ChestyNut · 25/09/2013 16:50

Yes I decided to stick with Chesty for now. Just fancied something witty.

Saving for holiday of a lifetime no 2 to Florida Grin
It was fantabulous.

Oh my i have the RAAAGE today PMT combined with unsuccessful christmas shopping has just topped the day off!

Why can't people either say exactly what the want or have grace to smile and nod at the festive socks? Angry

Anyone got a tranquilliser gun?

farrowandbawl · 25/09/2013 18:47

Hello my lovlies - I was thinking about this thread earlier.

How are you all?

ChestyNut · 25/09/2013 21:26

Yay!

We're just missing mrs now....shall we convene a search party?

farrowandbawl · 27/09/2013 10:02

I'e just ordered my TREE!!!

linky

I'm getting my Home Alone tree again. (Fraiser Fir).

The best bit is...I save up the penny jar all year round, cash it in and that pays for the tree so I don't even notice the money that paid for it. I've still got enough left to buy another present too.

ChestyNut · 27/09/2013 10:12

Oh my! That's a lovely tree Envy

We have a fake one.

What colour decorations are you doing?

farrowandbawl · 27/09/2013 11:42

Clear and white again, with the odd bit of wood and red thrown in.

I spent a fortune replacing all the decorations over the past couple of years, I'm not going to change it anytime soon. The only new ones I'll be getting are 2 handblown ones that the kids can choose (they choose a decoration every year - by the time they move out they will have a nice collection of their own with the ones they have chosen)

What theme are you having this year?

ChestyNut · 27/09/2013 11:55

Going to stick with red and gold, as you say it's so expensive to replace all at once.

Fancied silver and teal tho Sad

farrowandbawl · 27/09/2013 11:59

Silver and teal sounds really nice.

Red and gold is traditional though - always a classic christmassy theme. Maybe you could buy the odd silver bit every now and again, so that goes with the red and gold, then next year, buy more silver and a couple of teal bits to put to one side?

Johm Lewis have some lovely bits in at the moment - ranging from £1-4 each...it's worth having a look. House of Fraiser and Debenhams, Next as well.

ChestyNut · 27/09/2013 12:18

Aaaaaargh don't encourage me because I'm this far >< from running round the range with a basket filled with new decorations Grin

farrowandbawl · 27/09/2013 12:59

OK sorry....

(Sainsburys will have some nice silver baubles in soon)

Countdowners, I have finally found my tribe!

Have started teaching DD christmas songs. She is well versed in "simply having a wonderful christmas time" and "i believe in father christmas" we are starting on slade tomorrow.

DP is doing his chestynut ;)

farrowandbawl · 27/09/2013 13:58

Don't forget:

White Christmas
Santa Clause is coming to town
Have a Merry Christmas
Rudolf the red nosed reindeer
Jingle bells

ChestyNut · 27/09/2013 14:05

nanny are you in disguise?

Oooh my fave christmas song is fairy tale of New York, maybe bit inappropriate for small DC?

It is never too early for carols Grin

Tell me I cannot go into town christmas shopping 3 days in a row in September, please!

farrowandbawl · 27/09/2013 14:10

Sorry Chesty, no can do. On 4th day here.

Fairy Tale of New York is great. If it's playing when my Christmas partner in crime and I are out shopping, we'll sing it badly at the top of our voices. Just because we can.

I've been listening to Christmas songs most of the year now.

NannyPlumForPM · 27/09/2013 14:36

Nope no disguise sorry Smile just missed the beginning of the countdown. Have only moved onto internet shopping recently... I miss the feel of carrier bags not a fetish

NannyPlumForPM · 27/09/2013 14:38

She mastered jingle bells last year farrow but she will have turned 3 this year so i think its time to move on hehe

hermioneweasley · 27/09/2013 14:43

I have found my people!

I am planning a trip to hobbycraft this weekend to make felt Xmas decorations.

My homemade vanilla extract is doing whatever it does (extracting I guess). I have ordered my Cath Kidston Xmas Organiser (less than £10 on Amazon)

stuff for kids' stocking is bought as are their Xmas jumpers and DS's big present.

Xmas PJs are purchased.

Cards and wrapping paper were purchased in last year's sale, but I also bought some plain brown paper to do grown up/elegant wrapping with festive ribbon.

I coukd have it tomorrow I tell you, I am so bloody organised this year!

ChestyNut · 27/09/2013 15:05

Welcome ladies Smile
