Do not post yet. Do not. Sit on your hands, ladies.

I think you can get a special hook that goes over the top of the door but can't say that it will work for your particular door, Homebase might have some. There are large adhesive suckers too with a hook, they just peel off afterwards. Some people locally have attached their wreaths just under the letterbox but I don't know how. If you have a knocker high up on the door you might be able to use wire to attach it to that.

I hang my wreath on the wall next to my door. A hanging half basket goes there in summer.

DecktheHalls ohh I was soo tempted by those only we already have more cutters than we can store Xmas Hmm On the Gingerbread house front, cheated with a kit - that's going up this weekend.

Wreaths / Deco on doors - no looked at the link but I thread the decoration on some loong ribbon, pass it over the door and securely tape it to the inside. Which makes it swing in windy weather, of which we had a lot last year, and the decoration is mainly made up of large 'sleigh bells'...

Ahhh, this thread is perfect. I've got halfway through before I had to get up and spread all my Christmas food books all around me. I have finally finished boring miserable non-Christmas related job apps until January, so I can get stuck in.

May I submit these gorgeous things for you to judge - poncey, or downright absurd? (I admit I partly love them for the name of the shop ... and no, there is no way I would shell out on one for myself ... but aren't they gorgeous?):

I have been Christmas shopping this afternoon with DH and we've bought carol CDs so I am going to sit here and browse through this thread while I wrap some presents and work out what I want to cook for Christmas dinner. Smile

Oh my good lord, have you seen the price of those fabric covered baubles on that Tobias website?

Thanks for the link LRD, it's hilarious!

I know! I was thinking I could make them if I raided my mum's 1980s cast off for velvet and bought some ribbon.

They are gorgeous, though, as are the angels. It's the price tag on the angels that really had me going. Shock

(I am hoping, btw, that someone on here will reply calmly that they have several ...)

sorry... what...? You can make bread sauce in advance? Is it really as nice?

I am on the hunt for other special meals you can cook in advance and freeze. I have extra adults to feed for seven days and they are all very good cooks. I love to cook, but I don't want to spend the whole time preparing stuff when they're here.

I know I could get them to cook but one of them can be just insufferable when cooking and certainly will not think about my budget. Any ideas would be warmly welcomed.

Wow LRD the angels are gorgeous and remind me of some my Grandmother had (they were a bit more 'kitsch' though!) - but wow indeed at the price tag - once I managed to decipher the fuchsia on burgundy writing!!

Expensive as they are, the angles-without-faces are creepy to me. Lavish fabrics, though.
