DLA wait times part 19 (2023)

Following on from part 18
as there’s only around 30 comments left x

Scan date 7.7.23, two texts and a letter
Considering the claims are taking however long they're taking, why are people phoning? I don't mean that in a facetious way, I'm really curious. Is it something I should be doing? It had never occurred to me in years of claiming DLA ( first DD now DGS)

@samepasswordforall1 people are calling them because in the letter were told 15 weeks and the automated message when you call is saying 15 weeks yet its taking 18 weeks plus for most people and it's frustrating to wait that long for an outcome. So calling them up makes me feel better just to check to see if I'm any closer to a decision.

@Jude82 I think your right, I’m the week before you 19/7 last text 16/10 and I’ve been told the week of 20th November is will hear something

If your child was awarded MRC or HRC then you’re eligible for the carer element. This is £185 a month.

If your child was awarded LRC or MRC then you’re eligible for the disabled child element. This is £146 a month.

If they were awarded HRC then you can get the disabled child element which is a bit more at £456 a month

Same scan date as me and both same text dates too, I rang up Tuesday and was told it SHOULD be with a decision maker between 21st & 28th I sent more evidence which they signed for yesterday, I'm going yo call again Monday to see if its been scanned on with my other forms and ask for another update 🤣

Eagerly awaiting all you ringers outcomes because I rang yesterday so cant oday 😎🤣 xxx

I think because If you don't ring for the decision it takes a couple weeks to come threw the post, you only have a certain time to do an MR if you are declined but if your letter after a couple weeks comes says decline you the would have to ring for a detailed breakdown of why and that would then be another couple weeks wait and you wouldn't make it in time for the MR 🙂 so people want to know if it's a decline as soon as possible to ask for the breakdown of why to get the MR process rolling and get it back in time! Tried calling a couple of times this morning kept getting the busy tone, so I don’t know what made me do it but I switched my number to witheld and immediately got in the hold queue. I’ve tried calling for the last 4 days and not been able to get in the hold queue once. Might be coincidence but the woman I spoke to on Monday was really arsey and wouldn’t even tell me after waiting on hold for 1 hour whether it was a decision maker or anything else about my claim. Bear in mind that was only the second time I’d called and I’m never rude on the phone. I honestly think she blocked my number calling 😂 Maybe I’m being paranoid but it’s funny how I’ve got straight through on witheld after calling god knows how many times the last 4 days lol. Anyway I’m finally in the hold queue with a scan date of 7/7 so 18 weeks today. I will update ya all xx
