Hey have you called at all? X

I sent mine in on the 12th of December, but I also had a change of circumstance sent on the 17th of August, so I think they’ve done them both together, but I do believe they are doing renewals before they run out xx

Holllymum · 12/01/2024 11:22

I called today she said at least 10 weeks until they look at it

Sarahdestiny · 12/01/2024 11:25

@Homesweethome93
Really u heard back very fast I spoke to them yesterday said in a holding que whatever that means and said won't be done until the same week it ends so surprised yours was done so fast x

Lsn123 · 12/01/2024 11:30

Got a rude lady that said she was going to manage my expectations only rang to checked they've received evidence. She said the claims go in a holding queue until 20 weeks then they're picked up in date order there won't be any update until I've reached 20 weeks and they will let me know as soon as they make the decision.
I said so why are the letters still saying 15 weeks, why do some people just get money in the bank with no text if you let people know as soon as and why are some people being awarded from September/October and people still waiting from August... she said there will be no progress with my claim until March. I can just feel an MR already :( x

Liddyj · 12/01/2024 11:41

@Lsn123 hate them being rude there’s no need! What’s your scan date please x

Lsn123 · 12/01/2024 11:48

Hey @Liddyj it's 16/10 x

MeMyBooksAndMyCats · 12/01/2024 12:03

My sons due a DLA renewal, his renewal forms got lost in the post so DLA have sent me new forms however they are the forms for a new claim as the woman over the phone said they’d reach me faster than sending out more renewal forms. She said she’d write on the system to treat it as renewal forms when they are scanned in with the reason why they are late.

However should I write a cover letter with his forms explaining his renewal forms were lost and that’s why it’s a “new claim” form and why it’s slightly late? Panicking incase they aren’t looked at in time still have 10 weeks (24/03) before his claim is due to run out and plan to send special recorded delivery back tomorrow. (Only just got them today!)

fraggle19781 · 12/01/2024 12:04

@Tashanddaryn I finally caved in, rang them, and waited in the hold queue for 1hrs 45 mins only to be told my claim has not even been passed through to the decision maker yet and not to expect any update until mid-Feb, that will be well over 20 weeks by then. Sorry, I couldn't be of more help, I hope you get your decision soon

NJB93 · 12/01/2024 12:06

Lsn123 · 12/01/2024 11:48

Hey @Liddyj it's 16/10 x

@Lsn123 I have the same scan date as you.

Looks like we won't hear anything until mid March then

Lsn123 · 12/01/2024 12:10

@NJB93 it does. I need to put it out of my mind for now but DC is deteriorating and there's waiting lists for meds etc he had a clinic appointment on 26th and it's been moved to march 🤦🏾‍♀️ x

Kezzia87 · 12/01/2024 12:12

Does anybody know if you have to wait for the award letter to ask for a MR? Really grateful for the award but don’t feel MRC reflects his needs… He can’t even go to school as his needs are too high.. hes diagnosed ASD amongst other things and he’s been awarded specialist but they’re all full so waiting untill the end of this academic year to move him.. He literally doesn’t sleep either

@Lsn123 This wait is really hard tho isn’t it! I am finding myself watching this thread everyday wondering how quick they are moving with the claims. I thought maybe after Xmas/new year it would start to move a bit quicker, but clearly not.

Sorry to hear about your DC, overall the system sucks and our poor kids suffer because of it xx

Lsn123 · 12/01/2024 12:40

It really is nerve racking! I did think things would pick up after new year but it seems slower maybe people are still on leave ha. Threads been helpful to ease anxiety and also see most people get a good outcome although some of the declines are shocking :( it seems like a system of luck rather than actual medical knowledge of disabilities and conditions x

Hi so after yesterday my little one being turned down I have decided to take it down the MR route. Only thing is I'm seriously clueless to this kind of thing. Can someone please give me some advise as to where to go from here 🙏 thank you

Scan date 16/8, had a phone call from decision maker today, asking for the number for her school to get some information off them and asked me a few more questions

Hopefully you will have an outcome soon.
I am hoping the DM calls me so I can explain and elaborate more. I'm better at talking than writing.
Did you submit evidence that requires school input? X

TanSav95 · 12/01/2024 13:40

She said the evidence was low because we didn’t have much to send so I told her that school have all the letters from ICAN and speech and language and that the SENDCO worker at school would be able to tell her more. She then asked me a few questions and said she will contact school.

Gemma111 · 12/01/2024 13:51

Apparently she does not meet the needs 🤦‍♀️ really feels like they haven't read it all properly if I'm honest
