A new thread for those waiting on DLA claims as the other one was rather full. @girlmum25

@Pollyley how old is he? They didn’t ring the school for my sons claim, he was awarded HRC and LRM he has Autism, sensory processing difficulties, night terrors etc but is a lot better in school, the school want him assessed for ADHD but aren’t overly concerned. A lot of kids mask. My daughter also masks but as she starts to feel comfortable with the teacher it all falls apart, as it did last year in her last 4 months with the teacher. I’m sure they’ll take that into consideration! It may be worth sending the school an email to tell them what DWP might ask and want confirming

Donnagl · 04/10/2022 13:50

Good news ❤️❤️

claire071089 · 04/10/2022 13:52

They seem to be quite strict at the moment I sent in over 25 pages so adhd diagnosis, EHCP, school reports etc. I think the more you send in the better.

Pollyley · 04/10/2022 13:56

@2under2and1more similar challenges here, asd, sensory issues self injuring meltdowns episode of refusal to walk or sit in a pram resulting in me carrying him
Diagnosed with Asd
GDD.
A genetic syndrome also
Severe speech issues difficulties at night not sleeping, still in nappies, learning delay etc etc. But yes masking at school

Pollyley · 04/10/2022 14:04

I've sent in 15 pages of evidence and his statement on top. Hope this is enough

2under2and1more · 04/10/2022 14:23

@Pollyley Well it sounds like you’ll get your claim then. I had to do a MR and didn’t send in any extra stuff for it. His scan date was 12th July and got a no on the 27th of July. I then did an Mr on the same day. Received back pay on the 20th of September and they had made the decision on the 16th sep.
all the same dates for my daughter and waiting on hers back

Pollyley · 04/10/2022 14:27

Oh gosh it's an awful process isn't it, just trying to access the support for our children that they need.
I hope he gets it because I am genuinely fearful how we can meet his extra financial care needs without it.

Rose22212 · 04/10/2022 15:43

Hi everyone.
Is there anyone with scan date 30th of june gets the decision?

Pollyley · 04/10/2022 15:47

@Rose22212 my child's is June 30th and I was told yesterday on the phone to expect another 4 weeks.

Jp95 · 04/10/2022 17:04

we are the 30th and where told yesterday to call Friday as it’s with the d now xx

Shannon26 · 04/10/2022 17:09

Does anyone know how long it takes for a decision to be made whether your carers can be reinstated or not?

Shellbel10 · 04/10/2022 17:59

Mines the 17th but don’t think I have enough evidence. Trying to get a referral from the school is a nightmare

Chay123 · 04/10/2022 17:59

Anyone scan date of 1st July and heard anything? X

Rose22212 · 04/10/2022 20:35

Pollyley · 04/10/2022 15:47

@Rose22212 my child's is June 30th and I was told yesterday on the phone to expect another 4 weeks.

But i was told yesterday that i'll get the decision soon may be end of this week. Will ring again tomorrow.

KodaS · 04/10/2022 20:36

My scan date is the 27th July. I have been told they had a massive backlog. They said they are getting through a lot each week so may only be a week or two wait. I think it’s who you get on the phone and who has your case and how long they take to work through it. For example if someone needs more information Itl take longer and then hold others up to.

So happy my son has been awarded hrc and lmc..called in to ask for the child dla form in 27 June and once completed send that in 20 July on recorded delivery so received date was 21 July 2022. I have never called them but I have pending sum of money in my account from dla. Good luck to everyone.

Oh wow! Is this a new claim?xx

Asdadhd101 · 05/10/2022 10:36

And those who worry about sending in lots of evidence not to worry, fill in the form as honestly and be confident no one knows your child more than you! My son has not been diagnosed and waiting for assessment for asd and adhd. He is 11 and just started mainstream school. He struggles day and night and the high school are struggling to meet his needs. He is always in sensory room and doesn’t sit for any lesson. They are sending him to special school and I couldn’t have agreed anymore. X

Asdadhd101 · 05/10/2022 10:38

@kateof2 yes this was the first time I have applied even though my son was on SEN plan at primary school since he was 4.

Chay123 · 05/10/2022 10:39

I’m on hold now. 36 minutes in 🥱
