Not sure anyone is going to be up now but am 39 weeks today and been having mild pains for last hour or so. They def have start and end and get more painful in the middle. If I lie in bed it makes me want to stand up but not so painful its crippling. Contraction master times them every 5 mins or so (this was a bit of a surprise!). No show though or any other signs of impending labour. can;t help thinking its a false start... anyone out there to agree with me?

Oh, Whitey, if JM is off and round about, yes, she is in Canada. She was a virutal doola a little while ago, with Catita who is in Mexico

you should be able to pick up some from Aus and NZ as well for your late night labours!!!

daisy99divine · 23/03/2009 02:13

Whiteybaby · 23/03/2009 02:14

How exciting, given you are planning a home birth we could all virtually be there! you could be the first person to have hundreds of birth partners!
I really hope it all goes as you have planned it, good luck, will keep watching out.

Jacksmama · 23/03/2009 02:19

North American Doula Brigade up and around - it's only 7:15 pm here so I'm yours if you need me.

Anything else since the plug?

I never knew I lost mine - my waters went at 1:05 am in a big gush.

Feeling ok?

Don't be nervous, you'll do great.

Hi again, is dh up with you whitey? Or are you pacing around the sitting room on your own?

Whiteybaby · 23/03/2009 03:42

didn't make it to bed! think waters gone (not huge gush but either that or wee'd on my hand ) and have rung midwife. contractions had stopped but now back and stronger and more in my back / side than before. hot water tank been put on to constant! Been asked to call hospital back in 30 mins if soaking maternity pads.

OP posts:
Whiteybaby · 23/03/2009 03:45

dh still in bed. have heard that its best to leave them to sleep as long as poss! he has been told to stay in bed till spoken to hosp and that he might need to start blowing up the birth pool if things keep moving! Starting to wish we had practiced putting it up at least once!!
