The last week went really quickly Confused

DD's birthday in one week - better wrap the presents!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 17/06/2013 13:59

I can't believe I forgot about this thread!

I have started my DD's stocking, but no bigger presents yet. But I feel all Christmassy today because I've just booked the pantomime! Can't wait! Grin

starjules · 17/06/2013 15:13

The Hoff is in our local panto so must go this year!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 17/06/2013 17:39

Oh Star that's the one I've booked! We live in a neighbouring city, but when I saw it was the Hoff I decided to go there instead!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/06/2013 22:52

Oooh Envy at The Hoff (it was at the Hoff Running Across The Beach bit in The SpongeBob Movie that I woke up and watched Blush )

We had Twist and Pulse at our Christmas Lights last year (oh how showbiz are we )

Just as long as it's not that pesky TOWIE lot this year, I'll settle for almost anyone even Jedward

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/06/2013 22:53

When I say we had Twist and Pulse I mean our town- they didn't come to my house or anything Grin

fuzzpig · 18/06/2013 08:34

190!

:o at the Spongebob movie :o

I never go to the light switching on thing. Tried a couple of times but it is just far too crowded and loud for me, which makes me really anxious and stressed. I also do most of my shopping early and online for this reason!

BiddyPop · 18/06/2013 10:29

Oooh, good to hear that Despicable Me 2 is good - we are hoping to see it while in Florida as a "time out" option one afternoon/evening. (As in, relaxing quiet time - not punishment time).

I have started looking at Pantos, and pondering whether to try and book one this year. DD will be big enough, and we could either go as small family here or big family group near my/DH parents (there should be 2 options there) - but that would require serious organisation. (Might see what's on, book for ourselves and tell others so they can book the same performance if they want, and we can meet up before/during/after - but I don't have to be responsible for everyone booking or paying or handing out tickets.....). But she might realise we have Jedward in our city - ugh.

We have never gone to the lights switching on -it's not really a big thing and lots of waiting around. DD much prefers something like coming to see the "live crib" the week before Christmas and then enjoying a babycinno from the coffee shop while watching lots of people rather than having to deal with them pushing and shoving on the streets.

BiddyPop · 18/06/2013 10:29

Into the 180's tomorrow - and halfway there on this day week!!

I think I need to start the buying part soon.

Grin Grin Grin

I've got my key Grin to make my Santa Key.

(Now I just have to polish it up, bejewell it and tie a ribbon on it)

I've got 6 months to sort it out

Excited out of all proportion Grin Blush

buzzgirly · 20/06/2013 07:26

The key sounds like a great idea 70s, I may have to steal that one too Wink! Are you going to put it in Christmas Eve hamper?

The Christmas fleece blankets have arrived - will need a quick wash but they are perfect. Arthur Christmas is here, and I also ordered a new book "How Santa Really Works". All of this will be delivered on 1st December with the advent calendars. Ooh I wish it was tomorrow!! GrinGrin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/06/2013 19:27

Christmas fleeces are lovely - my DC have theirs on their beds the week before Christmas (DC are 13 and 11- I'm sure they just go along with it all for a quiet life Blush ).
One goes on the sofa for festive snuggling.

My key will be hung up on the front door so that Father Christmas can let himself in (though he's managed perfectly well with the chimney for the past XXX years)

I got my key from Ebay. If my DD was still in Junior school this Christmas I might have bough a load of them and decorated them to give to the school to sell at the Fayre. But she's off to Big School.

starjules · 20/06/2013 21:25

Buzz, "How Santa Really Works" is such a lovely book I bought it last year along with "Father christmas needs a wee"

I got into town on my own today and bought lots of Christmas presents! My LO is having a baby annabell and got some lovely newborn size clothes for it.

Wilkinsons are clearing out all their children's craft things so got 2 huge bags of craft kits, paints, stickers, play doh. All in spent about £12 and got about 10 childrens presents including peppa pig and Moshi Monsters. I also got lots of craft bits for us.

buzzgirly · 21/06/2013 08:21

Star - I might need to get that book too! I'm sure your lo will enjoy annabel, dd isn't too fussed for hers but 1 year old ds loves it!

On that note what the heck am I going to get dd? She will be 5 at Christmas. She already has a bike, toy kitchen, Barbie house, pram etc. - not all from us may I add! She is first grandchild, niece on both sides so the family may have gotten carried away. Any suggestions will be welcome.

Ds is getting a train set although I know dh has his eye on a ride along tractor!

I was thinking of getting a Christmas tablecloth - is red the way to go?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/06/2013 10:59

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooppppppppppppppss

We've MISSED A COUNTDOWN Blush Blush

OK
Thursday was 188

Today is 187

Phew Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/06/2013 11:03

buzz- my Christmas tablecloth is a dark green jaquard with matching napkins

Mainly because I can use it throughout the year and I love green (except cars)

fuzzpig · 21/06/2013 14:33

Shock how terrible of us to miss a day!

Buzz - at 5 your DD is old enough for Lego :o and playmobil!

KvassInTheNight · 21/06/2013 14:56

Oh, I have just found this thread, I thought I would be the only one who has been thinking about Christmas! Its like a whole thread of Christmas people... Grin am booking my panto tickets next week. Half sold out already!

starjules · 21/06/2013 22:51

Buzz I have 2 Christmas tablecloths 1 is red with silver reindeer on, the other which is on for the big day is red and white fine check with red hearts on alternative white squares. Love a good tablecloth!

fuzzpig · 22/06/2013 07:07

Where does one get a festive tablecloth?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/06/2013 09:06

Look on Ebay for festive table adornment Wink

I bought my green cover from Scotts of Stow years ago and some green/red holly pattern place mats and runners.

buzzgirly · 22/06/2013 12:51

Fuzz - I did think of Lego but as i have a one year old ds who eats anything, I may leave it for a couple of years. Is play mobile similar to happy land stuff?

I have wasted spent another couple of hours on ebay looking for Christmas stuff - it's very addictive!

fuzzpig · 22/06/2013 17:59

Playmobil has lots of small bits unfortunately so might be similarly eaten problematic!
