No she didn't mention the reasons on the phone.
I'm guessing it's because I didn't have evidence?
Yeah I think I'm gonna MR it but I'm currently in slow pre term labour at 29, weeks with no waters so this stress isn't helping 😭
little one suffers bad hypermobility and her joints dislocate all the time, there also looking into elhers danlos syndrome as her other symptoms too
Just fed up of constantly fighting this sort of stuff 😭

rosey1993 · 08/02/2024 17:35

@Jonesy0102 scan date was 03/10 x

Emma2345 · 08/02/2024 18:43

@rosey1993 hi do u not have any evidence at all even letters for appointments would be good or maybe any A&E discharges or GP or consultant to write a letter to explain she’s being referred for testing for elder syndrome excetra something would be better than nothing definitely do a MR xx

I phoned this morning and was with a decision maker, how long should I leave it before asking for another update? The waiting is so hard isn't it

surreygirl1987 · 08/02/2024 20:42

My letter says 15 weeks wait. I rang up and asked about sending in extra evidence (son now has an ADHD diagnosis) and she said send it in but that will push the wait time up to 21 weeks. Is this what others have experienced? Would you send in the additional evidence or just hope for the best?

rosey1993 · 08/02/2024 21:03

@Emma2345 I have loads of appointment letters but I thought you couldn't send them 😬 ive also got a letter from nursery saying how many days she misses due to her condition etc.
How do I go about a&e discharges? I've never received any?
Think I'll phone gp and get a letter from him tomorrow too

Emma2345 · 08/02/2024 21:14

@rosey1993 hey hun I have the my MFT so I usually screen shot or print them but before I had that I requested my sons gp notes it’s free to do and they will have all the reports sent from a&e and not only that from who or what ever specialists or people she has seen due to her condition or possible conditions I sent all appointment letter over you can send them as In the form it asks about awaiting tests or appointments excetra your gp will derfinityl be able to help especially because he will have all the information to say your child is being referred and tested for this condition this child has been to a&e X Y Z times because of bone dilocation excetra everything that happens thru the NHS to do with your child even health visitor appointments and outcomes your GP will always get a report hope this helps xx

CometCupidDonnerBlitzen · 09/02/2024 05:28

Congrats, hope it was the award you were looking for! Also the 19th must be the first one I've seen past my own scan date and I'm suddenly feeling very nervous! 😂

Could I pick the brains of the collective please? Our scan date was 11/10. So we're 17 weeks and 2ish days waiting. I called a few weeks ago because I was thinking of sending the document our SENCO filled in for our EHCP application. I ticked that we didn't have an EHCP on the original forms, because it hadn't even been discussed back in October. Obviously I would still tick the same now but I absolutely would write that we were in the process of applying for one.

When I called they told me on the phone awards were taking around 20 weeks and I still had time to send it. However on consideration I realised that our first meeting about the EHCP would be before the DLA decision and if we didn't get it and a decision maker ended up calling me for any reason having an EHCP rejected at the first round could look bad for us.

As it happens our meeting was yesterday and we have been granted an assessment from the caseworker officer. In all honesty it's the most heard we've ever felt when discussing our daughters needs. He wasn't talking about if we get the EHCP but more like when. Last night I was sent the EHC assessment discussion notes by e-mail and it looks like really good bullet-pointed evidence to me - and on council headed paper too! It's the sort of thing I would have loved to include in our original DLA application.

Given how close we seem to be getting to a decision is this still worth sending or do I hold this back in case we need to do a MR? I could call them this morning but I don't want to waste my time if it's just too late now.

Looks like 15 weeks of HRC & LM + £10 Christmas payment x

Gracie1909 · 09/02/2024 06:42

@rosey I went to my GP and they printed off all of my daughter's a&e admissions and also all our gp history since 2020. It was about 200 pages long but I sent it all to DLA. I would do this if I was u when re applying. It only took 15 mins and I had them to take away with me then. They literally include every single thing all dated and timed etc so perfect for the DM Tom see when u have attended and why. X

Emma2345 · 08/02/2024 15:10

@Helenmelon74 hi yes you can claim full element of disabled child if accepted by dla for HRC you would get £456 universal credit disabled element and for any other rate dla you would get £168 I think it is however the careers through uc you wouldn’t be eligible for because of LCWRA I am currently on the same and get the disabled child element but can not claim the carer part hope this helps x

Thank you so much for your reply x

FlutterByASD · 09/02/2024 07:48

I received my award letter yesterday and my daughter has been awarded until 2029. I wonder if maybe they do shorter awards depending on the child's age? Just wanted to add I applied for carers allowance last week and requested that they back date it to the day of my daughters DLA claim, even though online it says they only back date it 3 months they have actually backdated it 25 weeks. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Hayz0711 · 09/02/2024 07:59

@FlutterByASD My son has been in receipt of DLA for last 12 years. Our initial claims were always 3 years long, his last one was 6 years. Only I’ve had to do a CoC!🤦‍♀️
It does depend on age & diagnosis. Just hope they award my son what he needs & until he’s 16, that way I don’t have to apply for DLA anymore! PIP is much better suited to his diagnoses. Good luck everyone! X

Same Exact date as you are. what area in uk are you and do you know why what area you live in is significant as I’ve seen people asking others when they’re awarded x
