Scan date 4/10
15 weeks since Scan date today
Not had a text whole way through just 2 letters ..
Just got 1 text message today saying...We are still looking at your DLA1 Child claim. When a decision is made we will confirm it in writing. There is no need to contact us about it.

Is this case for anyone1 else no texts whole way through but now just got 1 after all this time

When people rceieved this text did they get a decision not long after
Thanks in advance

I think the whole thing is pretty random tbh. I sent mine for my son at start of September and had texts on 13/11, 5/12, 18/1 but no letters. With my daughter lay year I had one letter and two texts. I didn’t get a call, text or letter for either of them to say I’d been awarded, the money just appeared in my bank. Had my son’s money today so hoping for a letter before the weekend.

@ItsRalf
God the amount of times I've driven around at night to find my child is unreal.

In regards to the alternative provision I basically fought the system at every turn. I told them at every single meeting he wanted to go to early college and I wrote a letter to the head teacher and quoted their ethos to them and explained how they were failing him, how they had no consideration for his mental health and wellbeing and quoted them the government laws around education and the options he was entitled too by 'law' so after that they moved pretty quickly in finding him an alternative provision that me and him liked and all his end of term reports are AMAZING. The teachers at the provision fully understand that the school system is not for every pupil which was why I choose them as they actually understood. It was a long fight, almost 2 years but I refused to give up what was right for him.

Sarahdestiny · 17/01/2024 14:12

@ItsRalf same as me then hopefully it means it won't be long now fingers crossed hope you get the right decision have to let me no if you hear anything and I will let you no to x

Amycroft · 17/01/2024 14:29

It really does look like it's all just random!! Your scan date is late September yet some August scan dates haven't even been awarded yet, doesn't make any sense!

Amycroft · 17/01/2024 14:31

If they are just being pulled from a pile thne some of us could be here for months

Sarahdestiny · 17/01/2024 14:51

@tiredmum1989 yes I think it's random to cause seems like its all over the place with decision and that's good how yours didn't take to long congrats on the award hope it's the award you was hoping for x

I've heard that it basically is put on a pile on a decision makers desk, so some must get through their workload faster then others which makes sense as the dates are all over the place! I rang today and was told mine is with one so should hear this week or next but I'm honestly not holding my breath, my forms were scanned 13/09

Do you mean the 18th of the 12th? As its not 18/1 until tomorrow and I got a txt 18/12

Siobhangrace · 17/01/2024 15:13

@Whhhhaaathe same scan date has me

Daisy5991 · 17/01/2024 15:19

Do people ring for updates before the 20 weeks are up or wait until 20 weeks have passed to phone?
I’ve only been waiting 9 weeks so I’m very aware I’ve got a long way to go but I’ve had 2 letters since applying 1 of them being this week that say it’s taking up to 15 weeks but when I phoned to ask a question when applying it said 20 weeks?X

Keddie · 17/01/2024 15:23

@Daisy5991 you are unfortunately looking at least 20 weeks, i would hold off calling and try not to think to much about it! The whole process and time span will send you do lally !! xx

Yes sorry typo! 18/12 was my last text

Mummy2024 · 17/01/2024 16:04

Mine aswell I think they stop then because your supposed to have a decision by now 😆. Jokes aside I'm beside myself I really wish they would get a move on and give us an answer 19 weeks on Friday and still waiting I'm thinking if no decision has been made by Friday maybe ours will be looked at over the weekend but as I cannot call I don't even know where it is upto

BMumOf2 · 17/01/2024 16:55

Just an update, my scan date was 11/09, called up this afternoon as couldn't take the wait any longer and my daughter had a decision made on Monday for MRC & LRM, I've had 2 texts and 2 letters but did not recieve a decision text, so pleased my wait has finally come to an end! Hang in there everyone, looks like they are well on their way with September dates now x

Mummy2024 · 17/01/2024 17:04

I tried calling at 4pm because I'm out of patience myself and got the usual engaged tone... our scan date is the 8/9, you'll probably see the money in your bank tomorrow if the decision was made Monday. Congrats on your award. I may grit my teeth tomorrow and keep calling back until I can get on hold but I don't like to after 4 pm because I know at half 5 your cut off anyway

GirlMamasClub · 17/01/2024 17:45

@Sarahdestiny exactly the same scan date as me, and journey so far! No texts until today, just letters x

Emma2345 · 17/01/2024 18:05

@Daisy5991 your Same / similar date as me , I am 9 weeks 2 days today since phoning for the forms (13nov) but the forms wasn’t scanned onto the system until the 22nd nov, I was told from someone in the group it’s a 20 week wait from when they’ve been scanned onto system I’ve received both letters my one this week was saying were still looking at your claim and a decision will be made within 15 weeks but it is taking around 20 weeks so I worked it out roughly if from the day you ring it would be end of march begining of April if not it will be around 10th of April x

BMumOf2 · 17/01/2024 18:07

@Mummy2024 I didn't actually call until around 3.15pm and got through in just over an hour, maybe try at 9am or just after 3, good luck with your decision x

Sarahdestiny · 17/01/2024 18:27

@GirlMamasClub I recon its because its hit 15 weeks and don't have a decision yet they send them out to everyone who reaches 15 weeks .. fingers crossed we both get awarded I will let you no if I hear anything x

@Sarahdestiny fingers crossed for us too! I’ll let you know if I hear. I thought it took a long time last year for my eldest but this is definitely a lot longer. X

Anne92 · 17/01/2024 19:00

@Tylerjade89 how long after decision text did you receive payment? My ds was awarded today

ohhollyfred · 17/01/2024 19:46

Hi - does anyone know if you receive the back pay money before a letter or text do they only make payments on certain days of the week or do they send money any day Monday - Friday?

Mum2onebeauifulgirl · 17/01/2024 20:05

Hi for those who been accepted and on universal credit, got reward on 5 December put in for careers allowance and been backpayment today and how do universal credit do about overpayment as careers allowance backpay me and my friend told me she got sanction for it. I told universal credit that I put in for careers allowance .

Amycroft · 17/01/2024 20:07

I just think it's very unfair tbh they need to do it all in date order! And everyone being told different things too

Dally23 · 17/01/2024 20:25

Scan date 15/9 , called last week told end of Jan /Feb . Waiting times too much !!
