Called back to consultant after DS brain MRI

hello, my DS aged 7 has been having nausea, sickness and headaches since November and through lots of pushing managed to get an MRI which was on Monday eve - we were told to expect results in 2 weeks. Today I received a phone call from the paediatric consultants secretary asking myself and hubby to go in tomorrow at noon. I’m terrified. Has anyone else got experience of this? What’s scared me most is that they have asked me to bring hubby. They have requested that we don’t bring DS. I don’t even know what I’m asking for on this thread, maybe someone that has been in a similar situation? Thanks x

So glad that the op is done, and in record time it seems! Surgeons are clever clever people. Also sounds as though your DS has come through it relatively unscathed neurologically, which is fantastic news.

So glad to hear the surgery went well.
Fwiw, a colleague’s son had similar surgery over 20 years ago. He made a perfect recovery and went on to live a normal life.

thanks so much everyone! We were down getting him to sleep at 9.30am and the surgeon said to stay away until 4. At 3pm we received a call asking us to come back to sign consent for his mri which was ready to be done! I was amazed. Surgery had finished! He’s now in HDU and has spoken, is able to swallow, move his limbs etc . We are in Ronald Macdonalf house and it’s a god send. Surgeons said it went well, and we will have the results of the MRI tomorrow i think? Meeting with the surgeon at 7.30am xx

Bless you OP for taking the time to update us. I’ve been thinking about you and your son since your OP.

What a wonderful mum you are to have pushed so much so early. You have probably saved your son’s life and he is lucky to have you on his side xxx
