Has anyone been told it’s not with a dm then all of a sudden been awarded? Asking as I have been told it’s still in a pile but scan dates after me are with a dm already?

What's your scan date x

012345k · 13/03/2024 17:19

@oceanob 27/11. I have rang so many times now and keep getting told it’s in a pile and looking at April. I have asked if it’s with a dm yet and they have all said no

Yes tomorrow's job 😂 it's funny coz she asked for her reference number to bring her up on the system and I gave it to her x

I've seen on a previous thread where someone's child didn't have a NI number; their reference number was different, I think it started with a C, maybe, standing for clerical?

NI numbers take the format two letters, six numbers, one letter.

Haha ill keep you updated on anything I hear.
I just find it all so bizarre how they award people. There doesn't seem to a set criteria they follow. My friends boy has a heart problem since birth and is awaiting a Fontan, and cannot walk very far because of his oxygen levels veing low, so needs a buggy to get about. He's 4. They didn't award her anything until she appealed it!! Shocking really isn't it?
I wouldn't expect to get HRM as she can walk, she just refuses to if she is in a certain mood, and cannot be trusted to walk on her own, has no sense of danger at all.
I'll take a look, thanks 🥰 x

Yes likewise lovely! And it is so bizarre! I can’t believe that how awful is that! Well I can believe it but it’s awful! My daughter can walk and run and play and swim and is mobile! But has refusal episodes which aren’t “chosen” - they happen due to an arrested state of development that the autism causes which isn’t controllable. She will also do this in the house when it comes to bathtime, bedtime, middle of the night. Check the other thread I think my comment is page 37 😅 it’s all there! Also the decision makers aren’t even trained in disabilities or SEN needs and are told to deny a certain number every month. My friend had to have a meeting because they said she had accepted too many!! Awful! Xx

I'll check it now, thanks! Yes my daughter is the same!!
It's terrible that isn't it?? I'm a nurse and I know a few of my former colleagues went off to be pip assessors, they didn't stay long because of the way its like that. Its not fair! Xx

@Emma2345 @Margot82x
did either of you ask when your claim went to DM? I’m curious… it could have even been Monday afternoon and it’s been 2 days already 🙈 here’s hoping 😅

@Emma2345 @Shaf89 i didn’t ask 😫 all she said was the last update on the claim says it’s now with a decision maker, Im presuming it was sometime today, when I called yesterday and got through it was midday and was still in ‘holding pile’ so maybe could of gone to DM late afternoon.. xxx

Been on hold for 54 minutes and it’s 5:13pm, realistically what’s my chances of being answered? 😂

Did they ever answer you? X

Shaf89 · 13/03/2024 18:42

I’m think I will call in the morning again. I’m hoping my sons one has gone to DM later today too… would prefer to do all the UC updates in one go if they both get awarded!

Yes I did…. Then the dm called me Monday was awarded…. Daughter has adhd and autism diagnosed.

012345k · 13/03/2024 18:48

@Holllymum thank you thts good to know. My son has a diagnosis of Autism, Dylexia and has had anxiety since 2years old. He also suffers with bad bowels and has been seen by a paediatrician for night terrors as he is nearly 13. Not sure if they need to know to support his claim but all of this affects his care needs. When did yours go to a dm and what week was you awarded?

It literally went Monday she called me to ask me some questions my daughter is 12 and she’s been awarded Hrc. Lrm. Apparently as soon as they hang up your awarded

012345k · 13/03/2024 19:14

@Holllymum thank you for that. My son is on the wait list for a ADHD assenment and all the paperwork sent in for that. Worried it will be a decline but hearing your story fills me with some confidence. What’s your scan date please x

Mumto2kiddos · 13/03/2024 19:24

I called today scan date 22/11 and was told it was with CM and should have an answer by next week

Mine was 16/11 I totally understand my wait felt like forever… the dms are lovely… not like the call handlers… you’ve to this it won’t be long hopefully

DanDan85 · 13/03/2024 20:16

@oceanob My daughter was declined on monday too, for absence seizures and focal aware seizures (not official but thats what the neurologist thinks they are). I was told she doesnt need more care than any other 15 year old, but if shes alone it can be very dangerous. We battle on too. Good luck! Xx

DanDan85 · 13/03/2024 20:18

Can anyone give their experience with UC, eg. How long it took to be paid, did they backdate it?, how far?

The reply I received was:
Hi Danielle,

We are currently awaiting your children being verified on your claim from the changes you have reported.

Once they have been verified you can then ask us to request the backdating of the disabled child premium and we can then send this for a decision for you.

Regards
Ann

012345k · 13/03/2024 20:31

@Holllymum thank you. I’m glad the wait is over for yourself and again nice to know the dms are not like the crows handling the calls. Really hope I hear by end of next week x

My daughters the same, but for different reasons. Told as doesn't use mobility equipment, doesn't have 1 to 1 support at school and takes over counter pain meds, she didn't qualify. None of those reasons, are actually criteria. They're just trying it on. Hope you've gone for mr? We have!

yes I have, I might be being daft but I really do think she’s entitled. I’ve asked her head of year if he’ll provide a letter detailing her medical issues and how they affect her at school and measures theyve put in place for her. Hes sent an email to ALL of Rubys teachers for their input so hope that carries some weight. They made s fuss about her not having 1-1 support, an ECHP or similar. Will also send all clinic letters, details of investigations etc. She’s goin to hospital tomorrow for 24hr EEG monitoring. I’ll also do a cover letter arguing with every single point theyve made. Good luck!
