Looloo12332 · 16/12/2023 13:55

They have such a big backlog bless all the children waiting for the money that they deserve

Nadcat · 16/12/2023 14:25

@Loumumoftwo yes that did help thanks. I only heard of disabled child element from reading this thread. I would have missed out on a lot of money , so thanks to you guys I should be able to get what we are entitled to. So thanks again :) and if carers element and carers allowance are different does that mean I can claim carers allowance? Or is that affected by lwcra to? X

Mykidsmyworld4 · 16/12/2023 17:03

So I’m about to do my switch to uc, just wondering if my son is awarded will tax credits still back pay the disability premium that he (if awarded) would of got while I was on tax credits? Or not because that claim is now closed? Because I’m assuming uc will olny backdate from the date I start claiming uc.

Mum2onebeauifulgirl · 16/12/2023 17:11

Hi for those who been awarded and on universal credit I just had this message on my universal message so how long would it take and what do it mean

Just to confirm, I have referred the information for the DLA element and your caring activities on to a decision maker to determine whether we can backdate both elements.

Mummyto2beautifulangeltwins · 16/12/2023 18:11

Hi
Need a little help please !

My daughter was awarded hrc lrm received the letter on the 21/11/23 ,I'm on uc so I updated this under children who Iive with me as my son receives mrc so I'm already receiving carers and disabled child element was unable to do it under caring for someone .

Anyway I messaged on my journal asking to be sent to a dm for disabled child element be backdated from the awarded date June 2023 as I was awaiting for the letter this was the delay in telling uc .

An agent messaged me back after 5 days saying no evidence could be found in relation to my daughter receiving hrc for the disabled child element even though I'd received both child disabled element payments for both children .
I've requested a link to be sent 4 days ago .

My question is can anyone advise me what to do next as I am entitled as I wouldn't of received the payment this month

Thanks for reading.

Lauren2121 · 16/12/2023 18:12

Hi all, do I need to change my settings on universal credit to caring for someone now my daughter is receiving dla to be able to get carers element or can I just pop a messege on my journal, I’m getting so confused when I search it, I also work 16 hours a week will this be affected, Thankyou I’m advance x

Mummyto2beautifulangeltwins · 16/12/2023 18:17

Hi,go to change of circumstances on your journal ,click on children who live with you update there and caring for someone.

Mummyto2beautifulangeltwins · 16/12/2023 18:19

16 hours won't affect as I work 16 hours also on uc and receive carers element to.

Paige36 · 16/12/2023 18:45

@Lauren2121 you can claim carers element, the only thing working affects is carers allowance x

Lauren2121 · 16/12/2023 18:50

okay Thankyou all for replies, can I claim the child disability element aswell as the carers element? Also when it says date you become a carer do I put the date that dla are backdating the claim? X

Mummyto2beautifulangeltwins · 16/12/2023 18:53

Yes you can claim carers element and disabled child element. put the date it was awarded from on when it's asks the question started caring from .

Lauren2121 · 16/12/2023 19:15

Okay Thankyou so much for all your help x

Momof2soonmomto3 · 16/12/2023 19:47

Moms on UC how longs it took everyone to get backdate on disabled child element please i was really hoping be before xmas as im struggling this year as im also paying for funeral and all the food and bills going up :(

Mummyto2beautifulangeltwins · 16/12/2023 20:06

Has it gone to a dm yet?

HKiSm · 16/12/2023 21:04

Do you have to earn under a certain amount for the carers element? I find it so confusing!

Mummyto2beautifulangeltwins · 16/12/2023 21:22

@HKiSm No unlike carers allowance as long as your child is in receipt of Middle or High rate care component then you are entitled.
However their is two separate rates to it .

HKiSm · 16/12/2023 21:39

Thank you!

Momof2soonmomto3 · 16/12/2023 21:44

Mine has gone to dm yes

Looloo12332 · 17/12/2023 09:06

Hopefully people will get some good news tomorrow x

cocoapple · 17/12/2023 09:07

@Looloo12332 what’s the latest with you? That it’s still with a dm? x
