Just wondered what the norm is for the amount of times for hair washing per week

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

About once. Sometimes less. I shouldn't think this is average though

MissKubelik · 16/09/2008 13:25

Once a week is plenty for my three-year-old

megcleary · 16/09/2008 13:25

twice dd is one and still has bugger all hair

piratecat · 16/09/2008 13:26

twice. shoulder length hair, that's always in a plait these days, this seems to save it from food debris!!!

handbagqueen · 16/09/2008 13:29

Am I over-doing it as I wash both DD's hair every night at bath time. I just love the smell of freshly washed and conditioned hair!!

MamaG · 16/09/2008 13:29

twice a week, sometimes once. DS HATES it, DD doesn't really mind it

funkybumps · 16/09/2008 13:30

great, I was worried I wasn't washing my daughters hair enough as I only wash it once a week because she hates having it done. Glad to see I'm not the only one

three times a week at bath time - we can't seem to ahve a bath without getting hair wet so might as well wash it!

IdrisTheDragon · 16/09/2008 13:30

Both DS and DD aren't exactly keen on it either

JudgeNutmeg · 16/09/2008 13:31

Twice a week for the young'un on average. My 12yo showers and washes his hair every.single.morning.

StellaDallas · 16/09/2008 13:31

DD3 (6) once a week.
DD2 (8)and DD1 (11) wash their own hair two or three times a week.

OrmIrian · 16/09/2008 13:34

It was once a week for all of them until the beginning of this year, but now DS#1 is 11 and starting to suffer with slightly greasy hair so he does his twice a week.

whooosh · 16/09/2008 13:35

Once or twice a week although if DD (3) had her way it would be every night![weird child emoticon]

Jennyusedtobepink · 16/09/2008 13:36

Once a week, as I can only bear the hysteria one night a week. Dd absolutely hates it. Although if she gets food or something in it, I'll wash it.

Grudglingly.

cali · 16/09/2008 13:37

About 4-5 times per week, both dd's always end up with food etc in their hair, lovely!

Gobbledigook · 16/09/2008 13:37

I was going to ask this last night!

The boys have theirs washed about 3 times a week.

traceybath · 16/09/2008 13:37

About 3 times a week on average i guess.

schneebly · 16/09/2008 13:38

twice

donnie · 16/09/2008 13:39

once or twice.

BroccoliSpears · 16/09/2008 13:39

Once every 10 days or so. It's such a trauma for everyone involved that we leave it until she looks like a scaggy old bag lady and smells of armpit before pinning her down and getting it done. It's so beautiful once it's done too...

Niecie · 16/09/2008 13:40

Once a week. They still smell clean even after a week though!

DS1 is 8 now so I should think he will have to do it more often soon.

norksinmywaistband · 16/09/2008 13:41

Once a week unless there is something icky in it

cheesesarnie · 16/09/2008 13:41
