I am waiting my little son, to meet you. I have a new haircut, shaved legs, and I am ready now.

So any time you like!

(7 days overdue)

Oh and I am glad these feelings are normal. I feel worried that i am not in a positive place for when the little lovely boy arrives.

Thanks all x

Pav, I went 13 days over with ds, my second. I was 4 cm dilated at my sweep and I tell you he came fast! Fantastic labour too, 3.5 hours from waters breaking and subsequent first contraction to him being born. Get in the bath and have a wallow

Tillyscoutsmum · 27/11/2009 20:54

Sending lots of labour vibes...

It must just be so disappointing to go from excitement at being 4cm and then nothing Enjoy your rest (whilst you can) x

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 27/11/2009 21:01

I had a looooong bath yesterday badietbuddy and then nothing. I can't get out of it again without a winch/help from dh and i just sent him out!

I like the idea of 3.5 hours from waters breaking to birth...fab!

O pav it was heaven! After a loooong labour with dd I was frightened it would be the same, and just couldn't believe it when it was time to push already. In that case, I recommend a bit of belly dancing in front of the TV for good measure, then bed with warm jammies (and a bloody big towel under you, for tonight is the night, I feel it in me bones)
badietbuddy accepts no responsibility should you still be here tomorrow

raggie · 27/11/2009 21:07

Good luck pav! Thinking of you!

changer22 · 27/11/2009 21:11

3 of mine were 2 weeks late!

I fibbed about the dates for the last one as I didn't want to be hassled and then I started to worry 'it' would never come!

Going to the cinema brought on my second to last - I still can't get my head around her being so late as she was a between-Christmas-and-New-Year baby and turned up in the middle of January - wrong month, wrong YEAR! My poor doula spent the entire holiday season not drinking as she was 'working'.

My best friend (who was on standby to look after the brood) going away for the weekend brought on my final one...

Make plans is my top tip.

My 'doula' can no longer make it either. She has been working in a location where she would be able to get cover/bunk of early really easily for weeks, and now, as of yesterday, her DS has swine flu and she has to work on duty this weekend and then next week it is harder to get out of her work so easily.

badietbuddy the mw i saw yesterday said that exact same thing about not being responsible if he did not turn up as she predicted! I have a towel under my sheet! .

lockets 15 days . Mind you that would take me to wednesday ish, which is full moon and more babies arrive on full moon, allegedly...

Right, if not here tomorrow, brisk uphill walk (pref with buggy) seemed to do the trick with a few friends of mine!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 27/11/2009 21:26

Oh don't know about brisk. I can't do anything brisk at the moment on account my legs appearing to not want to move too far apart!!!

Oh and sex is out too. MW said baby's head was so far down into pelvis Dh would not be able to get his willy in haha, he will be mightily pleased i told you all that

BOO!

Did I shock you into labour? NO? Shucks.
My Mother tried that trick when I was OD. Went 16 days in the end, and that was with an induction.

As changer says, make plans!

earlyriser · 27/11/2009 21:33

Brisk waddle then?

19fran76 · 27/11/2009 21:34

Relax Pav. You don't need a doula now, for I am your self-appointed local good luck mascot & have stumbled upon this thread to sprinkle the whole occasion with some fairy magic

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 27/11/2009 21:35

Nope...did not work.

Not having proper induction. Apparantly, just waters breaking. Apparantly. I am not sure i beleive them now.

Right off to bed, see if I can sleep some contractions into happening.

Cheers for keeping me from going insane everyone!

badietbuddy · 27/11/2009 21:39

You know pav my friend had a baby last week. She too was 4cm and overdue. After a few hours of fruitless contractions, they broke her waters and baby was born 40 minutes later. I predict more of the same for you

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 27/11/2009 21:40

FRAN!!!!! DId you get my message? left one on another thread for you!

I apologised for my serious slackness over last few months due to trying not to kill my old builder, puking, decorating, court case paperwork blah blah. But once this little son of mine makes an appearance all will be calm in World of Pavlov and we can meet up for a coffee.

Sprinkle me with your magic dust, yes please!

(she is not a paid doula mind, she is my best friend, who happens to be a nurse, who happens to be fantastic, well was at my last birth, she was just brilliant, and enabled me and DH to get on with having a baby while she sorted everything out from changing my sheets lots, to making sure my pain releif was sorted, to accompanying me into theatre for my placenta to be removed, taking photos of baby just 1 min old with me and DH, writing it all down and giving it to us as a 1st birthday present for DD, marvelous).

OP posts:
19fran76 · 27/11/2009 21:45

Now then... I got DD to arrive a day early by the the power of my own mind so all I have to do is visualise your DS deciding to debut himself. Would like him to turn up later tonight or some time on Saturday???

19fran76 · 27/11/2009 21:47

P.S. Your bessie mate sounds glorious. What a lovely present for you & your DD.

CarGirl · 27/11/2009 21:49

I can't believe you're 4 cm dilated, it took them hours of induction to get me past a Bihops Score of 1!!!!!!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 27/11/2009 21:50

Ok, so, dd is tucked up asleep, babysitter on standby to get over here asap, spare bed made up in prep, so...lets say, 3 hours before contractions start, so that i can get a couple of hours sleep, then, babysitter can get here by 1am, hospital by 2am, baby by 3am, maybe 4 latest, tea, toast, sleep, out by 9am? Home to see DD for breakfast and friend can then take her out while I sleep/feed.

If you can sort that out, that would be grand

OP posts:
PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 27/11/2009 21:51

cargirl i can't beleive i am 4cm dilated either. Appears not to mean very much to by body

OP posts:
CarGirl · 27/11/2009 21:54

I reckon if you wait until it happens on its own ds will arrive complete in sack!
