Scan date 30/08. Haven’t received an approval text nor has any money been paid into my account so have no idea if the application is with a DM yet. I’ve lost the will to live with trying to get through on the helpline so will have to patiently wait. Hearing others with scan dates around this time have been awarded gives me hope.

My little girl (6) has epilepsy and her neurologist advised yesterday that we may need to go down the surgical route to try and stop the seizures 😔 Hoping her application is approved and she gets the help she needs to take the pressure off a bit. I hope all our children on here get the help they need x

My son transferred to PIP last year, from DLA, all went smoothly, now new claim for my daughter, scan date 23/10, waiting the long wait!

Holllymum · 10/01/2024 20:42

April202 · 10/01/2024 20:43

Same as mine with all same text dates

Kellyfoo12345 · 10/01/2024 21:19

called for forms 28/9
scanned 30/10
first letter 17/11
second letter 17/12
no texts

skelter83 · 10/01/2024 21:32

Scan date 30/8
Received payment today. No message, just there in my bank account when I looked this morning.

Kellyfoo12345 · 10/01/2024 21:53

i see people having issues with back pay correct me if i'm wrong but if you apply for carer's allowance from dla award date wouldn't this result in an overpayment for those already on uc as its means tested ?

Hi I've finally got an appointment for my daughters adhd assessment should I phone and let them know I did send her referral letter as evidence I only phoned today to see if they got my extra evidence and if it is close to getting looked at scan date 19/09 thank you

Yes, because Carers allowance is taken £4£ from UC.

They will either take an amount each month from the UC to pay it back or if you are due a back payment of disabled child and carer element of UC they will take it from the UC back pay.

Hope that makes sense

i thought so, no point in claiming it,

Been watching this thread for months. Have 2 new claims scan dates 29-08 and 26-09.
recieved text yesterday confirming award for august claim. Total of 18 weeks 6 days.

called this morning daughter has been awarded LRC. I need to pop a message on universal credit to let them no but I’ve no idea what to say. I’m under the impression the carers element won’t be included because she only gets LRC? Can someone with any knowledge please help? Not sure what to write in the journal.

defo looks like the last week of august are being done now so hopefully not long for you guys. Received my text yesterday at 14:53.

On your UC account, go to report a change, then children and other people who live with you, select your child and complete the change from the award date. Then go to your journal and ask for the disabled child element to be backdated. It's £146 a month for low rate care, so you'll have approx. £600 back pay. You can only get the caring element if there is middle or high care award.

Pennyannabel8 · 10/01/2024 23:17

Hi all, I hit 18weeks today scan date 6/9
Rang yesterday, what a nightmare, disconnected 7times before eventually put on hold for over an hour. Not with a DM yet but also my new evidence I sent hasn't been scanned either. Does anyone know if I can ask them to put a note on saying additional evidence sent and not to make a decision until it is?

NikkiJD · 10/01/2024 23:18

Thanks for your message. I did it yesterday but yet to hear anything as of yet. Wasn’t sure what the rates are so Thankyou for letting me no 😊

Skelly201 · 11/01/2024 00:49

Scanned 14/08 and still not heard anything

Justanotherboymum89 · 11/01/2024 02:15

Parking myself here patiently waiting

applied 3 times never sent forms first 2(second was because I lost my mum and just couldn’t focus) finally did it this time

rang for forms 13/09
scanned 25/10
had 2 letters, no texts.

sent letters from early help, a child counsellor and something from sendco but he’s still undiagnosed asd/adhd(finally gave appointment this month after 9 years begging)

also milk intolerant, asthma and eczema which are all diagnosed.

hoping to hear soon, we’ve been on a reduced timetable since October and I had to give up my job as we have no one to help 💔

TeamNoSleepHere · 11/01/2024 02:57

Sent form 21/8/2023
Scan date 1/9/2023

2yr old with suspected autism. Sent in evidence from paeds, SALT, portage, audiology, HV.

Was told by rep on phone on 21/12/2023 that I should expect a decision by beginning of March 2024?? ... That would be a 6 month wait!!

Just checked bank account (11/01/2024) & surprisingly found they’d paid in backdated DLA!! No text or letter yet.

kcg24 · 11/01/2024 05:15

@Kellyfoo12345 backpay of carers element not carers allowance

Loup19863 · 11/01/2024 06:24

@TeamNoSleepHere do you mind me asking what rate you’ve been awarded? I’m waiting on a decision for my 2 n half year old, same as what you’ve described with your little one, I’ve been expecting a decline because of his age so really pleased to hear your little one the same age has been awarded. Sent evidence off SALT, HV, nursery, section 23 letter x

StephXx1 · 11/01/2024 07:13

@Pennyannabel8 yes ring first thing and ask them too put the note on of what evidence you have sent in xx

patiencehope · 11/01/2024 07:50

Hello all,

long time silent follower.
scan date 30/08
went to DM last Thursday and was awarded Mrc and Lrm on Tuesday just gone.
I didn’t receive a text to say my child had been awarded, I only found out by calling.
good luck all.

Gemma111 · 11/01/2024 08:24

24/08 still nothing at all thinking it's a decline. Have a feeling I have a decline letter on the way 😔 this wait is unbearable, feeling for those still waiting before me.

StephXx1 · 11/01/2024 08:38

@Gemma111 when did you call last? X

Gemma111 · 11/01/2024 08:39

Tried to call yesterday and was cut off after waiting ages to get through. Going to try again at 9 and hope I get through this time.
