It's just that I'm, y'know, in need of a Christmas spreadsheet template, advice on present buying, suggestions on using up the last of the sales, jam recipes for hampers, canape recipes to try out before the big day, and...... You get the picture.

OK, I admit it, I just love Christmas and want to talk about it.

After three Christmases (sp?) away from home, where we DIDN'T EVEN GET TO DECORATE the house, we will be spending Christmas here. The DC are young enough not to properly remember Christmas At Home so this year I plan to indulge in my love of the Season and go all out.

So will be anxiously awaiting the famous ponce thread!!

Right then. The Poncetastic Christmas will start on September 25th, exactly three months before Christmas. Of course you may discuss Christmas before then, but if you try to Poncetastic it I will sue you. No, really. I will.

Oh no - I got all excited seeing a Christmas thread which meant I could tell people how Ive just traded in two mobiles and using them and my nectar points Im getting a FREE NINTENDO 3DS for dd2 - and then I see its banned till September.

I do feel quite lazy now that I see some of youare making cakes already - I dont do mines till October.......

(will be getting in some gorge christmas dec ideas too)

Oh, well praps I should start it on 24/9 (I did last year acksherly but I thought the 25th had a nicer sort of symmetry to it ) and then you can come on a give yourself a plug, for Christmas present ideas.

I shall look forward to the Poncetastic Christmas 2011 thread, I shall be back from holiday and would love an update on last years makes i.e. did they get finished in time and were they a success.

I won't be able to ponce my Christmas as much this year (last involved oysters and half of nigella's christmas cookbook) as have said we will go to DM's this year. But I will be able to ponce about in wellies collecting holly and ivy to decorate the house (not much wild ivy in SW4!).

Free, can't you ponce a few edibles to take to your DM, or won't she allow that? (Mine would have been thrilled, as she didn't enjoy cooking that much, and she didn't 'do' baking for anyone.)

Home is a plane journey away so a bit trickier than just chucking stuff in the car.

I will get to do some food poncing but my DBros and extended family all have plain Irish tastes. Mum is sorta up for it but I don't like to take over as she gets a bit pissed off and humpy and then I get the piss taken for being an uppity snob ponce! Oh the traumas of having non-poncetastic parents! I will live, I'm sure.

Will just have to have a Christmas party instead!
