What have your dc been asking for and what will you be getting them?

DoubleMum, you bad bad woman. Now I'm looking at those Blackberry tablets and have reserved one at my nearest store. Blush

They look really good.

D0oinMeCleanin · 25/08/2012 17:11

OvO you are too easily sold to. I would never do such a thing [ahem] hides currys tab

OvO · 25/08/2012 17:14
Grin

It's so true.

But ooooo look, the 64GB one is the same price as the 16GB! It would be rude not to...

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 25/08/2012 17:16

I have just looked as well, and i have one already (they are fab), and i have already brought dd an ipod as i mentioned.

Desperately trying to justify getting one for dd.

D0oinMeCleanin · 25/08/2012 17:18

Are they very similar to the ipad Hokey? i.e would they stop dd1 writing begging letters to Santa every year explaining how good she has been and how she deserves an ipad and a poodle?

JaquelineHyde · 25/08/2012 17:23

I have a playbook and they are great and the 3 DCs all play on it happily (7, 6 and 5)

I have no idea what to get them all this year, I know they all want bikes and scooters so maybe them but they have also asked for ipods, lego and so much other stuff I can't remember. I suppose it will all boil down to how much money we have and what their behaviour has been like.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 25/08/2012 17:23

They are fab D0oin

They have a hi def screen and the video quality is exceptional, they work on wifi or if you have a Blackberry you can connect through your phone and use your mobile data allowance, there are lots (not as many as Apple) of apps you can down load for free. They are smaller than an ipad so can fit in a bag easily, i love mine.

QOD · 25/08/2012 17:30

Possibly gettin DD an I-phone

her birthday and Xmas are week apart and she'll be 14!!

Olympicnmix · 25/08/2012 17:36

BeaWheesht Corolle dolls, the baby ones, are lovely, have a delicate vanilla smell

DoubleMum · 25/08/2012 17:38

Sorry!!! Yes the 64 GB one. If you reserve one to pick up, don't pay £32 for the whatever happens insurance, I paid £20. I figured that was pretty cheap since they even pay out if you drop it.
And if you do get it the huge thread on HUKD has lots of hints on it about how to add android apps, e-book reader etc. Apparently sound really good so am not getting DD an iPod for her birthday now.

Olympicnmix · 25/08/2012 17:42

DD1 - maxi scooter
DD1 - maxi scooter
DS2 - micro scooter

My father also gives me some money to buy a present on their behalf, so I shall be watching with interest.

Olympicnmix · 25/08/2012 17:44

Fivegomadindorset, loving the den kits!

Brizzmus · 25/08/2012 17:52

DS will be 6 months old so I thought of saving lots of money and getting him a box, a plastic coat hanger and some wrapping paper - my friends' uner-1-year children always seem more interested in the trappings than the presents!

myBOYSareBONKERS · 25/08/2012 17:56

check out the facebook selling pages in your areas - I have picked up a few bargains that way

BeaWheesht · 25/08/2012 18:09

oreocrumbs thanks for the tip!

OvO · 25/08/2012 18:10

Thanks for the link, DoubleMum, off to have a read now. That's my DS3's Christmas sorted now! I'll be asking HIM for a shot of his. Grin

muddyjumpers · 25/08/2012 18:31

I have got DD a few stocking type fillers over the past few months.
(Monster High Dolls x 5 + outfit sets x 5 1/2 price in Wilkos)
(BAB outfits x5 from Argos )
(10 Monster high stationary items)
(craft making stuff, cards, jewellery making , ironfix stuff - 1/2 price or less)
(x2 packs of 10 books - 75% off)
(4 hoodies - 1/2 price)
(Pjs, socks, underwear - christmas - Jan. sales)

I found 4 big china cups today (union jack pattern), down to 25p. I will fill these with DDs dairy free hot choc & marshmallows) & a very large bag of Gemstones in a gift shop for a £1. bloody bargin

I can't remember everything i've picked up so far, the list is endless. I'm always finding bits & bobs! Grin
I love looking/coming across items that i can add to DDs craft box she gets every year for Christmas.
Last year i worked out, if i had purchased it just before Christmas in a box it would of cost over £100, with only half the amount. I paid around £35.inc. box. Grin

DD has asked for a kindle, this year. Oh. and her first mobile phone.Grin

olibeansmummy · 25/08/2012 18:35

somebodysaveme Lego is fine for a 3.9 year old, ds is 3.3 and it's his favourite thing. Get him a box of bits rather than a specific model as they make their own monstrosities models at this age :)

DoubleMum · 25/08/2012 18:44

Muddyjumpers DD is mad for Monster High stuff too, I had no idea wilkos did it. Where did you get your stationery items please? Everywhere still seems really expensive for Monster High and I'm very conscious I don't have much budget left!

Kveta · 25/08/2012 19:04

DS will be 3.3, we're thinking a bike for him.

DD will be 6.5 months, I've got her some stacking blocks.

stocking fillers are pretty much sorted, our local ELC closed in May, so got some wee toys from there, will get a new top for DD, and have got her some baby cutlery in a sale in sainsburys. just need some bubble bath for each of them, and chocolate coins for DS!

muddyjumpers · 25/08/2012 19:07

I'm in N.Yorks. The shop is called Boyes. I think they only have shops in yorkshire.

I've got her pens, pencils,stationary set,pads,files,note books,pencil case - all 99p each)

DD loves Monster High. I'm scared of the dolls, especially when DD gives them different parts etc..Shock

DoubleMum · 25/08/2012 19:15

Thanks Muddyjumpers. I found an ebay seller in Poland who has Monster High pyjamas, socks, tops etc for reasonable prices and almost no extra postage for multiple items so might get a couple of bits. Off to google Boyes (although if they were 99p surely elsewhere must have stock - might have to haunt Poundland!).

seeker · 25/08/2012 19:18

But how do they know what they want for Christmas? They'll be different people in 3 months time!

RabidAnchovy · 25/08/2012 19:21

God willing a cousin Grin
