Dla wait times part 15

Keeping everyone up to date with a new thread 😊

My scan date is 27/7, I have had 2 letters and 1 text dated 2/10. Nerves are kicking in now x

Someone has just put on fb group 2 hours ago they've received a text to say they qualify 17 weeks 3 days scan date 16/06 😬

Been lurking a while, are renewals taking 18.5 weeks too? Or are they in a different pile 😩 Thanks

My son’s CoC took 27 weeks and 1 day, they really do take ages.
I had one letter off them in that entire time, no texts x

@Watso2408 we are a day apart for scan dates, mine is the 26/07 so hopefully we should hear the sane sort of time I've also had 2 letters and my text was also 02/10 x

@LizBennet thanks for replying , Yh I thought it was taking Alot longer than new claims,I was just wondering if anybody had heard sooner than 27 weeks, should of realised really, I’ll give it a few more weeks then give them a ring x

Oh wow. I had to leave the group earlier on today, I saw a rant about people moaning about DM’s and it’s a privilege not a ‘right’ to get benefit for a child with ASD. I beg to differ my child cannot speak and there’s an 18 month waiting list for speech and language therapy, everyone has the own reasons to want to have the benefit. Just really annoyed me x

Is that the dla and support group on fb? That seriously does my head in 😳 can't wait to come off it once I've got my decision 😂

Yeah, I’ve been on and off it a while as I get obsessed looking at posts etc but find this page much more refreshing so I’ve come off again today after seeing that x

Yeah and they've started turning comments off on most posts aswell.

It's really annoying but I'm withstanding it just to see where we are at with scan dates.

I haven't seen that post luckily that's awful... I personally find some of the questions so silly sometimes. I agree I always come here too it's so much nicer, think I'm just on the fb one now to be nosy 😂

Hey guys so rang again scan date 3rd of july, the person said mid july it will have a decicision cpuld be sooner depending on how quickly they get them done or could be slower 🤣 but that was the anwser today 🌈🌈🌈🌈 kids hols for the next week and a half so wont ring again for a while

Hi @Watso2408 ive got the same scan date as you and also got my first text on the 2nd of October and I've also had 2 letters. The wait is too much. I assume we have a while to wait yet. Does anyone know if I should update now my son has actually been diagnosed since sending the forms in? Thanks 😊

My scan date is 26/6 16 weeks today and my last text was 25/9 seems there is a few of us with texts that day! The days are so long right now waiting to see what will happen x

My heart is seriously rooting for us all and what a difference it will make to our babies xx

@Mumtotwoboys121 im so sorry u had to read this we are all in the same boat and seeking for support so that are kids, i dont personally have fb i find peoples negitivity hard to process to empathetic! I also have a non verbal daughter and even close family members have made some comments, to lead me to think that no one gets it unless they live it, and all our little beauties are different, my mum would say if u really want to know what that person is going through walk a thousand miles in there mockisons 🤣🤣 sending u lots of positive vibes this community on here is super supportive i find, u ever need to splurge pm me or put on here iv not seen no one be unkind 🌈🌈🌈🌈

Aw thank you so much, I totally agree I find watching TikTok’s and Instagram posts about ASD so lovely as most are so positive and gives me hope. He is such a different boy since this time last year so I’m hoping if we can get the dla we can get some private speech therapy for him ❤️ best of luck to you and your family 🥰🥰

@Mumtotwoboys121 i love that some tiktoc content and insta celebrate our childerens nural diversitys it helps me so much not to feel alone

@Tmxx they said middle of november around the 13th for mine so urs shouldnt be far behind mine i dont reckon 🤞

@Mummyrach13 yeah my scan dates 29/06 and last text on 25/09 so be interesting to see if we’re all on the same pile that goes to DMs lol x

Aww how old is your little one. I definitely think having a non verbal child is a good enough reason to be awarded DLA. I have a non verbal 4 year old and it's true only the person who goes thru it knows the difficulties.
They meltdown so much more from not being understood and need constant supervision to help them navigate thru day to day life. I've been asked by quite a few ppl why my child's non verbal and I think its quite personal to say something like that

Hopefully they go to the DM by next week! Seems a lot are having awards around 17-18 weeks roughly.
