Overreactionoftheweek · 25/06/2013 18:24

fuzz and lentil - thanks for your kind words.

well I feel like a fraud already, a colleague had to point out it's exactly six months to the big day! And I've done nothing! Terrible behaviour Wink must try harder.

I love the idea of Rudy day biddy

and happy birthday to Holly

LentilAsAnything · 26/06/2013 00:19

OMG - I am posting the countdown!!

Not a lot more done here - I realised on the drive to work that it's Thursday not Wednesday, so DD has to finish all cards tonight (writing 2 and decorating all 4). And I have to buy a present for SN teacher (class present for class teacher and classroom assistant), and another for the creche and 3 smallies for creche drivers - TODAY!! DD's tablets are not ready though in chemist, so will have to go back there tomorrow. Too much to do at work, and between 2 people out sick, the dad of a 3rd in the final stages of cancer, and carrying a vacancy - I can't get it all done. Au pair's DM arrived last night (I'll meet her tonight) and stays until Sunday when AP goes home too. DH home Sat morn, so have to be at airport early to meet him (we usually have sports when he arrives so he gets bus, but we'll surprise him!!). And we're having a farewell BBQ Sat night (weather permitting - or dinner in a restaurant) for AP.

But we are leaving on Tues for the hols, so I am getting excited in the little gaps of time I have. (And paniccking about everything I have to do).

BiddyPop · 27/06/2013 10:13

Damn - I need to learn to be less long-winded [GRIN]

fuzzpig · 27/06/2013 10:18

Biddy :o

I favour the 'post countdown number now, the rest later' method.

Although the only interesting news I have is that I am now ill with another chest infection :(

BiddyPop · 27/06/2013 10:32

Oh, hope you are getting a chance for a good rest so to catch it before it turns nasty! Sad

whispers (Although, there are days when I think what wouldn't I give for a chest infection as an excuse to stay in bed for a week and sleep - I get them a fair bit in winter with my asthma, but they usually don't make me feel so wretched that I can't cope with them, even when GP is threatening me with hosp as it's virtually pneumonia - I seem to be able to cope with them better than the current option of multiple night wakings as DD is unsettled by end of year and au pair going home stuff).

fuzzpig · 27/06/2013 12:00

I hope so too, I am resting and hoping it won't last too long - my first episode of severe M.E. was triggered by a chest infection so it always makes me nervous of relapses. It means I have to rest more, but this next month is the worst possible timing as DH has college stuff 3 days a week as well as working weekends. I will be so glad when it's August. No school runs, for a start!

Hope your DD feels more settled soon.

So excited!! It's almost Christmas in July. Does anyone know if QVC do a segment in July about the Christmas yankee candles?

A couple of years ago, movies 24 done Christmas in July, every weekend all the films were Christmas themed. Hope they do it again this year.

I've been thinking of what to get my DD this Christmas, she'll be 4. The only cartoons she really loves is Spongebob & Bubble Guppies, but I don't want to start buying incase she's gone off them by Christmas?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 29/06/2013 19:40

I had a look on the QVC TV Guide -they haven't given a full day guide for the 25th ( Bethlehem Lights TSV - I bought a door wreath last year that was lovely).
Lindy Bowman wrapping and boxes are brilliant

On the 24th they've got the Yankee Candles - they'll show the Christmas range of new fragrances . Smile

C in J has been a bit Hmm the past few years. They bring a load of Clearance tat out and re-name it to Christmas in July Price (I'm not fooled).

I don't buy my DC presents until December but I buy stocking gifts from Sept onwards (all the little fiddly bits that I don't want to spend loads on but need to be good fun/useful/unusual.)

HenD19 · 30/06/2013 01:17

Looooovvvvve Christmas and advent soooo much so going to join you in the countdown. Got a large jar (not homemade tut tut) of mincemeat left from last Christmas so need to make a batch of mince pies to celebrate being nearer to this Christmas than last......

fuzzpig · 30/06/2013 09:29

Hi all :)

Chest getting better thanks, still not great but I think I caught it early enough (often they seem to hit on weekends which means two days before starting ABs!).

I am annoyed though as this weekend I was supposed to be staying with my mum and going to Bluewater today. I had planned among other things to pick up a few stocking fillers - both ELC and Disney Store have gone from my local mall this year :( so I wanted the opportunity to browse. Hopefully we can rearrange soon if DH's hectic weekend work schedule allows.

Can't believe it's almost July. Not much left of this term either. Trying to declutter more so by Xmas there's not so much mess!
