First time poster

scan date 22/9 can’t believe how anxious I feel , worried I’ve filled the form in wrong as well hopefully not much longer to wait 🤞

Nonamenoplacetogo · 19/01/2024 08:26

@Mamaof4boysxo I've been lurching here and I have a scan date if 7/9 and no news since a text on 18/12. To be honest I expect to be turned down as it would just continue the terrible few years I've had

It really is gut wrenching waiting😓x

Can someone help me work out the rates from the back pay I received, I can't work it out and want to know what she's awarded. Thank you x

Use google to see what the rates are then divide the full amount you got by the amount of weeks you’ve waited this should make it clearer you also get £10 for the Christmas bonus don’t forget

mumto3withasd · 19/01/2024 09:43

i got through 10 minutes ago to a really patronising women who proceeded to work out how long ive waited even though i told her that first then tell me that the computers are down!! so over it now.

Scan date 25/09. I am endlessly refreshing my bank app!

Me too! Any free time I have is spent circling between my banking app or this thread haha fingers crossed for everyone today.

LMummy38 · 19/01/2024 09:49

Scan date 22/9 rang this morning to add some evidence.
Main system is down but they managed to add notes to it and said not with case manager yet.

Leahanne1232 · 19/01/2024 09:52

for those that put school down do they always ring them? I'm nervous I didn't explain enough on the forms but she's in a specialist nursery so I'm really hoping they call them, I just don't have it in me currently to fight it if she's declined with everything that's going on x

Mamaof4boysxo · 19/01/2024 10:01

Scan Date 8th Sept
Just came off the phone to a lovely lady whose informed me that my boy has been awarded on the 17th :') keep going mamas x

Asking on the journal is what you should do but may take some time but you should get back pay! x

Skelly201 · 19/01/2024 10:48

@TanSav95 i did all of this 2 days ago, and had a message on my journal yesterday saying the decision maker has accepted the reasons and I will be paid the back pay by monday, literally less than 24 hours for me x

Skelly201 · 19/01/2024 10:51

@LmumL look at the bottom of the picture I just posted, I did that and less than 24 hours later they have updated my statements from august 2023 and give me an underpayment which I will get on monday x

Thank you girllll! Just happy it's over with now, I feel it for anyone whose not yet been awarded its an agonising wait but its worth it, thank you guys so much just for being in this limbo with me!❤️

TanSav95 · 19/01/2024 11:03

Thanks I have done all that, I can’t ask for carers element as my partner claims that for me and I claim it for my son so we won’t be allowed to claim it for my daughter I don’t think. In my journal they have replied saying that they are just waiting for it to be verified and then they will send it to a decision maker

NikkiJD · 19/01/2024 11:29

I have the exact same issue. They wrote to me on the 13th Jan on journal saying it’s been added but still no back pay!

Hayz0711 · 19/01/2024 11:49

Scan date 19/10 COC form. Had 2 letters, one saying 11 weeks, the last one said up to 15 weeks. Currently 13 weeks 1 day!

Hayz0711 · 19/01/2024 12:03

@Claudb98 Mine was 19/10 for change of circumstances. Was originally told 11 weeks, then up to 15 weeks. Haven’t heard anything since

Hannz40 · 19/01/2024 12:15

Hi I've been a silent watcher my scan date was 8/9/2023 the first time I rang up for a update was today to be told my little girl has been awarded yesterday sigh of relief after all this wait and she said i will recieve a letter in post in 7 days so do I wait for the letter to update UC? Good luck to everyone waiting really hoping you get the good news soon 🙏

Ilovemychildren123 · 19/01/2024 12:19

@Aussielover apologies I didn’t see your message yesterday my little one is 4. If you are already in receipt of DLA you will need to complete a change of circumstances I did this as we were on MRC and I felt he deserved HRC & HRM they moved him to HRC after change of circumstances but not HRM so then I completed an MR and asked them to look again. I asked nursery for supporting letter as they said I hadn’t detailed the severe impairment or behaviours enough. They wrote me a letter just saying what he does at nursery and if he wasn’t supported would run off or be confused as to where he was and that he needs a 1:1 with him to move through the nursery. They also wrote he has a PEEP plan (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan) in place as he has no understanding so they use this to make sure he is safe and he is assigned a staff member for this. I also had a letter off the paediatrician stating that he pinches himself at times which could be down to being anxious etc. sorry for the essay x

EarlofShrewsbury · 19/01/2024 12:39

Something worth checking out if it applies to you...

I have 2 kids of the same sex so the local authority says they can share a bedroom. I live in a 3 bed so have been paying bedroom tax as only entitled to a 2 bed.

Now DD2 is in receipt of dla they have agreed that she needs her own bedroom and have changed the entitlement to 3 bed, meaning I no longer have to pay the bedroom tax.

@Ilovemychildren123 no thank you for the essay because I strongly believe my little one deserves it too and I completely appreciate your guidance x The extra funding will get him a specialised buggy which will cost thousands due to his over stimming and needs modifying to suit his needs xx
I have evidence starting to build I just didn't want to ask for a letter in case they judged me for applying I didn't know about this criteria until a charity actually suggested he met it and I looked into the criteria and agreed he did too I think most people hrm is for those with no legs/feet wheelchair etc because I used to think that also x also do you know if it's worth asking for a longer award or just wait for renewal in 1 year time x

Aussielover · 19/01/2024 12:57

Everyone - with change of circumstances do you have to fill out the whole form again from start to finish or just update the extra care needs ?xx I want to request coc for mobility thank you xx

Ilovemychildren123 · 19/01/2024 12:58

@Aussielover when I completed change of circumstances they moved my renewal date from November 2024 to November 2031 they don’t have to change the award length but I believe they do look at it x

Aussielover · 19/01/2024 13:13

@Ilovemychildren123 that's really good because now I have a diagnosis so early on they don't have that info so I'm going to give it to them xx I'll ask for a review on the date and ask for an extension because sadly asd and gdd isn't temporary it's diagnosed for life xx that's a fantastic extension xx thank you so much for giving me some help it means a lot to have people looking out for you and giving tips on what to send because sometimes you don't collect evidence do you, you just do what you can for them xx
