30/11 here . Called for form 9/11. So I’m looking like I’m 2-3 weeks behind some

I am a bit confused, does the count for weeks start when you phone, when they receive and scan the form or from the date of the letters? See, I was told 21 weeks when I called (19/12) then had a letter saying 11 weeks (15/1) and this week had another letter saying 15 weeks! So I am not sure if it’s the weeks from the call, the form or from each letter they send 🤭
I don’t remember any of this happening on previous contact with them, I just sent the forms and waited 🥺

sjm100 · 03/03/2024 12:21

@Chickapea77 to be honest I dont think they know as everyone seems to get told different things but average at the moment seems to be 16 weeks to a decision maker then anything up to 2 weeks for a decision and date is from when they scanned the forms which is usually on the first letter you receive x

Omg im the same, had letter stating they received my forms on the 29th Nov but when I had to call just over a week ago she said I was at week 16 even though it should off only been 12 its proper confusion isn't it. Then she said I should hear something by middle off march. X

Hi just to give you all a bit of hope I was awarded Thursday after waiting 17 weeks! I didn’t give as much information as I should have but was still awarded! Not had back pay as of yet! I contacted the UC yesterday and she said I had to wait until I knew what rate my child gets awarded for them to consider any back pay (not sure what that means) but good luck to you all x

mummyof3girlsx · 03/03/2024 15:06

@Kezs79 same as me! 17weeks too xx put all details onto UC on Friday so just waiting for them to get back to me

It seems to be around the 15 week mark.

012345k · 03/03/2024 16:49

@MrsW12 @bonz2023 thank you both. I think I’m 14weeks now so still a fair few weeks to go. I called and spoke to someone a few weeks back and said I didn’t no I could claim for this until my son was diagnosed 6months ago with asd and they said well you know now! If I knew about Dla I would of claimed for this 10years ago :(

Did you call for the form? That’s what I meant maybe they start counting from the moment you call.
I have worked in finance and can imagine them opening a case/claim on the date someone first contacts them regardless of when they receive the actual form. That may explain why they told you you were at 16 weeks.
I suppose if I am on the second letter it’s a good sign 🤭

No as I called for my forms on October 12th n whn I called would off made it 19 weeks or so. My forms were sent in past the 6 weeks deadline due to the head from school taking them home to complete then was off ill for a few weeks. she dated them 2nd Nov and that was the date the caller counted from. A letter was put in my claim to explain why my forms were back late. So not sure tbh. X

STEPH691 · 03/03/2024 10:01

@lillyT83 am the 9th aswell it’s such a headache the wait. Going to ring at 9 they said was due to go to DM so praying it’s with one. Hopefully this is our last week. Xxx

Good luck, fingers crossed we hear soon. Its so stressful my twin 1 is already on DLA (done a coc for her 28th Nov) and that took 3 months! Apparently coc are taking even longer at approx 28 weeks! The one I sent on the 9th Nov is for twin 2 and first claim but feel really stressed with two going on. Twins are deffo double the trouble 😂 hopefully over the next week or two we will hear. I was going to ring tomorrow but seeing everyone gets told different; I don't think I will bother. Good luck everyone x

STEPH691 · 03/03/2024 17:34

@bonz2023 am hoping we might not make the next thread. 😂😂 but I think me and you are in longest holding pile the slowest DM. 🤦‍♀️

STEPH691 · 03/03/2024 17:36

@lillyT83 oh couldn’t even imagine the stress your under with two claims. Hope you get your answer soon 🤞🤞
