Well, helloooooooooooooo Smile

Boo to work, but just think about the money you can spend Grin

Santa toilet seat cover? Hmm

Hope your dog is ok again. Am saving the wrapping for later, spreading the excitement.

ChestyNutsSparklerHell · 03/11/2012 11:36

Tis awesome mama Santas head on seat and footprints on the mat.
You are just jealous Grin

I was working full time before but over 3 days.

MamaPizza · 03/11/2012 12:33

Lol, yes I am jealous. Sounds pretty cool.

ChestyNutsSparklerHell · 03/11/2012 13:58

I want some Christmas bunting now.
Also always fancied the white star lights that hang like a curtain at your window but not sure how you attach them etc.

What do you do on nikolaus?

Molepom · 03/11/2012 15:16

Nikolaus?

Is that the one where the children have to clean and polish their shoes and the elves inpect them in the night. If they are clean enough they will leave a small selection of sweets and a note reminding children to be good as Christmas is coming very soon?

If not, can you please tell me whuch one that is and when it's supposed to happen?

We had it at college last year where one of the year 3 students was German and put a small bag of sweets in our safety boots as part of her tradition.

MamaPizza · 03/11/2012 15:34

Chesty, I'll ask PapaPizza later how to attach them, he'll know.

Nikolaus is St Nick. He is basically Santa, that comes on the 6th, as on Christmas day the presents are given by the Christkindl (the angel) and not Santa. Yes, it is where the children scrub their boots and leave them in front of the fireplace and then in the morning they are magically filled.
Traditionally he brings chocolates, but many people nowadays add a little present or two or three on top. I'm going to tease DS and give him one of the VTech Switch and go dinos that he has asked for. Only one of the little ones and big brachiosaurus will be the surprise for Christmas. I just love all those extra traditions, it means I can spoil him and the celebrations are more than a day.

Molepom · 03/11/2012 15:36

Thanks for clearing that up Mama.

MamaPizza · 04/11/2012 11:30

You're welcome molepom Smile

Chesty, DH says you hang them over the gutter and they should come supplied with hook thingies. If not, just make your own with strong wire and twist it around.

MrsDB is back, have spotted her on another thread!!!

Molepom · 04/11/2012 11:36

Who-hoo!!!

Drag her over here Mama.

MamaPizza · 04/11/2012 11:54

I told her already Grin

You realise that in 3 weeks we are already on the second door of our advent calendar and in 4 weeks our trees will be up. WAHEY!!!!!

MamaPizza · 04/11/2012 11:55

Oh pants, that reminds me - I need to sort out a calendar for DS. I always crafted one, but no ideas this year. Any suggestions? He loves dinosaurs Hmm

Molepom · 04/11/2012 11:58

Oooohhh!!!!!

I cant wait! I need to get DD an advent calendar, I've got DS a lego start wars one. I've got myself 3 advent candles.

Felt dinosaurs mama? One for each day? or body parts so he has to built/make/sew together for one big dinosaur?

WhatWouldGuyFawkesDo · 04/11/2012 12:45

50 days to go, I thought I'd better get myself signed up to this thread!

MamaPizza, we are in Germany and having our first Christmas here his year, I am excited to do the St.Nikolaus thing on the 6th. Also looking to find a nice pickle decoration. I think celebrating on the 24th will feel a bit strange to us. Maybe we'll do both the 24th and 25th! :)

ChestyNutsSparklerHell · 04/11/2012 14:45

mama I meant the indoor ones, thanks tho Smile

Dragged all the presents downstairs yesterday to wrap but then changed mind and watched deck the halls under a blanket Grin

MamaPizza · 04/11/2012 14:57

Good ideas, mole, but how on earth do I craft one?

whatwould well hallo! I miss Germany at Christmas time, it's so nice there with all the Christmas markets. Just celebrate all three like me. Always an excuse Grin

Chesty, if it's UPVC buy some hooks and you can apparently screw them into the wall. That's what he says.

Molepom · 04/11/2012 15:08

I would imagine stencil one out, then cut it inot 24 pieces...can you get someone in the Art department at school to help?

WhatWouldGuyFawkesDo · 04/11/2012 15:39

Hallo! Ja, three celebrations sounds like the way to go! :)

WhatWouldGuyFawkesDo · 04/11/2012 15:40

Oh and yes, I am really looking forward to the Christmas markets. Any tips welcome! We are in Frankfurt.

MamaPizza · 05/11/2012 06:55

Thanks Mole, will see what I can work out. If not the playmobil dino calendar, that's my back up plan.

Any tips on Christmas markets? Take the bus or train, get drunk on Gluehwein and eat loads of yummy food Grin

Back to school today, 7 weeks. We are getting there.

ChestyNutsSparklerHell · 05/11/2012 07:02

Morning mama

Where is mrs do we need to go kidnap her and bring her here?

I'm going to the Christmas market this year, can't wait. Just need to book the ridiculously expensive park and ride.
Say I'd like to go every year and this year I shall Grin

WhatWouldGuyFawkesDo · 05/11/2012 18:05

:) Thanks for the tips. I don't drink though, and I am vegan, so there is never anything for me to eat at these places, except for Churros! :)

MamaPizza · 06/11/2012 19:07

I think we have to pull in MrsDB by her ears. Seriously, where is she?

Is the Gluehwein vegan safe?

ChestyNut · 06/11/2012 19:15

We need some sort of alarm or loudspeaker Grin

WhatWouldGuyFawkesDo · 07/11/2012 15:22

I don't know about Gluehwein, I don't drink at all, so haven't bothered researching! :)
