Not looking forward to this morning, it's horrible outside. Plus I expect I may need to arrange a doctors appointment for baby to get some eye drops (so the joy of taking baby and 3 year old to doctors).

shoshe · 15/01/2008 07:25

At least after school run, we are going to soft play Nick, cos is it just me or does this wind affect (effect?) the children, I know when I was a TA, the kids always were wilder in this sort of weather.

Bloody awful here too and would love to stay in the staff room however if I don't do the school run, I'm stuck with ds and he's actually ok about going to big school today The sisters are off so it's just me and dh til 2.45 Got Costco popping round to sort an account out then me and dh off for lunch ON OUR OWN (that's if we haven't blown away!)

Have good day everyone

Morning. I thinking of putting my waterproof trousers on! Tres attractive, doncha think!

Mystery of the missing school coat, was solved btw. I couldn't find it, because it wasn't hung up, it was screwed up in a box! Silly mummy, why didn't I think of looking there!

southernbelle77 · 15/01/2008 08:33

Morning morning! What a lovely morning it is here too! So glad I've got a school run this morning! Although it's easier as picking mindee up afterwards so at least don't have to take him with me!
Then it's off to childminding group for us (finally being able to go again now I've got him on a Tuesday morning!) so hopefully will get back in the loop so to speak and maybe get some more work.
Talking of work, I did finally get an enquiry about some work at last! Only via email so hopefully I will get an interview from it and can show them what a wonderful childminder I am () and of course they will then want to use me
Keep your fingers crossed for me!

MamaG · 15/01/2008 08:50

What the flipping heck is a hooley?

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 08:58

Here you are, its in the dictionary!

KaySamuels · 15/01/2008 09:00

Yeuk I am all soggy from school run!

Would I be a terrible mummy if I didn't take ds to preschool this afty? Lots of reasons to keep him off, main one being it is new mindee's first real day and he is meant to be droped of same time as ds nursery doors open. Why I didn't notice when I wrote it down I don't know, think I'm losing my marbles!

Hooley [snurk] Kay imagines that smug miss hooley blowing away from Balamory never to be seen again.

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 09:00

Gives a whole new meaning to the lovely Miss Hoolie, she's a wind bag! I never liked her, since she ignored us when we were watching them film Balamory!

MamaG · 15/01/2008 09:00

I won't be able to click on that link Mo

Firewall at work doesn't let us on many sites and it logs all attempts

Just tell me will ya !

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 09:04

Blowing a gale basically! To storm, to forcefully gust, blow and rain.

Not sure I wanna know if Miss Hoolie does all that!

MamaG · 15/01/2008 09:05

Ah right

No, I don't want to think of her like that either thankyouverymuch

crace · 15/01/2008 09:09

You've completely changed my opinion of horrible Miss Hoolie - I always think she is being snotty now Too much time on my hands, me thinks?

Horrible winds, not looking forward to my preschool and school runs this pm

KaySamuels · 15/01/2008 09:13

Will I get in trouble if I don't take ds to preschool? If I decide I am going to take him will have to call new mindees mum and sort out drop off time.

MML How long did your mindee take to settle that you were telling me about yesterday? Mindee will be here today 12.30-6.30 and I am feeling rather apprehensive about it.!

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 09:14

She's like that in real life Crace. We were in Tobermory a few years back and they were doing the filming. As soon as filming stopped we asked for autographs and she buggered off, straight away! There were loads of kids there too! Spencer was lovely, he had his picture taken with us and asked the kids where we were from etc.

MamaG · 15/01/2008 09:16

silly cow

We were in tobermory in June 2002 Mo, were you?

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 09:18

He doesn;t have to go to pre-school does he? If its impossible, so be it. You won't get into trouble at all.

It took about 4 weeks I'm afraid, but only becuase it was such along time between days. She was fine as long as I was just there, didn't speak, just smiled and maybe waved! Fed her, watered her and was just there really. She's fab now. Still quite loud, but that's because she's thumping the piano and screaching with delight!

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 09:20

Need to check the pictures, because we go to Scotland every year and it all moulds into one! Sounds about right though. Oh no, can't have been, we had MasterKbear with us and he's only 6 now, must have been 2004'ish!

KaySamuels · 15/01/2008 09:52

He will be here for four half days a week, hope he soon settles in!! Just gonna play it by ear, might take him to preschool if rain dies off a little, but he would be late. Doubt I will tho!

BoysAreLikeDogs · 15/01/2008 09:55

Morning all !

My cousin's funeral on Saturday was very dignified, loads of people came, standing in the church plus masses outside.

Her daughter held it together beautifully then massive reaction Saturday night, bless her.

Back to 'normal' now, I feel like we can move on again.

What a yucky day, wind blew my brolly inside out grrrr.

Mindees will be here in a bit then full-on til 7pm eek

KatyMac · 15/01/2008 09:56

Morning all

DD is still poorly & off her food - this is her 6th day off

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2008 10:10

Oh Kay, that'll be easy then! Mine only came on Mondays and Tuesdays, so all the bonding we did on Tuesday was lost until the following Monday! 2 weeks, tops and he'll be sorted.

Ju, nice to see you. You're so right, life has to go on and back to normal. It won't be normal for cousins dd for a long while, but I'm sure you're all there to support her and she'll find a new normal.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 15/01/2008 10:12

Katy, has DD had a lurgy, poor love ?

ROSEgarden · 15/01/2008 12:22
