Cant decide between

bacon, eggs, sausages, leftover ham if we have that christmas eve, black pudding, grilled cherry plum tomatoes

Or scrambled egg and smoked salmon

Or omelettes.

Have heard of people having duck and quail eggs. Do you have them fried, poached or scrambled?

Last year we made a Christmas tree with pastry and Nutella. Will be doing that again for the children bacon and eggs for the adults with champagne

Crumbs1 · 29/09/2017 08:08

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo. Ah I'd call that bread and butter pudding.

MuddlingThroughLife · 29/09/2017 08:08

Chocolate and whatever is found in the kids stockings. 🎗

Cantthinkofanoriginalname1 · 29/09/2017 08:28

That's what I was thinking Crumbs1. I thought French toast was fried , like a sweet version of eggy bread?

CamperVamp · 29/09/2017 08:29

Pannetone, coffee, fruit.

The idea of a massive fry up before a day of Christmas dinner / mince pies / alcohol / nibbling on chocolate etc throughout the day makes me feel a bit ill.

DragonBone · 29/09/2017 08:31

Me and DH had eggs benedict - the DC's had toast immediately followed by chocolate 😆

GrumpyOldMare · 29/09/2017 08:38

The same as any morning- 2 mugs of coffee

BillyAndTheSillies · 29/09/2017 08:40

When I lived at home it would be beigels, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.
Now it's me, DH and DC we have pancakes

tootsieglitterballs · 29/09/2017 08:43

Smoked salmon & scrambled eggs on muffins with a side of Buck's Fizz (and OJ for DS1) - love it!

fizzicles · 29/09/2017 08:47

White Russian porridge!

I don't put the vodka in, although you could if you want I suppose, but nice creamy porridge with Kahlua stirred through it, mmmm delicious!

gamerpigeon · 29/09/2017 08:48

We have Christmas muffins (orange and cranberry) - I think it’s a Nigella recipe

lostin2017 · 29/09/2017 08:50

Fried egg butties on white bread with tomato ketchup :) from your choices I would go with option 1 personally

asongforthelovers · 29/09/2017 08:52

I tend to just have toast, followed by a prosecco 😁

My husband likes to cook the messiest of foods though, why?!?!?

NutellaDoughnut · 29/09/2017 08:53

Usually bagels with smoked salmon and cream cheese, washed down with a Buck's Fizz. I'm pregnant and due after Christmas, so I might need to rethink that menu this year. So far the selection box idea sound tempting!

Expat38matt · 29/09/2017 08:53

Massive fry up as we don't eat Xmas dinner til dinner time !

cowgirlsareforever · 29/09/2017 08:59

Nigella's Christmas morning muffins, some fruit, a pot of tea and a pot of hot chocolate. I measure out the dry ingredients and the wet ingredients the night before. On Christmas day I just mix them together and put them in the oven. They taste delicious and the smell is so lovely and Christmassy.

NutellaDoughnut · 29/09/2017 09:03

Great inspiration on this thread, I'm so absorbed I've just thrown my tea bag in the washing up bowl instead of my mug.

My rethought Christmas breakfast menu is now likely to be American style pancakes, syrup and blueberries. Just a couple of pancakes each. I might task dh with squeezing oranges for a fancy drink as the Buck's Fizz will be off the cards for me.

Needalifeoverhaul · 29/09/2017 09:32

Chocolate of course! I haven't grown up yet!

Wilhamenawonka · 29/09/2017 09:50

Avocado, tomato and coriander salsa, refried beans, sour cream, egg and tortilla for me. It's a (not very authentic) version of heuvos rancheros i found in a vegetarian cookbook and is my all time favourite breakfast. Drooling just thinking about it.

Probably crepes for the kids as that's their favourite.

crazypenguinlady · 29/09/2017 09:53

Croissants with strawberry and champagne conserve, lots of tea.

mumofone234 · 29/09/2017 09:55

As part of some weird family tradition, we have pork pie. Nothing else, just slices of pork pie on their own. DH thinks it's repulsive.

AdoraBell · 29/09/2017 09:57

Croissants and similar for DDs. Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for DH and I.

MrsCrimbo74 · 29/09/2017 12:26

We have cold roasted gammon with fried eggs (scrambled for me) and fresh white sliced buttered bread and bucks fizz for us and orange and lemonade for ds

December11 · 29/09/2017 12:34

Last year we had french toast, maple syrup & bacon. Think we'll have pancakes this year. MMMM we normally have a late dinner so good to have a filling breakfast

Glumglowworm · 29/09/2017 14:37

I like smoked salmon and scrambled eggs but there's only me and with all the other Christmas food most of the packet of smoked salmon would go to waste

So now I have homemade bread rolls with posh bacon
