He's not any old man, he is the font of all knowledge on anything childlike and knows all the rules and regs off the top of his head!

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 20:07

And saying YeeeHaaa! and twirling your plaits!

shoshe · 15/01/2008 20:08

And he loves jumping in puddles! So why oh why hasnt he been snapped up , come on Ladies have you any single sisters or friends.

(second thoughts)

That would mean tho, that he would have a RL, and he wouldnt be here to bail us out

well Shoshe, how on earth did you know?!! That's me alright!!

nannynick · 15/01/2008 20:10

Bit of gossip for you ladies - there is a child in the Evening Standard tonight, who I know. Not often I know anyone who appears in a newspaper - and also probably the first newspaper I have brought for about 4 years!

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 20:12

How exciting! What gives then? Are you going to give us any more than that?

nannynick · 15/01/2008 20:18

The child had a liver transplant, which if she hadn't got it she would by now be dead. Made the newspaper today I guess, due to the opt-out organ donation thing being talked about by government. The shortage of organs available for transplant meant that children who need them, due to a birth defect (or for whatever other reason), have to wait a long time for there to be a match.

I was surprised that the article was almost a total double page spread (there were just a couple of ads)... had a large picture of the rather bouncy 4 year old.

nannynick · 15/01/2008 20:20

Found the article on-line - Amazing Grace

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 20:21

Ah, that's lovely! I haven't read the Standard since I worked in Town,I'll have a look online, see if its there.

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 20:27

What a beautiful story! Are they friends of yours Nick?

nannynick · 15/01/2008 20:32

Not really no. It's a child in the same class at school as the 4 year old I nanny. From starting school, Grace always says hello to me, when seeing me... for some reason. I occasionally bump into mum at indoor play and such places.

looneytune · 15/01/2008 20:39

Pinkranger - welcome Just ignore Shoshe, I only get myself into trouble....and I don't even need to do anything wrong (well, apart from set up a Fed up with Ofsted group on Facebook lol ) As for driving people potty?!?!??? What DO you mean by that Shoshe?????!

Nick - that's such a lovely story, just ruined my mascara though!!! (it's those pregnancy hormones again!!!)

For anyone who may (or may not!) be interested......that lady did come to see me and her and her DD were lovely and although she said she was keen to come on board, I did the usual 'have a think and let me know what you decided' thing. She said she'll ring by end of Friday so we'll see. Just need dh's 2nd interview to go well tomorrow now - fingers x'd!

KatyMac · 15/01/2008 20:41

What shall I have for tea - I think I am hungry, but I don't know what to have

looneytune · 15/01/2008 20:44

No idea Katy but I'm hungry too and waiting for dh to make me something! It was supposed to be a yummy spag bol but as we went out for lunch today and he was a piggy wiggy, he doesn't want such a big meal so I'll have that Thursday night instead (tomorrow night out with local childminders for a meal).

shoshe · 15/01/2008 20:46

I just had bananas and cream for tea if that helps Katy!

shoshe · 15/01/2008 20:51

OP posts:
KatyMac · 15/01/2008 20:54

Shoshe - where is the fat in that?

Grilled chicken breast (low fat)
Fried veggies (well I use frozen veg so add a smidge of olive oil (good fat)
Homemade bread (made with olive oil - good fat)

nannynick · 15/01/2008 20:55

I'm having Pizza. Not very good I know, but after cooking at work, I don't really want to cook at home.

KatyMac · 15/01/2008 20:55

I lost 54lbs on that diet

looneytune · 15/01/2008 21:00

Cheers Mo, will let you know if she signs. As for dh, he has a 2nd interview tomorrow at 9.30am. It's only a 2/3 month contract but I really hope he gets it as not having luck elsewhere and we really need the money, especially under the circumstances! Hopefully tomorrow we'll have an idea on how soon he's know.

shoshe · 15/01/2008 21:01

Theres not Katy, just that I had homemade veggie soup, and that sounded nice, and I now want some.
