DLA Wait times part 20… (2023)

Following on from part 19 as it’s about to become full.

The wait at 9am is much longer now lol…i didn’t manage to get on dot on 9 but iv been on hold 30 mins now lol xxxxx

Sounds like it does take longer I've never rang at 9 before but I'm still awaiting 46 minutes later I've only got 10 mins then I'll have to hang up as starting work. Annoying.

@Rebeccanew its getting longer and longer to call it’s a nightmare, 25 minutes so far for me on hold hopefully not much longer for us both.

has anyone that is calling managed to get through yet ?

Oh my god guys hope you get threw to them soon! I really think you'll be having a decision today or tomorrow at 17+6 @Sskanf so maybe ask them to log on there what the report said as it probably won't reach them in time xxx

Before when you call at 9am or around that time the wait time wasn’t this long before, so I think so many more people must be calling this time around, hopefully you’re not waiting much longer hun

Went to a DM Friday
Was awarded yesterday HRC AND LRM 😁
No txt called this morning at 9 was on gold 20 mins

I am on week 18, I called yesterday to be told it hasn’t gone to DM yet and to expect a wait if another 2-4 weeks. I waited 1 hour and 20 mins to even be answered 🫣

No update she told me it was scanned on the system on the 1st of August yet my scan date on the letter is 27/7 so I'm going with that as when I rang last time he told me the 27/7 so where she got the 1st of August from I don't know.

ohh @Keddie that is ridiculous they should have been scanned on by now seems you’re so close for an answer, yours should 100% be with a CM/DM by now!

@Billie1993 apparently its with a case manager but they are awaiting my further evidence?? Case Manager does not sound good to me...... has anyone been approved by a CM rather than a DM on here?? x

ohh sorry I read that wrong well I’m glad a CM has it now but they have your further evidence right so why don’t they go find it? And yes someone was awarded yesterday and they was with a CM hun I can’t tag them as they haven’t joined this tread

I’ve just got off phone 📞 I was very polite she wasn’t nice at all. I really wanted to say why are u so angry. Tbh why are they so nasty I felt like she was looking down on me. My little girl has complex epilepsy her seizures are life threatening. Do they actually think am happily applying for DLA. I would give/do anything to stop her have epilepsy. I actually feel quite upset. Anyhow 17 weeks still in holding que will be a few more weeks she said. This wait is crazy. Thanks for listening x

I’ve got 2 claims in for 2 of my children.
Scan dates for both 27/7
1st text 02/10
2nd text 23/10

I called this morning at 9am. 20 mins on hold.
Added extra info of anything significant that’s happened since I put the claims in (educational phycologist assesment, ehcp appointments) and what each professional have said about their needs and gave contact info so they can confirm it as the reports will be weeks away yet.
The lady I spoke to was inpatient and quite stern. At first she wouldn’t even check when I gave her the dates until I said about extra information and then she was quite rude and interrogating when I was trying to explain about issues with my other son. Instead of just logging it in, she was questioning me about the information the professionals relayed such as “why can’t you just take him to the opticians if he needs glasses?“, “that doesn’t make sense!” when I was explaining about what his team at the hospital were saying about my child’s sight impairment and that there are problems as they’ve discharged him by error and his pediatrician is trying to sort it out. So he’s been without glasses for 4 months now (his last pair broke and optician needs new in date prescription from the hospital) and his vision is deteriorating. I said that his glasses are constantly breaking and because I’m with a better opticians (because they can have his glasses ready the next day not 6 weeks like specsavers) and so he’s not left without for so long especially with deterioration, I have to pay quite a lot every time he needs a new frame which is near monthly (but do get a discount with the nhs voucher). Then it was “well that’s your choice. What’s that got to do with his claim?”. Why couldn’t she just type the info I was telling her and let the dm question it?! Her tone was like she was questioning the authenticity of what I was saying.
She said not with DM/CM and to just be patient for a few weeks until I hear something so don’t keep calling, it wastes time and no one with your dates are going to hear back until next month (I did say I know there’s people who have had a decision with same dates but that made her more peeved.
It’s only the 2nd time I’ve called and last time it was to check they received the extra evidence I sent.

Just on hold to pip to change my bank details for my claim. Feel like I spend my life on hold. Will it take as long as DLA to answer, I really hope not

just got off of the phone still there’s been no decision as of yet and still with a DM wished I hadn’t called now waited for an hour to be told the same thing I guess being impatient got the better of me lol. I think I’ve only been with the DM since yesterday so hopefully not to long

I think it’s a case of if u don’t have a child with additional needs then u don’t have a clue, I found it all with my boy when he was a preemie aswell. Don’t take it to heart @Mumofepilepsy you know ur doing ur best for bubba & if that’s ringing up everyday to fight for what ur child deserves then we r all with u on that. If they didn’t have such ridiculous wait times & sung from same sheet we probably wouldn’t need to keep ringing up xx
