Thank God there's no marmite.

I was so cross yesterday - had a parent come to sign contracts / forms etc for the 8 year old. She was supposed to come at 10 and rolled in at 10.35 - had to do nursery pick-up at 11.15 so it was a bit rushed. I'd spent an hour the day before getting it all ready. She then rings me yesterday afternoon saying sorry but she'd changed her mind as she'd found an after school club that would take him. ARGGHHHH. Not happy!

And to top that, my mum emailed me last night saying my guinea-pig had died (she took him on after we found ds had an allergy).

I hope today is better!

Megsdaughter · 16/10/2007 07:33

Two rounds of pancakes for the red one, to cheer her up.

Poor you SM

I had a crap day yesterday too - I went on a course and nothing happened at home, no-body did anything, god knows what will happen when I leave

No pancakes for me I feel a bit sick atm

StrawberryMartini · 16/10/2007 07:54

Yum, thanks .

MaureenMLove · 16/10/2007 08:17

Well I was going to be mean a break open the marmite, but after your rotten day yesterday SM, I won't. Could I just have the bacon on my pancakes, the thought of something that sweet at this time of day, really turns my tummy!

Mindee is gagging to get on the piano again today. Mum told me she kept showing her how she did it! I can't decide whether its good that she's too little to sit there by herself, therefore very loud in my ear or would it be better if I could walk away? At least this way, she can't sneak in and have another go without me!

MissInvisible · 16/10/2007 08:24

oh i am soooooooo sick of hearing whiny, wingy, arguing, tired children..why cant they just get along??

MaureenMLove · 16/10/2007 08:27

Oh dear, more pancakes this way please, PC neeeeeds them!

Earthymama · 16/10/2007 08:32

Good morning, it's chese muffins chezEm today, I had to go to Tesco's for a prescription as the antivrul medication gave me such a sore tummy. Of course, I had to look round while I waited......expensive prescription, considering they are free in Wales!!

I'm sad today, my lovely mindee's last week before his mum goes on Maternity Leave. We're going to see the dinosaurs at Cardiff Museum this morning.

He's close to my DGC but they are all full of coughs and colds so I think it's best to avoid them. We were going to have a little party and invite the mindees who have recently gone to school but they are coughing and poorly too, so it's just Me and Him!!

Thanks for making me feel I'm being reasonable about my 'family' on other thread.

MissInvisible · 16/10/2007 09:33

Since 6.15 am..mindee has WOUND dd up something chronic, she was ill yesterday so not in the mood and grumpy herself, then mindee 2 comes along and all i can hear id dd shouting "xx, You are winding me up"..think i must try to use another phrase now!

they are 4.6(dd), 4 and almost 6, they are the most competetive, hard to please bunch of girls lately and the 4 yr old nearly had our 10 yr old in tears yesterday saying no one liked her and no one wanted to be her friend!!..over and over and over again(10yr old has only been here two weeks so was a bit )

MissInvisible · 16/10/2007 09:33

MissInvisible · 16/10/2007 12:52

cant say no, but want to get point across that i must ahve more notice than 18 hours!, what can i text her back?

LoveMyGirls · 16/10/2007 12:52

MI - say NO

MissInvisible · 16/10/2007 12:53

cant, she pays for more hours than she sues as she was supposed to use more on more reg basis if that makes sense?, but fgs, this is no notice at all!

LoveMyGirls · 16/10/2007 13:02

what are your opening hours?
Surely you are entitled to say no if out of normal hours?

dmo · 16/10/2007 13:10

my niece had a good night last night

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 16/10/2007 13:17

Haven't read all messages, I'm still shaking after some news I had about an hour ago. Should be making lunch but I've got butterflies and can't eat. Anyway, just wanted to let you all know I did a test earlier and it was POSITIVE I'm in shock and now worried about money, how to tell parents etc etc. Why am I suddenly terrified????

Will try and calm and pop back in a bit and check other messages.

MissInvisible · 16/10/2007 13:17

thats fab DMO

LMG, she pays for 12 hours, they use 9 most weeks.
I badger them for hours AND days regulary and she text me the next 4 weeks about a week ago, there were NO hours just days, so as usual if she ahsnt specified, i assume maybe wrong of me that she is using 9 as normal(8am-5pm)
now less than 24 hrs to go and she wants a 6.30 start and probably 8.30 finish..am absolutely fed up of parents lack of consideration adnt hinking they pay me so they can do what the F they like
im absolutely shatterd what with dd being up all night throwing sun night, worked 6-10 yesterday, 6-10 today andd fed up that i STATED in newsletter no 'after 8pm finished' and that they would have to stay overnight and now im backtracking, with myself!

MissInvisible · 16/10/2007 13:18

i need some 'official' advice on what i can do hre, tried rinigng childcare co ordinator and shes off today, need to sort this out as its getting me down!

MaureenMLove · 16/10/2007 13:21

Good to hear niece had a goodnight DMO.

PC, I don't know what to say. I know its so, so hard to be assertive, but thisis not good for your health. You've got to get tough with them.

Talking of health, LOONEY! Is that just the best news in the world or wot?

MissInvisible · 16/10/2007 13:21

Looney..right..calm down, you're doing yourself no good flapping!..dont give work/oarents a second thought until you're two three months gone, feeling happy and all well, then work out what you plan to do with time off etc.
You've already started putting money away, can you afford to put a bit more in, now you have set the abll rolling..also check out any beneifts/help/grants yo can get, im sure they have improved since i had dd..well done sweetheart
