Not sure anyone is going to be up now but am 39 weeks today and been having mild pains for last hour or so. They def have start and end and get more painful in the middle. If I lie in bed it makes me want to stand up but not so painful its crippling. Contraction master times them every 5 mins or so (this was a bit of a surprise!). No show though or any other signs of impending labour. can;t help thinking its a false start... anyone out there to agree with me?

They recommend eating/drinking in early stages I think (if you feel like it) to provide you with energy for the birth.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 23/03/2009 03:57

Good girl, keep eating drinking, pacing, bouncing on ball. Good idea to leave dh in bed. Here you go - passes virtual sandwich. Or would you prefer toast?

Whiteybaby · 23/03/2009 04:00

yum toast... might need to make some real toast now to go with the virtual serving. Have some rl company as our cat has just decided to pop in and hang around. poor moggy is going to get a shock when the mooing starts!

ClaudiaSchiffer · 23/03/2009 05:15

Oh, just noticed that an hour passed by between those two posts - have you had your baby whitey???

Good luck if not xx

Portofino · 23/03/2009 06:15

It's gone very quiet. Does this mean it has all kicked off? How exciting. Good luck! Hope baby makes an appearance soon.

Whiteybaby · 23/03/2009 06:25

shirleyc · 23/03/2009 07:21

Hi Whitey hope its all going well for you! I'm online for a while if you need company although am sure your busy mooing now! Good luck!!

Whiteybaby · 23/03/2009 07:40

hello... just had a bath but still here and dh about to go to tescos for last few things I never bought... i am not particularly organised! Ctx seem to hurt like hell when they kick in and I know its still early so am worried now I am complete wuss.. whilst midwife was here they were hardly affecting me.. minute she left I am doubled over. serious amounts of self doubt prob not helping.. am trying to stay positive but (slightly weakly) its hard!!

Just wanted to wish you luck!

How are you feeling now???

KingCanuteIAm · 23/03/2009 08:00

Don't doubt yourself now (although it is a normal reaction)! You are going to do this and you are going to manage and your MW will be there to help you through it!

My thoughts are with you, will be off to work shortly but I will try to check in later in the day!

shirleyc · 23/03/2009 08:05

Whitey everything that king said! You will be fine and you will manage. Just imagine later today you will be holding your little baby in your arms! How far apart are your contractions now? Is anyone able to sit with you whilst hubby pops to tescos??
I'm happy to sit and keep you company if you need me!
'rubs back and big hugs'.
Sending you lots of positive vibes!

Whiteybaby · 23/03/2009 08:57

thanks for support. my mum stepped into the breach via the phone while dh out. not been timing ctx but coming every few mins. am going to introduCce dh to contraction master so we have an idea of timings!

shirleyc · 23/03/2009 08:59

oh great that way u'll have a better idea of times etc. So do you have any other dc or is this your first?

gibbberish · 23/03/2009 09:50

Morning whitey

Things seem to have speeded up a notch since last night then? How exciting! Did you manage to get any sleep?

FAQinglovely · 23/03/2009 09:54

don't go too much on the timings of them, mine were erratic with DS3 right up until he was born, and the longest in the entire labour was 45 seconds long.

Good luck

emmabemmasmom · 23/03/2009 10:18

Oh I hope everything is going ok for you!

My waters broke at 11pm on a Saturday and I had contractions for nearly 24 hours before I had to go to hospital! Still didn't have DD until Monday at 2pm!

Hope it goes faster for you!

Ill be checking back for progress...exciting!!

emmabemmasmom · 23/03/2009 12:05

I know you are probably busy being in pain but have you had the baby???

Dying to know!

Hope you are hanging in there and good luck!!

Jacksmama · 23/03/2009 17:36

I am so sorry!!!! I fell asleep!! Have I missed it???

KingCanuteIAm · 23/03/2009 20:57

I am going to trawl the announcment threads

I hope everything is going well if there is no announcment yet! I have had to stop myself posting to ask pointless "are we nearly there yet" questions at least 5 times today!

ClaudiaSchiffer · 23/03/2009 21:59

Oo, back on, any news?

seriouscase · 23/03/2009 23:18

Hope it is going okay Whiteybaby, imagine you are busy just now!
