I know, it's just draining, predictable and boring. I avoid that entire subject when with her now...mind you, I avoid that subject with most people.

Clouds of tinsel, snowdrops of glitter, bauble trees...I like this thought.

ChestyNut · 30/09/2013 21:12

What's on DS list this year? Remind me how old?

Think we will def need another thread nearer christmas. Can't believe how full this ones getting Grin

farrowandbawl · 30/09/2013 21:16

I'm not sure Chesty, I can't read his handwriting - he's only just started to get interested and making more of an effort with it. He's 10.

So far I've worked out:

A nerf gun
a few lego city sets
a helecopter
robotic puppy
starwars on dvd

DD just wants baking stuff, music, earphones and icing bags. Confused

farrowandbawl · 30/09/2013 21:16

what's on your list?

ChestyNut · 30/09/2013 21:19

Baking stuff is lovely but then you have to eat it.

Yummy but no good for my waist line Grin

How olds DD?

At least DS list is sensible, I remember asking for a pony Hmm

ChestyNut · 30/09/2013 21:20

Ooooooh there's a christmas memories new Yankee candle! Smells delicious.

farrowandbawl · 30/09/2013 21:20

She'll be 13.

I remember asking for a pony. I'm sure DD asked for one once too. Grin

farrowandbawl · 30/09/2013 21:22

I smelt it today and almost ran out of the shop before I bought the entire lot. Christmas cookie, christmas memories, there's a merry marshmallow one that makes my mouth water...there's a few nice ones this year.

I can't justify buying more...I've not no room in the smelly cupboard to put them.

MamaPizza · 30/09/2013 21:23

Helloooooo mrs Great to have you back Smile

I want to be a SAHCS!!! Grin

Decorating going well, all prepped and ready to go. Painting day tomorrow, I'm striking and due to logistics can't join a rally, but will refuse to do any school related work until Wednesday morning (wish it was longer, am knackered!) so my strike day shall be used constructively by creating a Scooby Doo room. My son has good taste Grin

It's October tomorrow, eeeeek! Get Halloween out of the day quickly and off we go.

ChestyNut · 30/09/2013 21:25

My house is lit up like a christmas tree in an effort to burn some off before birthday and christmas so I can justify having more.

Also looking forward to lush relaunching snow fairy for christmas. Smells divine.

farrowandbawl · 30/09/2013 21:28

I hope you get what you aim for Mama. Striking seems to be the only way anyone listens to anything.

OMG I forgot about Lush...I might just have to get some of that for DD in the Christmas eve hamper. Thanks Chesty.

ChestyNut · 30/09/2013 21:29

Evening mama

Scooby bedroom sounds fantastic!
Is DS off tomorrow too?

ChestyNut · 30/09/2013 21:30

Have you seen the snow fairy wand farrow?

farrowandbawl · 30/09/2013 21:31

I'm going to have to leave you all now. I'm nodding off on the sofa and need to go to bed and I've got a headache from not wearing my glasses while on the laptop. (ds hasn't been sleeping again).

Sweet christmassy dreams everyone, see you all tomorrow x

farrowandbawl · 30/09/2013 21:31

No I haven't Chesty - I'll keep an eye out for it.

Night xx

ChestyNut · 30/09/2013 21:34

Night all x

ChestyCoffin · 01/10/2013 07:05

Oooooooooh it's October!

Thought I'd slip into my Halloween name Grin

MamaPizza · 01/10/2013 07:23

Good morning to October! Two months until we open the first advent calendar door Grin

DS's school is open, mine is closed. Will drop him off later and then I'm ready to go. Let's hope the strike achieves something. Not just for us teachers, but also for the pupils who are in a system where they are only data to hit targets. I feel for them.

ChestyCoffin · 01/10/2013 18:46

It's all going to the dogs mama health, education the lot.

Has anyone seen True blood? Might give it a go tonight.

giraffeseatpineapples · 02/10/2013 01:15

Hi can I join in - I love christmas and christmas eve esp Love the carols, decorations, making gingerbread house with the children, wrapping presents (dp likes to help but we have different techniques and end up arguing!) busy shops, starbucks red lattes, schmaltzy films .... a bit commercial and hollywood I guess but its not all about spending money honest! Its always funny how the christmas feeling comes through something different every year and usually from something unplanned - last year I think it was after christmas when we were playing spot the christmas tree lights to divert the dc from moaning about how far we were walking.

I have started buying presents online, last year I went a bit crazy on MSE and hot deals looking for bargains. PS nanny plumb i agree about missing the loaded down with carrier bag thing though. Last year I was a bit dissapointed by the lack of cheesy christmas music in the shops when I did go to them! I will be heading to the high street in pusuit of christmas jumpers and pjs soon though.

Last year I bought some ebay sylavian things for my youngest, I was planning to make a bit of a christmas village decorate a house with tree battery lights, put cotton wool snow on the roof etc but I ran out of time and I had enough presents as it was Blush so decided to save it. I will have to get started on that asap for this christmas. It might have to be a present from mummy and daddy though incase the dc see any of the evidence and figure out I made it, hmmmm its going to be a big present though so would like it to be from st nick... maybe if I get it made and out of the way in oct they wont put two and two together. (The youngest dd is 3 at the end of the month and also dd 6 and ds 8)

ChestyCoffin · 02/10/2013 21:05

Welcome giraffes

Thanks
FavoriteThings · 02/10/2013 21:14

Can I just pop my head round the door and wave? Dont think I would want to do daily updates, but I could manage a bulletin every so often if that is ok?
Done 2 lots of stocking filler type shops. Awaiting my not so young kids any more to give me their lists so am a bit stuck for the time being. I may not be quite so enthusiastic as some of you on here!

ChestyCoffin · 03/10/2013 11:12

favourite the door is always open Grin
It often goes quite in here. Once it's December we usually have how many sleeps threads.

Day off today and have a few ideas of presents I need to get, typically the shops are at opposite corners of town......can I be bothered?

Currently still in PJs watching 25 years of This morning.

DSJamesHathaway · 03/10/2013 18:10

I ordered more presents yesterday and some Christmas decorations that I ordered (from a recommendation on another thread) arrived today Smile

giraffeseatpineapples · 03/10/2013 18:45

Hi chesty Smile

Think I have pretty much bought middle dds presents now Shock

We have planted some purple bedding plants in a large black pot for the front door so I am thinking if they are still in flower round christmas I might make a wreath with purple bows? Is that taking things a bit too far Grin
