I (as posted on a new thread) have started practising my Xmas cooking! I have been meaning to try making little festive treats for a few Xmases now, but for many reasons it just hasn't happened. So now I am trialling a few simple recipes without the pressure of impending Xmas (well unless you count 350

Ahem. Wrong button.

... Unless you count 355 days as impending) and it doesn't matter if it goes wrong - which knowing me it will!

Happy New Year all, and glad to see that this is rolling along again!!

Just back at work today after a MANIC festive season (including lots of travel, illness and general madness and chaos) - so I didn't get online at all over the hols.

We've decided ONE thing about next Christmas - we are travelling down and staying in PIL's (unless my parent's rental is empty and we can stay there for free). Renting for the week is madness prices, and it was a bit too quiet on Christmas Day this year.

Hope you're feeling better today Rabid - I am dosed up on various remedies to get me through (between keeping the family going and so many of my staff out with various medical and family issues, I need to stay standing).

I've still got Hallowe'en decorations in my garden Blush from my Hallowe'en Party.

But, I've managed to get the Christmas decorations put away

(Think I'll leave the bats hanging up TBH. They're fetching)

I picked up a couple of stocking stuffers in Topshop yesterday!!

I must pop into M&S and Boots for wrapping paper etc before the sales end.

And today's job is to roll over the annual excel spreadsheet and set the basic budget for all.

I am such a saddo Grin

Good work Biddy. I need to finish my debrief document Smile

I'm also going to take a last look around the supermarkets today for any remaining Christmas pudding. I have a recipe for Christmas pudding muffins and really intend to practice making them this spring as a trial for the Big Event.

If we get snow at the weekend I may have to 'recreate' Christmas (Sunday Roast dinner with my nice tablecover, some party poppers and a Christmassy Fillum)

Oh Yes. Blush

How many days until I can do it for real then Rabid ?

Ooo, can I join in please? We have a small santa chalk board up at home with a countdown on it that gets changed every day, much to my DB and SIL's disgust. Well bah humbug to them I say. Roll on Christmas Grin

Everything Christmassy has now gone from our house Sad. Apart from a snowfall Yankee candle, but if weather forecasts are true this will be quite fitting!
