Not sure anyone is going to be up now but am 39 weeks today and been having mild pains for last hour or so. They def have start and end and get more painful in the middle. If I lie in bed it makes me want to stand up but not so painful its crippling. Contraction master times them every 5 mins or so (this was a bit of a surprise!). No show though or any other signs of impending labour. can;t help thinking its a false start... anyone out there to agree with me?

WHITEY

I am here, back again! I was one of your first string doulas so wanted to check and see how you were getting on

I have been thinking of you all day - been to bed, been to work, been looking after DS and thinking of you producing your baby!!!

You brave and lucky and wonderful person! I hope the self doubt has left

Might go and trawl birth announcements too

Jacksmama · 23/03/2009 23:40

I already trawled them - nothing from WB.

Hope she's had a gorgeous baby by now!

Jacksmama · 24/03/2009 18:49

hello all you fabulous ladies! Am here and finally back on line sitting with dh and darling baby daughter! very briefly i turned out to be a warp speed dilater (6am very relaxed talking and walking, 11.30 am 10cm and ready to push!) but not a very good pusher. After five hours pushing at home we ended up with a very exciting blue light trip to hospital and she arrived with some help of ventouse about 30 mins later. 2nd deg tear, 20 stitches, only introduced to gas n air in ambulance and local in hosp. Did brilliantly (sorry am just so delighted with myself ) at home with only my trusty pool and some brilliant midwifes for pain support but she was a little offskew crowning so just couldn;t get enought ooomph to get her out on my own. The walk from the house to the ambulance in my oldest dressing gown contracting and pushing about every 2 mins was a sight that will be remembered by the neighbours for some time!! She was a little star throughout, never stressed and brilliant. My DH also the best birthing partner (after you lovely ladies) and now a very proud dad. Isabella Alice weighed in at 7 pounds 8 born at 5.06 last night. My dh has told EVERYONE about this brllant mumsnet page and all the support you offered me through the night. Thank you ladies from the bottom of our hearts!

WOW, congratulations!! You did so well and hello to your beautiful baby. Welcome Isabella! gorgeous name .

Jacksmama · 24/03/2009 23:02

OH WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I am so, so pleased for you!! You should be proud of yourself, you did amazingly well! at picturing you walking to the ambulance in a bath robe...

Now please, please look after yourself - take lots of quite warm sitz baths with a handful of salt thrown in to help your stitches heal, as well as apply ice packs (bag of frozen peas) alternating with a warm (not hot) pack on your girly bits to help with swelling. Allow everyone to spoil you and bring you food, make sure you do nothing but eat and rest for several days. Your body has been through a lot, and you need the TLC.
