Oh you’re not long after me at all. I was going to give a ring next week to see where it’s at but seeing dates on here I think I maybe better off waiting a few weeks x

Hi my son is autistic non verbal has global developmental delay still in nappies he is 4 soon. Iam still waiting for an award. Scan date 29/12. When was your scan date

My scan date is 20/11 for my 2 year old.
When my older son was 3 he was exactly like that non verbal in nappies and GDD. I applied a year ago for him he got HRC and his application was quick. So your son will defo get awarded hopefully HRC. Did you fill out the mobility section for him ?

TiredTilly · 15/03/2024 20:55

Shaf89 · 15/03/2024 16:25

Scan date was 22/11 - for my daughter I had the autism diagnosis paperwork.
for my son - I applied when he was 20 months but delays had been identified and was on waiting list to be seen for ASD. Didn’t have any other evidence. I did type up about 4 sides detailing aspects about them and their care.

Congratulations that’s amazing ☺️. Can I ask did your 20month old have nighttime care needs?

Summerrabbit · 15/03/2024 20:57

@BrickFawn im 12/12 & I think another poster is too!

Hey, yes. My son wakes up every night for about 3-4 hours. He refuses to sleep in a bed so me or his dad sleep with him on the living room floor. Obviously I had no proof of this to give but explained it fully. But his nursery manager and keyworker wrote on that section in the form and said how he falls asleep in nursery on the carpet, or bangs his head on his keyworker chest as he is always tired.
my daughter is much easier when it comes to bedtime. She likes a routine and has one so as long as I stick to it, she’s happy to abide. Failed with the little one clearly! 🙈

Thanks for replying. I had to follow this thread for my mental health. Ringing for an update is a nightmare. If you hear anything, pls let me know.

Summerrabbit · 15/03/2024 21:04

Yes will do, I haven’t rung them yet as I also have a PIP application for me that got declined so I’ve been preoccupied with asking for an MR for that! Really hoping I don’t have to do an MR for the DLA one too!

@Emmajm85 Thank you thats good to know hopefully mine will be with a dm aswell, i did try to phone today but had to cut it off whilst on school run. Fingers crossed for a decision for us by next week. my anxiety is through the roof with it. Ill be glad when its over with x

The wait times to get through are a joke. I’m going to try and hold off calling until end of next week now 😄 I’ve seen a lot on here get decisions with scan dates end of November the last few days, so we have to be getting so close now.
I know the feeling, the closer we get, the worse it’s getting 😅 Let me know if you get an update on yours 🤞 xx

if am not wrong the current waiting time for the claim to be allocated to a decision maker is 16 weeks then it depends on how long the decision maker takes. You could give them a call if you been waiting for 16 weeks

Hi, when did you apply for your son? I hope they award me HRC and I also filled out the mobility section, I want to apply under the smi route. Do you receive the mobility rate for your son and does he have night time needs? My son is up every couple of hours sometimes the whole night stimming.

FairLurker · 15/03/2024 22:20

I got the text on weds to say my boy qualifies, I had two generic letters before this and then the text on the 4th to say they were still looking at the claim. My scan date was 24/11 although I did send it a lot sooner than that it just took a while to get there so unsure if I will get back payment from when I called for the forms which is fine either way. Not sure of the rates yet as no letter and no payment. Seems as though decisions are being made roughly 2 weeks after the text. Good luck to everyone still waiting! Hopefully they sort something out to make the process a lot smoother for everyone!

I applied Feb 2023 and was awarded 10 weeks after. Yes I applied for mobility but they said they won’t award him as he is 3 and they will award him mobility at 5 I just need to apply for it when he turns 5. I didn’t know I could appeal for mobility until it was too late. I got soo much advice from citizens AB and all the specialists and they told me he would have definitely got LRM aswell as HRC. It sounds like your son is same as mine so they should award you HRC & LRM.
His sleep was atrocious he would sleep for about 2hrs per night but it’s getting a bit better now. I have my 2yr old who doesn’t sleep now, I can’t catch a break😩

they awarded you quick, I thought that the mobility rate starts from the age of 3 hrm and from the age of 5 lrm. Ugh I feel ya 😭 it’s hard. My sons got abit better too as he got older but he still wakes up. I didn’t submit any evidence when it comes to his night time needs, did you have any evidence at the time?

Yes you can get LRM at 3, I don’t know why the DM did that. I was clueless I didn’t know about appealing 😞. The only part about his night time care was what I wrote my experience was, also my family support worker wrote in the person that knows the child section. She added a sentence about his sleep. So no evidence just what I wrote really. Just depends if the DM believes you.
In my recent application for my 2yr old I did the same just wrote all about how bad his sleep is, I mentioned how he had a 2 hour sleep in a 48hr period being awake which I now regret because it sounds soo ridiculous and unbelievable but that is how we are living. So many neurodiverse kids just don’t sleep!!

Vickyxxx · 15/03/2024 22:47

@Emmajm85 I wont be phoning now either at least until next Friday then it will be 18 weeks. if i hear anything before i will let you know x

Mommy2boys30 · 15/03/2024 23:03

I sent off yesterday extra evidence with my sons name, date of birth and reference number at top of every page but didn't put address, will it still get accepted or do I need to re send the lot off again lol I did it special delivery so arrived this morning

Yes with the dms it all depends on whose desk it lands on. I hope they take my word for it because I didn’t Submit any evidence in regards to that. And with your son only sleeping 2 hours in 48 hours is common for neurodivergent children. My son did that the other day looool on the 3rd night he was so tired he slept for 13 hours straight. So don’t worry it doesn’t sound unbelievable xx

Hi I’ve sent in evidence and I didn’t put my address on any of the pages. Just reference number and my sons date of birth. So it should be ok xx

I’m glad it doesn’t sound unbelievable because I’ve been kicking myself thinking I shouldn’t have added those nights in my form. Hopefully the DM believes us🤲. Did you send off a sleep diary? I heard those are really helpful. I didn’t send one, it became too late I only found out you can send them last week.

Can anyone advise, when sending extra supporting evidence, is it just the child's name, date of birth and ref number at the top of the page?
Thanks in advance.

I sent evidence but only put his full name and address on I hope it still gets scanned, I'm worried now🤯
