@KerBear12 I'm now in a que I want to see if they've got my child's reference number through yet x

Concernedfriend2023 · 18/03/2024 11:12

Hi everyone. I feel I've made a mistake! My daughter's claim is up for renewal in early May. Was previously told not to send the renewal form in too early, as they do renewals differently and normally literally on the day before the old claim ends. So I sent it in last week which was 8 weeks before. Rang today to check it had been received and scanned, which it had, but the man I spoke to said it could take 12 weeks. Has anyone realistically not had their renewal looked at before their old award ends, when you sent it in with 8 weeks to go? Thanks!

3boysand2girls · 18/03/2024 11:12

Well that was just an absolute waste of an hour of my time lol x rang to ask if I had time to send in further evidence and a lovely guy btw Dominic asked when my claim was received I told him 31/1 he didn't even ask my childs name n said absolutely you've got at least 6 weeks to send more stuff in 😭 that got me no where

On hold for over an hour..
Lovely guy who told me it was awaiting a reference number for my little one, case was only assigned to someone new today 🤦🏼‍♀️ this is week 19 today and the second time I’ve been informed it’s a top priority. He did email the person whilst I was on the phone to chase it after I complained that her cancer treatment will have finished by the time I ever hear anything!
He did say he’d call me if he gets an update from the assigned person today.
Scan date 30/10 - appears if you’ve never claimed anything for your child before that’s why it takes longer 🙄 as they need an NI number (it’s why I’ve a clerical number)

Edited

Your the third October date I’ve seen that still hasn’t had a decision, that’s insane people in January are getting awarded it’s soo unorganised it’s unfair. I’m waiting for NI number too before it goes to anyone so mines going to be a longggg time. Scan date 20/11

Hi they usually prioritise renewals before their due to end so I rekon you will hear before it’s due to end hope this helps x

I guess it’s a positive you have a lot of time to send in more evidence to help your claim. But he still should have checked where about it is😂 xx

Honestly I wouldn’t believe that. The clerical ones are taking plus 20 weeks. There is still some October dates that are clerical waiting for a decision x

Did you get through? I'm currently calling, forms scanned 22/11

Alilly1991 · 18/03/2024 12:31

Hi, new to it all but been waiting since April 2023.

COC in April. Declined in December. mR done in December and I called today to ask about it and he said “it’s in the holding queue for the DM”

So what exactly does that mean? Does it mean it’s with a specific DM in their pile and waiting for them OR does it mean that it’s just in a generic queue for any DM? I’m desperate for answers now, so close to giving up if I get declined again 😥

little one is 6. Perthes disease, walks with a limp. Needs support to do activities. She has seizures day and night and doesn’t sleep at all. Requires changing or showering or assistance through the night A LOT. Pathway for being diagnosed ADHD. Help at school etc.

they declined her initially because she can get herself dressed and walk in a line, albeit slowly. So frustrating. I don’t think they read everything 😥
