ChestyNut · 17/11/2013 16:37

Oh is he in it mama?
Don't even know who's in it this year!

Just had a lovely afternoon shlurping gingerbread lattes with friend....have caffeine anxiety now tho Hmm

farrow don't be jealous, Chestydog has a lick for you too Grin

seven please dont talk about the W word, I'm in denial. There's too much to do.

ChestyNut · 17/11/2013 16:40

Ps every thread I comment on seems to have been deleted this weekend Hmm

farrowandbawl · 17/11/2013 19:21

Hello darlings,

What a crap day. I've forgotten about another Maths test that is due in Monday..I've crammed a weeks worth of fractions, and sums to do with fractions, decimals, conversions, recipricals etc in 1 afternoon. My head hurts. Only got 64% but it's not bad for an afternoons work - I swear I was never taught this in school. I'd put money on it.

Anyway...

Hello Seven, I'm dying to get myself to Starbucks for an eggnog late...gonna have to do that this week.

Well done on being nearly done for Christmas. Well jel (or so DD would say).

I'm not near finished buying - let alone wrapping. I'm hoping to be done very soon though - it's just been a matter of waiting on finances.

Hello Mama,

I can't believe you're nearly finished too! Would it be worth asking neighbours or friends if they have some space you can stash some gifts in?

Chesty,

LOL, I love doggy licks. My mates pug loves a fussing when you see him. He's here that often, my mate says, when he's in the car pining (he hates travelling) as soon as they turn the corner at the end of my road, his pining changes and he starts to get giddy. Grin. He's even got a stash of his own stuff here ready for when he visits.

I miss having a dog, but I just don't have the time for it - it's not fair on the poor thing.

At least we can panic together Chesty, I'm not finished yet either and times getting really tight for me too.

As for threads - I'm not saying anything - just wish you were on a couple that should have been deleted long before they were blown out of proportion Sad. MN is on another planet at the moment - I honestly can't see where some posters get their view points from, no matter how hard I try. Maybe I'll stick to this thread for a while instead. Stay out of the main areas.

Anyway, that's it for today, just some washing up that needs doing, and the living room to tidy and ironing to put away, but that's it. I can switch off to a point now.

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 17/11/2013 20:18

I fall for the trolling threads every time.

farrow that sounds really tough, maths was never my strong point.

farrowandbawl · 17/11/2013 20:24

It's not mine either Seven, but I'm better now than I was back then.

I fall for the trolling threads too Seven - don't worry about it. I still can't tell them apart from normal threads or reverse AIBU's etc. Too confusing.

MamaPizza · 17/11/2013 20:26

Pahaha! If I asked the neighbours to hide things I'll never see them again. Ever!

Stay here farrow, no deleting and no nastiness. All lovely and full of Christmas cheer.

We watched Miracle on 34th Street, they have the DVD for £2.99 at Aldi. Made me cry, as usual.

Got some Lebkuchen from Aldi, will enjoy that while oozing over Carlton. Just over half an hour to go! enough time to browse for even more presents

farrowandbawl · 17/11/2013 20:29

What about friends then Mama - what about a store cupboard at school? Would they let you store a couple of bits there for a couple of weeks?

MamaPizza · 17/11/2013 22:46

I was thinking school, but need to find a place that is definitely locked away from pupils. Will have a look around tomorrow in my free and see if I find one or if the caretaker can help me.

ChestyNut · 18/11/2013 13:35

Just don't get why anyone would have the inclination too make up threads Hmm

My threads I'm on is full of red thread deleteds.

Nice and deletion free here.

Have got Santa Claus is coming to town stuck on repeat in my head Grin

Good luck for test farrow

farrowandbawl · 18/11/2013 14:07

Thanks

It's an online test so the results are instant. Not a great result but it'll do for now until I get round to really study the subject.

Anyway, how are you today?

I've got the Mariah Carey one in my head...I've just found Blissmass, music channel on Sky - Christmas songs all day (there's a radio station too that has christmas all day).

I love Walking Dead but it's scaring the pants off me at the moment. There's no way I'm watching it at night before I go to bed. FUCK.THAT.

Just finished making a hole in the wall in the kitchen. Around the back of the house was a mystery pipe..I had no idea what it was for so we had it blocked up. 2 months ago it dawned on me while I was looking at it in the garden - it's an extra waste pipe for the washing machine!

I've just finished chiseling away the blocked up bit so I can disconnect the washing machine pipe from the sink and replace it with the waste pipe from the dishwasher when it arrives. Only problem I have now is...I have to move the cabinet that's under the sink across to make room for the dishwasher - without moving the sink on the top - that's going to be fun - NOT. It's doable but difficult. I'll manage it though.

How's ChestyDog today?

MamaPizza · 19/11/2013 16:31

Blissmas? Ooooooh!

More parcel deliveries today Grin My 25 m roll of brown wrapping paper (the parcel one) should arrive tomorrow and then it's full steam ahead wrapping up the too many presents. I have visions of simple paper and beautiful ribbons. I also found some stickers on ebay "inspected by head elf" and "hand delivered by Santa" which will go on them. So excited! I shall report back if I am successful or completely fail with my wrapping skills. Boxes will bee a doodle, the problem will be things like headphones that he has asked for and the stockings little tat.

farrowandbawl · 19/11/2013 18:12

Sounds exciting Mama. You'll have to post some pictures when you've finished as they sound brilliant.

How is everyone?

Anyone seen Missus? She's not been here for a while. Seven?

Chesty, are you feeling better today? How's Chesty Dog?

Mama, did you find somewhere to hide stuff at school?

Well, you and Seven has inspired me to get off my backside and get on with it. I've wrapped and listed everything I have bought, got a few more presents (I've done more than I thought) - all that's left is the presents for the ex inlaws, cash gifts for the kids and something from their dad when he sends the money over next week.

DD's coat came today that the ebay seller put to one side for her. I couldn't wait for her Birthday - so much effort has gone into finding the damn thing in the firstplace because of the colour - so she's had it now, and is over the moon.

She asked for some headphones a few months ago for Christmas, I said no. I saw them in a sale today so got some - still stupidly expensive but half the price of what they were asking for them.

Just the art stuff and baking stuff and the 2DS for ds then that's them done. I should be done by next week with any luck.

Any ideas on what to get the ex PIL's? They always get me something for Christmas so it's only fair to get them something in return...they've made more of a effort to keep in contact than my own mother has.

Oooh, I've got a tip for you all. If you like yankee candles in a jar, DONT put them in the loft, if you do, make sure they are upright and not tilted. I got my decorations out of the loft today and dicovered that the 2 christmas candles has melted during that stupidly hot summer we had, and then cooled back down hiding the wick. I've had to put them both in the oven to melt them enough to find the wick, push the wax back to where it should be and let them cool again. To top it all off, one of the jars has squashed one of the snowball decorations and leaked all over it - it smells nice but looks as though it's come in contact with a red bloody puddle at high impact.

7 days until the tree is delivered! 9 days to DD's birthday! Too many to Christmas.

The dishwasher arrives tomorrow - yay! That's MY christmas present to me. So I moved that cupboard under the sink, it took 3 hours to move it 8 inches. NEVER AGAIN. Anyway, at least it's straight now (was wonky before), everything is all plumbed back in, extention lead plugged in and secured to the wall (so it's off the floor if there's a leak from anything) and will shove the waste hose from the washing machine down that pipe that I found when the dishwasher get's here, double cold water dividing end thingy in place so I dont have to cut into the cold water pipe, and the waste pipe will go where the washing machine one was..

Does anyone know if you still have to buy salt or is it all included in those tablet things now?

Oooh, treat myself to an eggnog late while I was in town - very nice, got a bit sickly towards the end but it's been worth the wait.

Lush, if anyone is interested are doing a bubblebath/bodywash/shampoo stuff that is like playdoh! You can even mould with it. There's a tin of 6 colours for £25, or they are £5 each.

They also do something that's in the theme of a pantomime, when you yank the top cover off, there's a big "bang" - like a cracker.

Oh, one more thing...IT'S FREEZING! Grin

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 19/11/2013 23:52

What an epic post farrow, how did the test go? Dishwasher salt probably depends on what your water is like. We use salt as well bit out water is really hard, maybe try without but just get some if the glasses come out cloudy.

mama I'm doing brown paper and pretty ribbon too, the few I've done look really good. Only for adults though, I've gone for simple bright foil paper for children which also look surprisingly pretty. The stickers sound good.

The ingredients for the Christmas pudding came on my tesco order yesterday so I'll probably make it next week, as well as marzipan the cake. They put a nice set of hand cream and lotion in one of the bags by mistake, it will do for a present for MIL from the DCs. I know I'm being tight but she should be thankful she's getting anything this year from us tbh.

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 19/11/2013 23:53

Should have said but our water is really hard

ChestyNut · 20/11/2013 07:01

Just popping in.

Horrendous afternoon at work yesterday so zombied on the sofa last night.

My Santa phone cover arrived yesterday....is it too early to put it on?

Be back later, work calls.....

farrowandbawl · 20/11/2013 18:53

Sorry about the massive post last night - I have no idea what came over me.

Seven, the test went ok thanks. Your gift wrapping sounds brilliant, will you be posting pictures too?

Hope your day was better today Chesty and no, it's never too early for a santa phone cover, get it on.

Today, it arrived. My christmas present. It's BRILLIANT. I've washed almost everything, including the glass candle holders for the living room and they sparkle, they look like new!.

When plumbing in the waste hose from the washing mashine in that pipe I found, I accidently shoved too hard so the pipe came away from the wall outside - the up side to that was, I could shove the waste pipe further down the outside pipe so there's no rish of it leaking back into the house.

Nothing leaks that I can see so I think it's all done. Fingers crossed.

How has everyone been today?

ChestyNut · 20/11/2013 19:22

Your like mrs DIY farrow Grin

Shitty day here would have been my DF birthday today Sad
Trapped a nerve in neck brushing my teeth this morning Hmm

Sat with a heat pack and a can of pimms as pain relief.

35 sleeps!

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 20/11/2013 22:17

Nothing wrong with epic posts farrow.

chesty hope tomorrow is a better day.

DD1 is 2 tomorrow. I've been wrapping birthday presents, now watching Arthur Christmas (bought in asda for a fiver) with a glass of Sauvignon.

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 22/11/2013 14:03

How is everyone?

Me and DS have made present labels this morning, using brown labels and a Christmas stamper with red and gold ink to go with my brown paper and ribbon scheme.

He's staying at my mums tonight so I'm hoping to get most of the DCs presents wrapped once the DDs are in bed.

ChestyNut · 22/11/2013 17:01

Sounds lovely seven

I'm off work in a couple of weeks so will knuckle down and wrap, my least favourite part!

Where is everyone Hmm?

farrowandbawl · 23/11/2013 10:17

It's all very well making epic posts but when they are riddled with spelling mistakes it's horrible. I CAN spell - honestly.

Anyway, how are we all?

Seven, that sounds lovely.

Chesty, wrapping is the best bit. Get a christmas film on telly, christmas scented candle going and wrap up everything on a raining or snowy day...BLISS!

If you want, send it all to me to do. I love wrapping. With bows and glitter and everything.

Sorry I've not been on. Fighting with BT. They are charging me money for 40GB of internet when they are offering unlimited for less - bastards. Anyway, that's all sorted.

Studying is taking it's toll this week - just don't seem to be getting anywhere with it. It'll click though eventually so I'm not stressing about it.

Found out that DD is off school on Monday. So she's going to have to stay home while I'm at college. I should be back for lunch so it's not too bad. She's just happy that she get's a chance to watch Walking Dead and eat rubbish while no one is home.

Other than that, not a lot has been happening. That I can think of anyway.

My Christmas tree arrives on TUESDAY! There's a competition with my friend and I. She wasn't going to decorate yet but when she found out I'm doing it Friday she's now doing it today. She'll send me a text when it's done. She HAS to be first to put the decorations up so I've made it my challenge to see how early I can get her to get them up. Grin

MamaPizza · 23/11/2013 11:54

Hello again, almost December Grin

Oh Chesty you are not having a good time at the moment. Hopefully the Christmas cheer will make it all better soon.

Happy birthday to your DD, seven. I like your tag making, wish I had time for it. I just buy everything from ebay or amazon.

Farrow congrats on the new dishwasher Wink My tree is also arriving on Friday, I just can't wait any longer. It will go up in 8 days

I have decided to keep things at home as school shuts on the 20th and I would have to store them here anyway. I have made a start on wrapping and everything that is done gets stored in the playhouse outside. I need to gut the bedroom soon anyway for our new furniture and possibly a new carpet, so everything that is stored under the bed there at the moment needs to be gone so he doesn't see it.

My wrapping is going well, but the brown paper doesn't look as pretty next to the golden-star paper that I wrap 'our' presents in (as in the ones from us and not Santa). I'm off to town later and I'll look for gold or red foil paper for the bigger presents under the tree from Santa so it looks super pretty. The stockings will stay in brown paper, it was too much work to get them done and it looks fine for stockings. They will go in one of those so cool!

TheOnlySeven · 23/11/2013 12:43

How old is your DD farrow?

I can't be doing with putting up the tree while its still November, we'll likely trim up on the 2nd. We'll have a real tree in the front room but I still need to find a cheap artificial tree for the dining room, and I want some nice but not too tacky decorations for the kitchen windowsill.

I got the DCs presents mostly wrapped, tonight I want to get everything out that I've bought online for DD1s dressing up box (her main present) and see what there is.

TheOnlySeven · 23/11/2013 12:52

mama the tags only took 5 minutes. I got my foil paper in John Lewis, think it was £2.50 a roll.

ChestyNut · 23/11/2013 18:37

Aaaaaaaw why are you all wrapping already.

You're making me panic

farrow I can pay you in mince pies and baileys for wrapping? Grin

Bugger all on TV tonight, have to wait til 930 for I'm a celeb

I have one present only left to buy!

mama is jingle limbering up?
