RaychieBee · 05/01/2024 17:07

@Jmam i just updated tax credits online and had a phone call a few hours later and wanted to know the rates/date from and said you have to update within 30days of the claim being accepted otherwise you don't get the full backpay x

Jmam · 05/01/2024 17:10

@RaychieBee so you got the backdated pay? Do they just pay you a one off payment or split it for coming months? So glad you got things sorted 😊

Ilovemychildren123 · 05/01/2024 17:13

@Keddie thank you for providing an update we are on week 6 so hopefully not too much longer for an answer x

Keddie · 05/01/2024 17:18

@Jneill2021 called today they advised it could take up to 7 weeks and likely to get the money before a letter or text due to volumes etc. Still not found my evidence but if i re-send now it will delay me further. She noted this on my claim x

Mrssnee16 · 05/01/2024 17:49

Good evening all. My scan date was 25.10 I didn't receive any texts but have had 2 letters. Can I ask anyone please, what evidence did you send to be granted the rates your dc was awarded. My ds aged 3 is on the autistic pathway, awaiting assessment. He has GDD, is none verbal, mobility delay ( will only walk about 20 paces outdoors before getting distressed) won't walk round obstacles in the house, walks through his toys. Frequently stims which causes him to fall if standing or walking. His sleeping pattern has me turning grey. I put him to bed but it takes over an hour to settle him, if he is left alone he puts his hands down his throat to make himself gag and throw up. He has no danger awareness, constantly stands on the sofa and just flops forwards or backwards. He doesn't use a fork or spoon has sensory problems with his head, feet and mouth and I'm pretty sure he has pika as he eats paper, card and small stones.

Sorry for the vent, it's a very stressful time

zoedavis123 · 05/01/2024 18:00

@Ash894 got bloody cut off after an hours wait x

Ash894 · 05/01/2024 18:07

@zoedavis123 omg what a joke that's so annoying especially with it being last chance to call till Monday 🙄 if I hear anything over the weekend I'll message you x

funinthesun19 · 05/01/2024 18:53

Do they send messages out at weekends?

Jmam · 05/01/2024 18:54

@Mrssnee16 I haven't been awarded yet but my son is also 3 and on asd pathway, he had had his first appointment when I got told by consultant I saw to apply for dla, I only sent off the letter we recieved from her as we have nothing else at the moment and he hadn't started nursery when I sent forms off altho he was starting in September so I did mention that.
My scan date is 31st august.

I can see my son in your description.
Don't worry about your rant I totally understand

Ash894 · 05/01/2024 19:04

@funinthesun19 I'm sure people on here have said they have had a text on a weekend x

Paige36 · 05/01/2024 19:13

@Mrssnee16 my daughter is 5 and the exact same except the sleep, she doesn’t settle in bed, no matter what time I take her up she’s up until anywhere from 3am-5am. She’s currently only able to do 2 hours of school a day (mainstream), still in nappies as no desire or understanding of toileting. She’s on the asd pathway awaiting assessment, currently going through EHCNA. I got awarded 29/12 to HRC and LRM and the only evidence I sent off was her SALT report from 2022. Good luck🤞🏻

Rae89xx · 05/01/2024 19:17

@Ilovemychildren123
same here, I was appealing for HRM as like you I believe my son ticks every point in the SMI flowchart. On my original decision I asked for a written statement with a breakdown on why he didn’t get HRM - I then explained why I disagree with their reasons. Then I highlighted certain parts off my evidence, saying this supports this descriptor for each part off the flow chart. I would off thought your age range table evidences severe impairment if your 4 year old is working at 18month, sounds very similar to my boy.

my son is 3 years 4 months, no diagnosis yet due to the long wait times in Coventry (4 years for autistic assessment) he has suspected autism non verbal, adhd & sensory processing disorder.

82cem · 05/01/2024 19:22

I'm also waiting on a MR, my original scan date was 12/7 and the MR was signed for on the 11th December but I've not heard a thing, it will be 4 weeks on Monday, I'm going to ring on Monday just to make sure they've got it, I hope its on the system. Fingers crossed we hear soon.

Ilovemychildren123 · 05/01/2024 19:26

@Rae89xx my son was 4 in November we were really fortunate to get the diagnosis so quickly but it’s because the nhs teamed up with a private practitioner to clear the back log. We are Birmingham. I wrote a letter stating case law for SMI and highlighted parts in EHCP, letter from paediatrician saying he pinches himself this could be due to anxiety but our son is also non verbal and non communicative so very difficult. He is also very sensory and needs 1:1 etc. I’m so hoping he gets awarded x

Thankyou for your comment. My ds is still in nappies also. Your reply gives me Hooe for the higher rate of care for my son. I sent in a letter from portage worker, developmental paediatric dr, salt, physio and hospital consultant so fingers crossed

Thankyou for your comment, good luck with your child's claim

@Ilovemychildren123
Sounds like the DM definitely overlooked your evidence, EHCP alone would have it all, which are very hard to get in Coventry, im currently doing draft EHCP.

hopefully with a new DM you get the right award, Ive been advised from portage worker that HRM for under 5 is extremely hard to get, she has known people to be refused with peads, OT letters saying they have severe impairment & every other point in flow chart, I was advised to take it to tribunal where a lot off cases are over turned & awarded. I think I was lucky & possible got a DM who has some personal experience with these types off disabilities/disorders but I was excepting tribunal. X

flea101 · 05/01/2024 20:41

Are Dms working weekends? Would we get texts at weekends? Just curious.

Ilovemychildren123 · 05/01/2024 20:49

@Rae89xx I am expecting tribunal too I’ve heard it is extremely hard to get x

Margot82x · 05/01/2024 22:30

I remember applying for my daughter when she was 3 for HRM (baring in mind she’s a full time wheelchair user and can’t weight bare or walk etc) I sent in all OT, physio, paediatrician, also neurologist reports..they refused her, I rang and did a MR.. they called nursery who confirmed she can’t walk and has a wheelchair. Sometimes I do think evidence is overlooked and not fully looked in too. X

It's horrible isn't it such a long wait keeps you on edge. If there not awarded then it's even worse making someone wait so long to be told no. I hope we hear soon.

It’s a really long and draining process. To then get a decline at the end of it all 😔.

I went so long thinking I’d done a good, strong application for my DD. But now fast forward to 19 weeks and I’m just so full of doubts and I honestly think she is going to be declined.
This past week in particular I’ve been really nervous and on edge about it because it’s so close to the end now.

Fingers crossed we hear early next week. 🤞🏻🤞🏻Good luck for next week to both of us and everyone else still waiting. x

Geegee1506 · 05/01/2024 23:56

I'm waiting on an MR... 7 weeks on Tuesday. Has anyone recently had an MR and how long did it take?

Mumtotwogirls01 · 06/01/2024 08:30

Has anybody who received their 3rd text around the 11/12 been awarded yet? Scan date 30/08

Loup19863 · 06/01/2024 08:34

@Mumtotwogirls01 I received my 3rd text on 11th December, scan date 4/09 still nothing, 18 weeks on Monday but reckon I’ve still got at least another couple of weeks wait by the sounds of it 🙄 x
