I'm getting it-the awful twitch-have I bought the right thing for the right people or have I got it terrible wrong. Thinking maybe I should just buy some more tat stuff to make it feel better.
Trying to resist urge and just wrap and leave it there!
Anyone else twitching yet??

DS1 has ideas of getting Skylanders for the Wii, we haven't got it for him. Maybe for his birthday in May.

He hasn't specifically asked FC for it and we've separately mentioned that he's not old enough for it yet, but i still feel a bit bad that we haven't got it.

JKSLtd
I bought my DS (13) some snazzy M&S trunks (boxers too baggy) for non-school days.
I bought my 10.6 yo DD some nice M&S pants and crop-tops.
She decides she wants bras.
She went onto the M&S website on her iPod and showed me the ones she wanted.
Ahh, Bless her.

I really, really don't need that chocolate swiss roll I've asked DH to get tomorrow. It isn't begging to be made into a Yule Log with leftover Betty Crocker frawsting in the fridge. And nobody will bloody eat it anyway.

But I just can't stop myself.

BluelightsAndSirens · 21/12/2012 22:20

I twitched but I was sneaky about it. I gave the DC £10 each and said it would be nice if we went out and they bought gifts for each other, £5 per sister.

DH asked this evening where did the pile of presents come from that are now under the tree and I twitched slightly but confidently said "the girls bought gifts for each other, how sweet is that?"

BluelightsAndSirens · 21/12/2012 22:21

Oh and I may have bought some more chocolate and a bath gift set for, er someone whilst with them but that was just a technical glitch.

PoppyWearer · 21/12/2012 22:25

Oh, I also did the DCs-bought-for-each-other thing. Except they are 1yo and 4yo and I bought the stuff without their knowledge.Blush

Twitch for DH solved, Ocado had the Sherlock (TV) DVD box set, will be delivered first thing Monday if not am screwed.

Am now getting twitchy about dessert wine. Ocado one-click is a VERY dangerous thing in the hands of someone who has consumed several Baileys. Someone should do something.

P.S. one of the additions to my Ocado order is more Baileys.

awaywego1 · 21/12/2012 22:40

There is a lot of twitching occurring here ladies. We all need to settle down with wine and snacks. I had an absurd cake decoration related twitch earlier and am not dulling the memory with gin. DP is very confused.

I have only got 1 present for each DC from me and DH.

This is because;
They will each have a stocking and some decent presents from Father Christmas (and certainly DD knows who those come from..)
They have birthdays in Nov and Jan respectively and have tons of stuff then;
They will get mountains from GPs and other relatives and every year they almost pass out from exhaustion opening gifts for hours;
Their presents are biggish.

But still...only one each....

iheartdusty · 21/12/2012 22:53

Ooh - dessert wine Xmas Envy

awaywego1 · 21/12/2012 22:57

iheart stay strong! Present are presents! They won't be thinking about who have them what on the day-they will be too busy running you ragged having fun Grin

iheartdusty · 21/12/2012 23:05

Thanks, I'm clinging onto that thought!

swanthingafteranother · 21/12/2012 23:23

I've done the food shopping (various things on order for delivery...all unchangeable because not internet [aha! beats twitchy editing!)
I wrapped the presents and THEY ARE UNDER THE TREE - and clearly there are piles of them
However, I'm feeling twitchy about CDs. Is Breaking Dawn 2 soundtrack too naff for ds1? Would he have preferred Now 83...Too late for HMV, may have to trek to HMV.

Also have Dh present twitch. Okay it is not a twitch, I haven't actually bought him anything except two paperbacks. Serious oversight. Not sure what he wants anyway, which will now involve me wandering round shops for 4 hours in search of something exciting. I have bought his present to me (boots and nightie - lst year's nightie was so horrid (Winnie the Pooh pjs Shock I insisted on choosing it this year. Which means he is now twitchy too, as he has only purchased two paperbacks.

swanthingafteranother · 21/12/2012 23:24

Okay, maybe I should buy him a rug in the JL clearance sale, but reschedule present for Xmas Day purchase...will have to get him to agree to this...Hmm

swanthingafteranother · 21/12/2012 23:25

If it's the right present dusty [taps nose sagely].

iheartdusty · 21/12/2012 23:29

How about promise vouchers, swan thing? Y'know, vouchers for breakfast in bed, that sort of thing.

MirandaWest · 22/12/2012 00:37

The twitch has spoken to me

DPs selection box suffered water damage
DS has three annuals and DD only has one
I have lost a small but very important bu inexpensive and get able present for DD
I need more paper (but think there is some in the attic)
I need satsumas
I need to get XH some interesting beers
DS needs to get XH a DVD (need to ask him what)
I need to get Son and Daughter cards
I need balloons
I maybe need some other little things for DP
I need some sort of things for Mum and sister and dad and brother in law (have main things just want one extra for each)
DDs friends need notebook type things
DDs other friend - I need the twitch to tell me

I think that is all the twitch has to say (bet I get loads of unnecessary stuff tomorrow.....)

MirandaWest · 22/12/2012 00:40

Oh those Christmassy bags. I need some (from Poundland)
I need some Christmas alcohol I think Grin

snice · 22/12/2012 00:46

MirandaWest-if you're anywhere nr Poundland tomorrow they have some 2013 annuals in

MirandaWest · 22/12/2012 01:10

Twitch has reminded me I have a pen and some hair clips for DD somewhere
And we need more Christmas chocolates Hmm

MirandaWest · 22/12/2012 01:10

Ooh thank you r Poundland annuals suggestion. I will indeed be in a Poundland tomorrow :)

BeaWheesht · 22/12/2012 02:06

Bugger it everything wrapped and I've lost a book for dh that is only available online - was one of main pressies - so annoyed.

Have ds and dh's birthdays to get through first and mums not been well so I've to start and finish her wrapping once we travel the 190 miles to see them.

So why, given that I have loads to do an I trying to think of a way to fit in an unnecessary trip to the shops.

I hate the twitch will I be struck down now?

MirandaWest · 22/12/2012 09:52

Am in town. Is surprisingly less manic than expected. Twitch has only made me buy more sticky tape so far.....

Littlebearlost · 22/12/2012 09:57

Been to argos. Got coffee machine. Twitch pleased. It will have to calm down now as I have no more money! I was at argos at 8.25am but happily no one else was so when it opened at 8.30 I was in and out in less than five minutes.
Think the rain has put people off.

MirandaWest · 22/12/2012 11:20

Am aimlessly wandering round BHS Hmm. And can't find the sort of pencil case DS wants (about the only thing he's said he wants....)
