Yes some sort of cold-y virus, she is over it really but a bit post viral atm

ROSEgarden · 15/01/2008 12:53

well im hooping they have them left as theyre half price in toys are us!..if not think ill get one myself anyway,dd and the older girls love them and im sure the younger ones will too...did you pick any thing for your b.day?

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 13:03

Yeahm I've settled on a camera. We've both had a digital camera for about 7 or 8 years, but they are quite outdated now! Hadn't really noticed really, but mine is only 2pixels so its pretty rubbish really! Its OK to look at pictures on the PC, but printing them has always been a bit rubbish! Got my eye on this one I think. I'm a bit rubbish with techno stuff, but I've got an HD memory card in my camera now, so if I get one that also uses HD, I can use the same memory card I hope. I refuse to ask my brother, who is good, coz he'll just tell me I'm old again, like he did when I was trying to put my music on a memory stick last week!

ROSEgarden · 15/01/2008 13:06

that looks nice!...see if yo can get any reveiws on it online?, might help you make up your mind?..did you check out currys/comet, cos argos DONT do refunds unless camera is faulty(bought mams from them) so if you chenge your mind you're stuck!

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 13:07

I will get it through my brother, he's the internet sales manager for Comet! I'll do that though, look for some reviews.

mumlove · 15/01/2008 13:19

Afternoon everyone.
Rain stooped here about 10.30ish but it will start again when need to do the school run!!

Mo - that camera takes SD cards not HD.

hennipenni · 15/01/2008 13:21

OMG I can see blue sky!!!

shoshe · 15/01/2008 13:22

Mo I have this one

Its brill and it is the camera I took the Christmas photos on. Really good on bateries as well

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 13:26

Thanks Mumlove! That's how thick I am, that's what I meant!

Its still blowing a hooley here! Slightly bluer sky, but I've got to do 2 school runs, one is doing after school club. Can't wait until our mortgage comes through, we might actually get the drive sorted. My car is parked on it and its just grass, so it is sooo muddy and squelchy! Signed the contracts this morning, so it should only be a couple of days now. Hmm, maybe I should be spending more than £75 on myself!

southernbelle77 · 15/01/2008 13:29

Thank god we are back in at last! We got VERY wet this morning and felt like we were going to get blown away!
Got a call earlier about some temporary work so they are coming tomorrow to meet me. Its a neighbour (who I don't know) so easy from that point of view!
Mindee going to sleep soon I hope and think dd and i will sit down quietly as I'm exhausted and don't want to be doing anything energetic!

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 13:32

That's the thing isn't it? The batteries go so quickly. I think mine might go quicker because its a really basic old one. Probably one of the first digital cameras around, so I hope they've come on a bit since then.

ROSEgarden · 15/01/2008 13:35

i didnt know you could get ones that take normal batteries until we bought my mams!, mine is a flat rechargable sony one..sayingt hat i never have spare batteries in! what with al the toys so im better with a regarchable one

shoshe · 15/01/2008 13:38

Mo mine here in silver for half the price

OP posts:
MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 13:39

I assume you can put re-chargables in any camera though can't you? It'll be handy to be able to keep some on charge at home. I wonder if it'll be that good, it'll take a good one of me for my Facebook! I HATe having my photo taken. I've got such a skinny face and all you can see is my bloody jewish nose! (Inhereted that is, I'm not jewish! )

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 13:41

That's quite a good deal actually, but it'll be £55 with p&p and this one is 7mp and it is my birthday! If I get it from Argos, I can get it within 10 mins from here!

shoshe · 15/01/2008 13:42

dont leave batteries on charge Mo it can ruin them, I use reacharagable sin mine, charge 4 at a time two in the camera and two in my bag, 2100htz (is that right) ones will take about 200 photos

Duracell Pluss wil take about the same

OP posts:
shoshe · 15/01/2008 13:44

Mo bought the one you are looking at for DS for Christmas, used batteries like anything (the ones that came with it took about 25 photos) but he went on the net and found out that you are suppose to use other sort, cant reamber which ones, but will ask, and it took loads then.

OP posts:
ROSEgarden · 15/01/2008 13:48

no mines like a totally different battery, not normal ones, no space for a normal AAA in mine?

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 13:54

Right, spoken to brother (he who knows everything!) and he said thats a really good buy for that price and 7mp is more than enough for an old git like me! He said something about it being Mo proof too! Bloody cheek, I don't know why I speak to him quite frankly! I might have to poison his mash on Sunday!

looneytune · 15/01/2008 14:10

Mo - pleased you are sorting a camera out, I'll be nagging for you to put a Facebook pic on soon then!

Ju - Pleased it went as well as it could and that you are trying to get back to normal, must be awful but we're all thinking of you and your family xx

Katy - hope DD is better soon.

KayS - did you go to pre-school? Wouldn't blame you if you didn't!

Right, quick cuppa before my brother gets here to come on the school run with me. I've had the day off so far and not long been back from lunch with dh Db is coming to surprise ds after school as he's a 'big boy' now, bless. Off to soft play with ds and mindee after school, not sure if db is coming or not, hope so, SPD playing up today and don't think I'm up for too much running about lol.

Oh, dh has a 2nd interview tomorrow for a 2/3 month contract so fingers crossed! And I have a lady coming round tonight about some temporary cover until I go on maternity leave

Catchya later x

ROSEgarden · 15/01/2008 14:22

good luck Looney..am off on school ruun now..byeeeee.x

KaySamuels · 15/01/2008 18:31

Good luck looney.

MMl digi camera is a great idea for your birthday!

I didn't take ds to preschool, it was still pouring it down, have arranged it with mindee's mum for in future tho.

Well new mindee was great - much better than I expected. He cried on and off for about an hour, then was playing with toys with the other two boys. Was a little sad and shy, but after school run came in and was plodding about grinning at me! He went shy again when DP came in but am feeling much more positive about him settling in now!

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 18:37

Oh good, I'm glad it went well. I'm always very nervous about the first day. You just never know 100% what they're used to and how different its going to be. They soon settle though and learn to tick along with all the others in no time.

looneytune · 15/01/2008 18:38

Cheers guys, just waiting for them to arrive, due at 6.30 but giving them a bit of time as the weather is CRAP out there!!! Been a MAD afternoon so hope they aren't too long and desperate for a rest (running around soft play and going down big fast slides when pregnant probably not such a good idea lol.

looneytune · 15/01/2008 18:39

Kay - so glad it went well! I'll be coming for support in a couple of weeks - got 2 new ones starting on the SAME DAY Not very good organising on my part lol
