With universal as they take me and my partner's earnings into account, we don't receive alot off them currently, so if they count the dla payment I will now receive each month for my daughter, will they class that as income and they will take more off us but we technically wud get it back off DLA?

Dla isn't counted as income, the only thing they take pound for pound is carers allowance

Gracie1909 · 01/02/2024 21:49

My head has absolutely fell off with it all. U ladies have been a god send thankyou x

Gracie1909 · 01/02/2024 21:50

Asif the forms arnt hard enough! And In between all this having a child with extremely challenging behaviours and still trying to sort everything out is super hard. Life's tough 😫 x

Gracie1909 · 01/02/2024 21:52

My daughter got awarded until the day before her 17th birthday, so I'm presuming that's when we have to apply for PIP. And it all starts again. Thank god for these forums to help us all along the way 💖💖 xxx

Same scan date as me. Finally rang up today my little was awarded high rate care. Low mobility. Good luck shouldn't be to much longer. I never got a text neither but was awarded 30th Jan. X

Ashh1998 · 02/02/2024 00:53

@Siobhangrace I've heard anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks with a DM

Mastersstudent83 · 02/02/2024 01:14

I just wanted to post on here to those of you who don't get the answer you were hoping for, don't give up. I applied 20/04/2023, sent detailed explanation of daily support needed, diagnosis reports, previous school reports etc. Waited 19 weeks. Claim was denied. Sent for MR. This time sent all evidence again plus more comprehensive explanation of daily support needed and supporting letter from highly specialist SALT. Waited for 3 weeks. Claim denied again. I was devastated but knew there must have been a mistake.

Sent all evidence to tribunal service (14 documents in total), lodged my appeal in December. Finally this week I received a phone call from a senior decision maker offering HRC LRM before tribunal. He was at a complete loss as to how the claim had been refused twice and apologised profusely. He said it was clear my daughter needed significant care throughout the day and night. The award has been backdated to the day I called for the forms. I know it's soul destroying when you get bad news but take it all the way to court if you have to. Hopefully it won't come to that for any of you.

Hi does anyone know if the wait time goes from the date that stamped on the form or the day they were scanned?

Margot82x · 02/02/2024 05:05

@Mastersstudent83

I’m sorry for the fight you have had, it really shouldn’t be like this. Im glad you’ve finally been awarded what you’re child deserves ❤️ xx

It goes from the date stamped on the form if you rang up and requested it (I assume you have) and then returned It within 6 weeks from that date

DalesDoll1 · 02/02/2024 07:52

Question about scan dates just so I'm sure...

Is the scan date the one that says on the first letter "Thank you for your claim for Disability Living Allowance. We got it on 29/09/2023" so the 29th is the scan date?

Thanks everyone!

Scan date 29/9

Still heard nothing. I don't want to call because the texts say not to and I would feel guilty lol and I don't have much patience for being kept on hold.

Can the backpay hit your account at any time of day?

mez2004 · 02/02/2024 08:20

@Downtoyou your not on your own I’m 26/09 and still waiting! A lot of middle/ late Octobers have been awarded now so it’s frustrating but I’m trying to hold on to hope. I’m not sure if backpay can go in throughout the day but I’m checking constantly lol! Good luck.

mez2004 · 02/02/2024 08:21

@Siobhangrace Any news on yours lovely?

You sound just like me 😂

TamGirl89 · 02/02/2024 08:27

That's a good point. Can back pay go in anytime through the day or just overnight? Anyone know?
