fuck. mother not here, hospital an hour away and contractions are 50 secs long....

i really don't want to give birth at the side of the road but this is getting a bit worrying.

Congratulations! Only just spotted this - it bizarely reflects my own experience - I was supposed to be having a home birth for my second child and when the contractions were suitably dreadful called the midwife to come and so her stuff - they announced they were under staffed suddenly (despite knowing I was in labout all day they hadn't bothered to call ME) and I had to go into the hospital.... Was left with choice of leaving dd1 (13 months at the time) with childless friends or aquaintance neighbours - in the end MIL had to hot foot it from an hour away and by the time I got to hospital I had time to take my coat off before dd2's head was doing that burning thing to my fanjo that only babies heads can do.....

A bit of blind panic and a good moan about how shite the administration system was made labour somewhat easier to bear I thought...

thanks for all the kind wishes.

have just walked in the door now with aaron. he's doing great and is a fantastic little baby, charmed the pants off all the scbu nurses

relieved and absolutely drained so am planning on camping out on the couch for the next week with him!

Glad Aaron is okay and you enjoy your little boy. It seems an age ago that we were pregnant! I want another one, I am loving having 3!
