vigglewiggle · 08/11/2012 21:56

Sorry, I meant to say I got 10% off with n501 on LA

izzywizzyisbizzy · 08/11/2012 21:56

Ive just complained to customer services its easy there is a form online

iloveholidays · 08/11/2012 21:58

Kiwi... Can't you email or call them tomorrow to cancel?

iloveholidays · 08/11/2012 21:59

Kiwi, it says on the confirmation you can contact them...

www.lauraashley.com/contact-us/page/contact/

kiwidreamer · 08/11/2012 22:12

I've used their online form, the items show in my account as Released for Dispatch so I guess that's why I can't cancel.

Maybe my maths is wrong, I am very very humiliatingly bad at maths....

BeaWheesht · 08/11/2012 22:12

Thanks for the Argos heads up - just got last web shooting spiderman reserved Which is £19 down from £35 so I'm hoping that doesn't go back up tomorrow but think it will? I've reserved 9 toys but 6 are in the 2 for 15 and 3 are between 20-25 quid - can I ask them to put it through in 3 transactions so I get most vale free iykwim?

Also used the book people's codes thanks for those. Grin got the top gear Xmas book for dad, Justin's annual for dd and Justin's jokes for ds Grin

kiwidreamer · 08/11/2012 22:14

On the upside the fudge and shortbread will make great TA gifts and little presents for friends Blush

iloveholidays · 08/11/2012 22:15

Kiwi... Can I ask what you bought? If you just add up the two more expensive items that should be roughly what you paid (depending whether you got the 10% off as well). Sorry... I'm a sad accountant trying to help with the numbers :)

BobblyGussets · 08/11/2012 22:20

Well I am recommending Lidl of all places: They have very nicely made micro fleeces for children for £3.99. They are slim fitting, warm and thin, so I have done three christmas presents courtesy of this today. I bought two each for my two nieces and nephew who live in a very cold part of the world and do a bit of skiing. I also included an attractive tube of retro sweets (refreshers/drumsticks/lovehearts). This will make a decent gift, I hope: two nicely made fleeces and a nice tube of sweets. Would anyone turn their nose up at this?

WannaSplitAPineapple · 08/11/2012 22:25

LA seem to apply their discount in a weird way. For example if you are buying 3 items for £7 they should be £21. The 3 for 2 takes them to £14. Delivery at £4.50 takes your order upto £18.50. If you use the promo code for free delivery it still looks like you are paying the £4.50 delivery but the items that were £14 before the discount was applied have now dropped to £9.50 as the delivery charge has beed taken from that part of your basket. They then add the £4.50 delivery taking you back up to £14.
In other words you are still only paying the total price for 2 items. Does that make any sense? I think I've confused myself!

BeaWheesht · 08/11/2012 22:27

Bobblygussets - of course no-one would turn their nose up at that! though I'd only have bought one each and been tight

twirlyagogo · 08/11/2012 22:29

ANGEL15 for 15% off and free P&P at Joules.

Spongebob playset thingies (sort of like Littlest Pet Shop style) in Home Bargains today for £2.99. These were about £15 last year in Toys 'r' Us when I was looking for them. They also had good stocking filler toiletries such as Moshi Monsters shower gel and shampoo, great big things to bulk up for £1 each (had Hannah Montana as well). Character toothbrushes and faceclothes for 39p, including Winnie the Pooh for little ones.

All these biscuits and candles for teachers and nursery staff - aren't you reading the threads that say how much they hate these things? Grin You could be spending that money on bargains for yourselves! Wink

kiwidreamer · 08/11/2012 22:30

I can't get the maths to work at all, maybe the code did include 10% that might account for some confusion

6 x 3.50 = 21
6 x 2.80 = 16.80
Total - 37.80

342 = 7 + 5.60 = 12.60

So total should be £25.20

From my account...
Subtotal:
£37.80
Discount:
-£15.70
Postage & Packaging:
£4.50
ORDER TOTAL:
£26.60

I dunno, my checkout total said £22.10 which is the £26.60 minus PP

twirlyagogo · 08/11/2012 22:34

GLTC 15% off over £50 until 17 December.

Code is PRANCER

iloveholidays · 08/11/2012 22:36

I reckon if you've done it all as one order you would have got the 4 cheapest things free so essentially 4 x 2.80. Therefore you would have paid...

6 x 3.50 = 21 +
2 x 2.80 = 5.60

Total being 26.60

Make sense?

iloveholidays · 08/11/2012 22:37

Your discount of 15.70 would be 4 x 2.80 + 4.50 delivery.

BobblyGussets · 08/11/2012 22:38

So for Argos: can I get it in the bag/reserved, now online and then pay tomorrow before everyone bags everything?

This 3 for 2 will be good if I get an Innotab 2, Furby and lego city Goldmine, they are all around the £55-£65 mark so to have £55 wiped off the total is not bad, and Nectar points too now, I believe?

iloveholidays · 08/11/2012 22:38

I think if you'd done 2 separate orders of cheaper stuff then more expensive stuff you would have saved more.

kiwidreamer · 08/11/2012 22:47

Aha!!!!!!

You clever bunch, of course they did the 342 across the cheaper items DOH Blush I only decided to add the fudge at the last minute, didnt even crossmy mind!!

izzywizzyisbizzy · 08/11/2012 22:48

tbf, I am happy enough with the price I paid even with the postage added, but it would be good if they refund it.

iloveholidays · 08/11/2012 22:53

You would have saved 1.40 if you'd done them separately so although very annoying hopefully it won't break the bank!! :)

I bought similar stuff so hoping it'll be nice for the preschool assistants if I get a nice cheap gift bag to put them in!!!

iloveholidays · 08/11/2012 22:56

Izzy... If you've paid 14.00 for 3 £7 items surely that is correct? I.e 2 x £7 rather than 3 x £7?

izzywizzyisbizzy · 08/11/2012 23:02

but the basket also showed the 30% discount, so basket total was £9.50, then it added the postage on top
