Obvs that was tweezer thieving DB Blush

Have you got that tree up yet farrow? Grin

farrowandbawl · 27/09/2013 19:15

It's not getting delivered until the 26th of Nov Chesty because it can't be delivered earlier I'm not THAT bad.

Ooooh, for tweezers, I swear by engineering tweezers. My dad used to have some until my mum pinched it for her eyebrows, now I have my own set. They even get the small tiny stumpy hairs.

Try to get the ones that are curved at the end. They are fantastic and knock the socks off normal eyebrow tweezers.

ChestyNut · 27/09/2013 19:18

I'm very picky with tweezers, have to be slanted ends for me.

farrowandbawl · 27/09/2013 19:21

Trust me on this. Ebay £2 something, just try them.

here

MamaPizza · 28/09/2013 09:57

Oooh, it's filling up here! Welcome everyone, enjoy the countdown Grin

Welcome back farrow and thanks for the link. I loved our fraser fir last year and will get one again. Just couldn't find the link, so thanks for helping. It looked so good for many weeks even with the dog wagging his tail against it, was so pleased.

Had my first Christmas present delivered. Only something small (the Scooby Doo Phantosaur adventure film) but I am so excited.

Guitar is definitely on the cards for DS now. Have spoken to a music teacher and he has known children of that age to play the guitar. He says to get it as he wants one, better than 'forcing' him to start with the more usual starting instruments such as a recorder or the piano.

Playroom in full swing, so if you don't see me again this weekend I'll be busy stripping wallpaper, painting, decorating...

farrowandbawl · 28/09/2013 10:01

Good luck with the decorating Mama. I'm trying to do my bedroom but the kitchen is taking over instead.

Glad to hear you are getting another tree - they are expensive for real trees but I do think they are worth it and they last for ages.

ChestyNut · 28/09/2013 10:24

Morning.

Had a lay in and feel shocking, maybe too much sleep isn't good for you Hmm

Did you find the no socks app mama? I love it!
Can you believe Clinton don't have the 2014 diaries in!
Very unorganised!

Do you all do Christmas Eve hampers?

Good luck with the decorating.

Oh no Sad
Had to run off down the garden mid post as ChestyDog fitting SadSad

Please cross your fingers that's it and he won't have anymore.

MamaPizza · 28/09/2013 21:34

I'm knackered. Stripping wallpaper is a bitch. And then the hole in the wall so both rooms are connect. Argh! But it's as good as done now, fresh wallpaper tomorrow and then painting. That's the fun bit.

Farrow, good luck with the kitchen. That's project number 3 for us - playroom first, then living room before Christmas and next year kitchen. We want to give the whole house a complete overhaul and bring it fully up to date.

Forgot about the app. How dare I! Will download it now. You know what I do Christmas Eve. German celebrations Grin

Hope chestydog is better. Keeping my fingers crossed x

LentilAsAnything · 29/09/2013 00:05

Ah, here you all are. Hi again.

Haven't done much shopping yet. We are looking to move house, and I am daydreaming that we will be in a new home before Xmas, so feel really in limbo at the moment, and that I don't want a roomful of gifts here only to have to lug them all over to a new home. Plus there isn't much room here to hide things from DS anyway. I think we'll know in a few weeks if we won't be moving in time for Xmas, in which case I'll just have to crack on with things for here.

Sounds like you are on top of the decorating, Pizza. Enjoy the painting.

Chesty, we do the Xmas eve hamper, yes! I love the Xmas eve hamper. :)

I'm thinking if we do move in time, I'd like a real Xmas tree for the garden, to last forever.

ChestyNut · 29/09/2013 12:05

ChestyDog seems ok so far today, but zonked from the Valium Grin

Oh yes mama maybe you could do a Christmas Eve eve hamper Grin

I got a conifery like tree for the front garden last year. It's gone a yellowy colour tho. Did look vaguely christmas tree like.

DSJamesHathaway · 29/09/2013 14:04

Hello everyone. Thanks for the mulled wine MamaPizza.

Chesty, we don't do the Christmas eve hamper - what is that?

Hermione what kind of felt decorations are you making? I'm making poisettias and fir cones at the moment. I found a really good pattern for the fir cones online.

ChestyNut · 29/09/2013 16:13

(I don't even have DCs yet Blush)

But if I did......

It's delivered by the elves on Christmas Eve with goodies to aid winding down to sleep. Has things like PJs, bath bomb, christmas book, DVD, sweets, reindeer food in Smile

I do an adult one for DM and DB
Festive pjs
Baileys
Hot chocolate
Marshmallows
Dvd
Lush bath bomb

I love Christmas Eve!

LentilAsAnything · 29/09/2013 19:15

I love Xmas eve too, it's possibly better than Xmas day itself, all the buildup! I love all of December. We start on the first with a little December the First hamper, Elf on the Shelf, tree up, decorations out, Xmas films on, and start to feel really festive.

I just watched The Holiday today. :) I usually save all Xmas films til December, but I really felt like watching it.

MrsVamos · 29/09/2013 22:04

Just popped in to say hello !

I was MrsDeeBee/MrsChristmasDB and have been known for quite some time as MrsVamos, which of course becomes MrsChristmasVamos.

Have to admit have started thinking about christmas and have a good idea what I want to 'do', I just need the time and money to get going !

I also need want a new tree and decs this year, so I shall be busier than usual....I do it to myself all the time. I am hoping to plan well and not be racing round like a loon in the run up but I always end up doing it for something.

Mwah to all countdowners xxx

ChestyNut · 29/09/2013 22:43

Yay!

Call in the search party! mrs is here!

Oh it's like having all your decorations in the right place on the christmas tree Grin

Do we need to shackle you mrs?

Hope the decorating hasn't eaten mama

First day back at work after week off tomorrow. Hope alls well Hmm

So typically won't be able to sleep tonight. And I've bought new tights for work and left them in car boot. Pyjama sprint at 6am, it is!

lentil my favourite is christmas with the Kranks.

87 sleeps ladies Grin

farrowandbawl · 30/09/2013 08:14

86 days to go!

I've just remembered I need to buy Starwars dvd'ss online for DS...I wont be able to do it this week so I'm posting it here to remind me.

How are we all?

ChestyNut · 30/09/2013 18:58

Good idea farrow

First day back at work was a long one.

Do you think I could be a professional SAHCS ( stay at home christmas shopper)?

farrowandbawl · 30/09/2013 19:02

If only we could get paid for doing that Chesty...actually...

Anyway. How was your first day back?

ChestyNut · 30/09/2013 19:48

It was ok thanks. Seemed very long.

Think it's safer in here, MN is batshit crazy in parts ATM Sad

farrowandbawl · 30/09/2013 20:27

I know Chesty. I left for a bit because I couldn't stand the benefit bashing any longer.

I came back to advice someone on something that I'd been through and wanted to help. I try to stay away and hide all the benefit threads now. They get seriously weird.

ChestyNut · 30/09/2013 20:37

I just don't geddit.

Peace and love and christmas tree baubles and all that.

It's a shame that people leave. I just avoid the threads that make me froth.

Pleased you came back Thanks

farrowandbawl · 30/09/2013 20:50

*advise

(I also left as I was sick of my spelling and grammar being picked up on)

I can't be bothered with it anymore Chesty. I've had enough of it in RL too.

ChestyNut · 30/09/2013 20:57

People being unkind in RL you mean?

I don't understand the grammar police either, it's not an exam.

Maybe we could stay in here all year Grin

farrowandbawl · 30/09/2013 21:01

Not unkind just, saying things without thinking. I have a friend who I like, but she's guilty of this and then adding at the end - "but not you though, you're different"...after ranting about so called benefit scroungers. Normally I can ignore it but it's getting harder, it's just lazyness on my part at the moment that's stopping me from saying something.

I have been in this secition over the year. Especially when feeling a bit low and needed a Christmas fix.

ChestyNut · 30/09/2013 21:05

It's easy to judge when you haven't had to walk a mile in someone's shoes IYSWIM?

Life's tough out there for a lot of people. Rise above on our cloud of tinsel Grin
