I am waiting my little son, to meet you. I have a new haircut, shaved legs, and I am ready now.

So any time you like!

(7 days overdue)

I shall go off-line to finish a few chores & then I will settle down to focus on the task at hand. For this I will either need complete silence or some rather bad telly .

(It has occurred to me that I took a leisurely 7/8 months picturing DD arriving a little early via a nice sensible 12-hr labour. No matter. For you, I will turbo charge!)

Poledra · 27/11/2009 23:50

Hope things get moving tonight.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 28/11/2009 03:28

poledra use your own magic, you are magical aren't you?

I am wide awake, but alas not due to contractions but i am so fed up i can't even sleep.

Hey, Pavlov, hopy your little TomKitten will decide the 28th is a good day to be born .

I went well overdue with 2 of mine (15 and 12 days) and I know it is the longest few days ever!
Have you been offered a membrane sweep? A rather vigorous one certainly did the trick for my DS3 .

Good luck!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 28/11/2009 03:46

pacificdogwood morning! Yes, had sweep on thursday, really bloody uncomfortable, and it was then she said i was 4cm dilated already, but nothing going on so far. Apart from just hearind DD shout 'mummeeee' from her room. I shall give her 2 mins see if she settles back/is dreaming.

I am fed up with lying down resting. I am fed up with tidying, trimming nails, walking about (which is also getting sore). I want to do painting. I might get the emulsion out and touch up a few spots i have seen in our hallway and dd's bedroom (not now of course...in the morning).

Now surely that is guaranteed to bring on speedy labour - being in my painting clothes

I am convinced that pushing DS2 around on his bike (he was just learning to cycle without stabilisers) is what also helped to push me into labour.
The doc who did my sweep told me "to go home and scrub some floors" : physical activity + hips higher than knees, so she had a point, but NO CHANCE!!

Here's another idea for you: put your very best, most expensive knickers on - that will work and ruining them surely cannot be quite as expensive as your best sheets?

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 28/11/2009 04:00

Funnily enough, while you were writing your post, I was jus scrubbing DDs floor as there was some random unidentified substance on it which smelled! Only for 2 mins though, probably not enough.

Why are you up anyway?

OP posts:
PacificDogwood · 28/11/2009 04:08

To keep you entertained, of course !!

No, more mundane: recurrance of bloody UTI, gah! My bladder hurts, I am peeing every 10 minutes, that hurts - and this is me on antibiotics since Tuesday!! It got better, I was fine last couple of days, and tonight it all kicked off again. I am 25 weeks pregnant and have problems with my immunity recently.

I reckon change of ABs tomorrow ...

Nice, though that MN is not all asleep.

PacificDogwood · 28/11/2009 04:10

Just realised: change of ABs today, oh Lord!

Painting is good, Pavlov, concentrate on the skirting boards , that'll get your bum in the air..

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 28/11/2009 04:24

Oh you poor thing, i have had 2 uti's this pg, affected kidneys and it was horrible, so you have my sympathies there. I really hope the new ABs work for you quickly.

I am not sure there is any skirting to do, on account of it all being done before our new carpets were down, but they could probably do with a wipe down with some dettol or somesuch... i am obsessed with dettol, i just love the smell this pg, it has actually been productive in alleviating nausea, strangely and i find myself cleaning with it, just so i can smell it! . Also the same with toothpaste and listerine mouthwash. I have a very clean mouth

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 28/11/2009 04:33

Right I am off to see if I can sleep some more, seeing as this baby is not coming at the moment!

I hope you feel more comfortable soon pacific.

oopsandbabycoconut · 28/11/2009 07:35

Pav - I have just realised why this baby hasn't arrived yet.................... it's your name maybe he has forgotten? If you are forgetful he might have inherited it

Hope things are on the move and you are sitting in your hospital bed inhaling that fresh new baby smell.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 28/11/2009 07:48

No, not smelling his fresh baby smell, but think i might have just had a contraction...

A very weird thing just happened.

I was lying here, just woke from getting back to sleep, casually thinking about what baby might look like, then he opened his mouth in that rooting manner and suckled. At the same time, i had a sensation from my breast to my tummy, and a slightly painful (but not unbearable) dull pain on my backside/back, very reminiscent of a contraction, lasted about 30 seconds, did not end with a poo or a fart!

oopsandbabycoconut · 28/11/2009 07:50

ooh Come on Kitten. Maybe you should try some of Lulu's often suggested nipple tweaking?

I really hope this is it for you now.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 28/11/2009 07:55

Me too.

Had another one, but really not sure if cx, as they don't really hurt, just uncomfortable...

am off for brekky...

OP posts:
Tillyscoutsmum · 28/11/2009 08:30

Oooooh - hope they are cx's.

Come on kitten - today is the day

PacificDogwood · 28/11/2009 08:32

Hello, I am back. And how exciting! Of course these are contractions: how clever, just keep thinking of little Kitten BFing and you are away. Finger crossed!

Sorry, I toddled off to bed earlier this morning. Now waiting for 9 o'clock to ring the MWs.

Go, Pavlov, go!!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 28/11/2009 08:42

10 mins apart. Painful, but bearable. I have time for a shower don't i? DH is dropping DD off at babysitters as we speak.

OP posts:
Tillyscoutsmum · 28/11/2009 08:46

How long with DH be ? Can you wait for him to come back before you have a shower ? I'd hate you to be stuck in there and not be able to get out ?

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 28/11/2009 08:56

Dh will be about 20 mins? Hope not too long. I shall wait.

Weird, i had a cx, then another about 2-3mins straight after, then almost 10 mins, the another 2 close in a row..normal yeah?

Called MW, she said, wait until i get 2 in 10 mins for 2 hours, then go in.

Waters not gone yet.

nevergoogledragonbutter · 28/11/2009 09:00

Yay!

Go Pav!

badietbuddy · 28/11/2009 09:07

Yay! It's so happening today. Are you close to the hospital? I remember being desperate for a shower before I left and everyone insisting there was no time. Turns out they were right I predict a baby by lunchtime (ooo the tea and toast, just think of the heavenly tea and toast)

Tillyscoutsmum · 28/11/2009 09:08

My cx's were all over the place with dd. There was no pattern to them at all - I only went in to hospital because I started bleeding and I wanted them to check me out. I was 7cm when I got there.

Hassled · 28/11/2009 09:09

Good luck - how exciting .

foxinsocks · 28/11/2009 09:09

ooh pavlov, good luck!
