Hi been following here for a while. Gave in and rang this morning, scan date 16/6, apparently I've been rejected but the lady said the letter the DM is sending runs to two pages long. She also said the next step is MR. Does this seem weird to you? Perhaps I didn't give enough info but then why didn't they just ask? Can't believe how rubbish it is after such a wait!

So sorry to hear this 🥹 hope you’re successful with the MR

Hello! I'm so sorry, I'm very new to all this. What are scan dates? I keep reading but don't understand it. My boy is partially deaf and I sent an application in July. I had a letter back asking about our immigration status and then a text message saying they are still looking in to it. I'm completely lost on all this.

Scan date is the date DLA wrote in the letter they sent you a few weeks after with confirmation of recieving your application. They sort through dates and then 18 weeks from there is when you should get a decision.

Frazzlemumof3 · 17/10/2023 12:24

When you say original, did you do MR and were successful?

Bettyboop2530 · 17/10/2023 12:24

@Frazzlemumof3
I saw another poster say the letter you receive will have points on why they declined you and then you can argue those points in MR. Doesn't seem weird, just the next steps. And they don't ask for any more information as imagine they did for the thousands of people who have applied - the wait would be horrendous 😂

Can I ask if you knew it was DM? Or this came out of the blue. Does your child have any diagnosis? You can send off more evidence with MR to show to that your child has additional needs.

I don't have this letter... so i'm guessing my date will be pushed even further away. I only had a letter saying they needed more information and one text message. So I don't know my scan date. Should I call them?

Frazzlemumof3 · 17/10/2023 12:27

I've been following on here and knew it was about time I had a decision so rang. Yes my daughter has severe ADHD but the form was so concise I guess it's possible I didn't provide enough info on her needs above my other children. She's exhausting and exhausted so I'd really like some therapy for her but it's super expensive.

Do you remember what the date/ month that you sent off it should within two weeks after that date as an estimate. I am also claiming for LO who is partial deaf. If you received one text message I think you are still quite early into this. You should receive a second text message and then 5 weeks after that should be decision week x

You should do MR, quite a few others have been successful through MR. If the school is involved, SENCO , diagnosis, professional seeing them etc. all the best x

Thank you so much! I believe I sent it on the 21/07.
Sorry, what is LO? I'm sorry to be a pain, but I never claimed anything before, but I'm recently a single mom and now just my pay is not enough for me and the kids, so I decided to learn what are my kids rights (mainly the one with the hearing impairment and is also being tested for autism). I'm completely overwhelmed with it!

My boy had extensive Dr assessments, MRI, and I requested an letter with all his history since first starting to assess his deafness. I sent all of it to them. I sent a lot of information and had school adding information as well. I think I did all I could. I'm just confused with the entire process, that why all the questions. Once again, thank you for the reply.

‘Little one’. Your child sounds similar to Mines partially deaf and is on the ASD. There is quite a wait, hopefully you will hear 18 weeks from your scan date x

I’m with a dm yes. I’m gonna call later.

Let us know what they say x

Muva306 · 17/10/2023 12:49

Yes I was successful with my MR. Was rejected last august, let them know the next day I was doing MR. Got both letters, standard rejection and detailed breakdown 10 days later, filled in paperwork and sent more evidence send back and scanned 22nd sept. I called last week as it was verging 3 weeks, the timescale they give they hadn’t looked at it. Got a text that night to say they were looking at it. Called Thursday to update them on sons 2nd Austism assessment for next month which cahms had sent text about that day, they informed me I had been approved on the Wednesday

Bettyboop2530 · 17/10/2023 12:55

@Frazzlemumof3
Definitely do the MR. It's all about how much extra care your child needs so list every single thing you can, that details the extra care. My son is up alot during the night so I went into detail about that and then obviously our daily extra needs. I also sent paediatric Dr's diagnosis and care plan.

Ok, sounds doable, at least it's not another 18 weeks!! Thanks

Lollypops88 · 17/10/2023 13:08

@Rosey1992 im the 3rd of july they said yesterday i will hear from them middle of november so around the 13th

Shilli84 · 17/10/2023 13:15

Ooo a scan buddy! Wonder if we get the second text the same day 🤔

Muva306 · 17/10/2023 13:25

@Frazzlemumof3 deffs do-able!! The form is very short and straight forward and the timeframe is short compared to the original application process

Sjx5 · 17/10/2023 13:36
