Hi all, hope its ok to join this thread? Im looking for some advice regardingPIP. This is my first attempt for pip, i sent my claim in 10 weeks ago. I have a variety of disabilities...ASD, ADHD, neuroligical symptoms (no diagnosis as tet but query MS or similar) and arthritis, Disc problens. All of which affect activities of daily living and mobility.
I initially had an appt for telephone assessment, but when they called me on the day, the assessor said she had only been allocated an hour to assess, and that due to my amount of problems, i needed at least 2 hours. She spoke to her manager and then said that she was referring me back to dwp to request a paper based assessment instead, as she thought the time needed was unfair to me, would cause distress and that she felt i had sent in enough evidence. I hot a call a week later that a paper assessment had been agreed and that they would contact my gp for further evidence.
Weeks passed, and still they had not contacted gp and so i called dwp to chase up. They informed that they no longer needed further evidence and my claim was with the decision makers and i would hear in approx 5 weeks.
My question is, would they have done a report? Should i be concerned that i didnt get to eleborate on my difficulties as no assessment and am i likely to qualify based on what i have said above? Just wondering if anyone else had a similar experienced and had had results. According to my scores when i took the eligibility test online, i scored enhanced for both. Any info is appreciated, i am so anxious !xx

@Loui5 that's good, hope it's good news, let us know how you get on, it is such a long wait and so unfair xx

NatalieAnn92x · 08/11/2023 13:03

Update;

Just phoned as it’s been with a DM for a week now. The lovely lady on the phone said she can see it’s still there to be looked at & the DM is currently working so it could be any day now. She said they can get piles of 10-15 at a time which is why it can take up to two weeks? Because it’s already been a week she said she will email the DM & say I am chasing every day so hopefully fingers crossed it gets looked at asap!! 🙏🏻

it’s just nice to speak to someone who isn’t being vague for once and just fobbing people off! 😂😂

Rebeccanew · 08/11/2023 13:05

Bit the bullet and phoned again. No decision yet but she said it's not usually with them for long so hopefully soon. She apologised it's taken so long too. Asked about a text being sent and she said there is a note on there but not all dms can send texts out x

Thismamalife · 08/11/2023 13:25

@Asdmummyhere I think you're in the same area of the country as me a group you mentioned earlier in the last thread I'm also on. Gives me hope of an answer soon as I think I'm a week or two behind you

PinkMoscatoLover · 08/11/2023 13:35

@Tisms5 sorry no advice as I have two toddlers so don’t have any experience with PIP. I’m sure most of us on this thread will be the same as PIP has a different process to DLA.

I’d recommend starting your own thread in Money Matters or another suitable board so that you get the relevant advice there. All the best🤞🏾

I only called yesterday too. I was on hold today for just under an hour and the lady was lovely and even apologised about the wait. I'm going to call Friday morning again now if I don't get a text, good luck xx

Asdmummyhere · 08/11/2023 13:40

Ollysmomma · 08/11/2023 13:41

Hi does anyone have the address fir Wolverhampton please? I sent some evidence in last week to the free post address and they wouldn’t let me use track and sign service. Scanned on 18/7 so now panicking as it’s getting nearer and the additions info might not get considered!
TIA

@Tisms5 Hi, personally I think if you’ve been allowed to do a paper assessment that is a positive sign. The anxiety is awful I know. The actual PIP interview is really awful and I nearly didn’t do it as I was so anxious, they ask some absurd things and they try desperately to trip you up or make you downplay your condition. I don’t have a condition that affects my limbs in any way yet I was asked if I was right of left handed in mine? Still baffled by that one. At this point I’d be just happy you didn’t have to have an interview, it sounds like luckily you got a very nice PIP assessor who couldn’t and wouldn’t do it in a time slot that wouldn’t work for you and your conditions. If the PIP assessor said you’d sent enough evidence in and you’ve checked yourself on the online assessment and you hit the points level for enhanced then I’d take it that the assessor also feels that the information provided on the form and your supporting evidence will be able to verify those points without having to ask you any further questions. They will go through your form and do a points score and an evaluation based on that and the letter they send you does fully explain why the decision maker made their decision. If you don’t get enhanced for both and you think you should then certainly do a MR. I had the interview on 21st June and the backdated money hit my account on 8th July and then I got letter on 13th July with details of my award which is standard care and enhanced mobility decision. Hope this helps and good luck 🤞

@Kelz23 have you been leaving messages under payment? As if uou don't have a work coach it won't get seen under work coach unfortunately.
I had to leave about 5 or 6 messages.

Tammie23 · 08/11/2023 14:25

@AnneD96 mines the 2/8 and same text dates as you I think we will hear something beginning of Dec I'm actually nervous now

Asdmummyhere · 08/11/2023 14:28

@MangoPepsiLover ohh sorry I misread your message. Get it now 🤣 it's a lovely group

Mommaof2babas · 08/11/2023 14:28

Scan date 12.07 phoned up and they said takes 17.5 weeks so should be with a decision maker by Monday so phone back Tuesday Wednesday next week!

Jude82 · 08/11/2023 14:31

@Ollysmomma I also sent evidence to the free post address Wolverhampton and PO wouldn’t let me send it recorded due to it being free post. I sent it 05/10 and it wasn’t scanned on until 23/10! If I had to do it again I’d just leave freepost off and pay postage for a signed and tracked as it led to weeks of me stressing it had been lost

Kelz23 · 08/11/2023 14:32

@BoyMumGirlMum2022 thanks you yes I’ve put it under payment. They never respond though to me I’ll give them till Friday then I’ll call.
