Cant decide between

bacon, eggs, sausages, leftover ham if we have that christmas eve, black pudding, grilled cherry plum tomatoes

Or scrambled egg and smoked salmon

Or omelettes.

Have heard of people having duck and quail eggs. Do you have them fried, poached or scrambled?

Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. I grew up eating chocolate for breakfast but DP always had salmon so I was happy to break tradition for him I just end up eating chocolate between breakfast and lunch anyway

We also make sure we have some croissants or pain au chocolats in just in case we decide to have 2 breakfasts... we don't have our Christmas dinner until about 5ish so 2 breakfasts is a winner!

If they don't get eaten they get eaten at some point over the next couple of days.

Bacon butties for Boxing Day breakfast before visiting the local meet.

I am planning on giving the nutella pastry Christmas tree a go this year.

I usually make eggs benedict as a bit of a treat.

We have it around 10am/11am. More brunch really.

We don’t have our Xmas dinner until 6pm to allow for a leisurely day and travel time for relatives, but I do serve nibbles from about 2pm to keep everyone fed :-)

Something small. We have Christmas dinner at 12 and I cook it so end up nibbling all morning.

Probably yoghurt & fruit.

We had a nutella bread wreath last year. Easy enough to make, quick to eat when there are all those presents waiting to be opened, and looked lovely.

Pouched eggs, smoked salmon on bagels with horseradish sauce. We have had the same every morning for about the last 8 years. We have Xmas dinner at around 5 so it's just the right amount.

Now I've seen some of your ideas I'm wondering if cinnamon buns might be a nice change....

I'm loving this thread!
We have cinnamon rolls which my husband used to get on Christmas Eve from Cinnabon in Leicester Sq or Cambridge but we found an even better place in Rickmansworth near us now. We have special Christmas coffee from our local Christmas market, Buck's Fizz and most importantly fresh eggnog from a family recipe. My Dad was American so this has been a tradition in my family forever.

This is all eaten on our knees after a break in present opening and the drinks continue throughout the morning. I love it

Always Nigella's Christmas morning muffins warm from the oven. Weigh it all out the night before so takes 5 mins to mix and put in cases. Makes the whole house smell of clementines and cinnamon. We eat them while we sit on the floor opening presents.

Croissants (the frozen cook at home sort) and cinnamon buns which I make the night before and leave somewhere cool for a slow overnight rise. There's usually toast and cereal too.

Usually have snaked salmon and cream cheese on bagels with Buck's Fizz. ( the drink not the band, although one of them does live very close by.....)

Really want to try the Nigella muffins this year, i LOVE her Christmas recipe book.

Have been meaning to try the Snowy Fir Tree cake for years........ It looks very impressive!

Eggy bread, croissants and bucks fizz.

Plus coffee.

And we graze on chocolate through the day, have dinner then graze again.

Bucks fizz, ales and spirits are also free flowing!

Rice porridge - its a Finnish tradition. But I twist the tradition slightly by skipping the prune sauce and usually make a sauce from Sharon fruit instead.
