Hi scan date 11/07 I spoke to them today to update some information the lady was lovely and told me to call back in 4 weeks for an update. She said it’s taking 18 weeks if this helps anyone.

Muva306 · 12/10/2023 11:43

@Mumtotwoboys121 thank you so much!! Honestly these threads have kept me sane during the whole process!! If it hasn’t been for other users talking about MR, I probably wouldn’t of done one myself

Georgia1721 · 12/10/2023 11:48

As the days go on, I really feel less hopefully. My son has had an awful week and it shows how much he really does need extra care 😩 it was with a DM yesterday, I was shaking when making the call. Not sure I can call again out of fear. (Scan date - 09.06)

Ngreen84 · 12/10/2023 11:48

Sskanf · 12/10/2023 12:24

Hi guys, just needed some advice. I've applied for DlA for my son of 3.5 years old based on delayed speech GDD and being under SEN in school. He's currently ok the list to be assessed by a pediatrician.
He recently became really unwel with suspected sepsis which involved a hospital stay of 1 week. I received a discharge letter today where the dr has put down patient with ASD was hospitalised informing what he was treated for. I've never been told previously he's suspected for autism so I'm confused. Is this a diagnosis do I need to update DLA

4LittleFirecrackers · 12/10/2023 12:26

My scan date is 30th June but last text 25th Sept , must be in a pile waiting as a chunk

I think doctors make assumptions when child is speech delayed and waiting to be seen by peads. I would not look too much into. Does your child have a diagnosis for GDD? I think the peads need to give that diagnosis. Have you been seen by them?

Mummyrach13 · 12/10/2023 12:32

I’m 26/6 and same last text 25th sept so prob all in the same pile 😂 seems a lot are getting awarded around 18 weeks now.

Givemeallthetattoos · 12/10/2023 12:47

@Muva306 yaaaaayyy!!! Well done 🎉 I'm absolutely buzzing for you!

Mumtotwoboys121 · 12/10/2023 12:53

My last text was 12th september so I have a feeling most of them are done in weekly batches. So fingers crossed I get a text on Tuesday to say we’ve been awarded 😆

Pawtucketbrew · 12/10/2023 12:54

There have been two changes since I put our claim through. 1. DD gets melatonin on prescription for her sleep problems and 2. She has been accepted by CAMHs for support for her anxiety and OCD.

She has an ASD DX and I have submitted any paperwork relevant to her dx as well as reports from private psychologist.

Is it best to call or mail changes. Tried to call this morning and it said to send via post.

Would it even matter in terms of our claim?

Thanks

Muva306 · 12/10/2023 13:08

@Givemeallthetattoos honestly it’s such a weight lifted of my shoulders!! I was shaking on the phone and felt physically sick!! It’s not even about the money it’s having someone recognise that’s it’s bloody hard to care for our children when they have additional needs. Thank you so much for keeping me in your thoughts throughout this process!! Without these threads I would of been a quiver wreck all day and then most likely would of just accepted their rejection 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

Muva306 · 12/10/2023 13:10

@Pawtucketbrew please update them!! My claim was rejected originally and then since applying he had been seen by salt & peads who prescribed melatonin. I added that evidence when doing my MR, which was awarded yesterday.

Mummyrach13 · 12/10/2023 13:47

I’ve just read on a post on the fb page about someone was wishing to send in Info that her child is now medicated and someone has commented saying the DMs will only go by the info on the claim pack at that date and it wouldn’t matter? Surely not?
my son has had various meds prescribed and different therapies and behaviours since my claim went in that I’ve updated with letters etc.
Is that true that anything sent after would be a change of circumstances even though it’s not even been awarded yet?

Asdmummyhere · 12/10/2023 14:09

Does anyone know if this is worth sending as extra evidence? 14 weeks exactly today. It's his review for his ehcp from salt. I've read it a few times and can't quite decide if it's worth it or not

Dla wait times part 15
LizBennet · 12/10/2023 14:12

I would @Asdmummyhere x

LizBennet · 12/10/2023 14:13

I’m not sure @Mummyrach13, they sometimes say when a child has been prescribed melatonin you’re supposed to give it time to work before updating DLA.
Wish it was possible for us to do everything online, would be so much easier x

Luevzamum · 12/10/2023 14:15

@Ngreen84 congatulations you’ve had such a long wait, I’m hoping to hear Some news soon as mine was for hrm. Thank god ur wait is finally over 😊
