i really don't want to give birth at the side of the road but this is getting a bit worrying.

Do you and your partner know what to do if the baby starts to come?

if baby is coming v v quick, it is because nothing holding it back

if you do deliver, don;t do anything with the cord, keep baby warm and next to you and put baby to the breast. keep both of you warm and make sure baby is dried off

Lulumama · 09/02/2009 08:46

also, if you deliver alone, when the baby crowns , remember to pant and to put your hands onto your perineum, instinctively that will help you slow the birth down

mamadiva · 09/02/2009 08:58

Oh good luck Pink, let us know how you get on.

Wishing you all the best and again GOOD LUCK!!!

PinkTulips · 09/02/2009 09:02

thanks lulu... not feeling pressure yet but these contractions are pretty serious, still got about 3 mins between them though so trying not to panic.

I didn't realise you were PG either!

Hope your mum gets to you quickly.

May be an idea to head to hosp and get her to meet you there though.

FromGirders · 09/02/2009 09:08

Oh my goodness, good luck! Hope your mum arrives in the next minute or two!!

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 09/02/2009 09:11

ooh Good luck,

not sure what Lulu would say but if I was that close to giving birth I would be tempted to stay put rather than give birth in the car.

def call the ambulance though they will be able to help with a newborn if you give birth before they arrive.

Hope your mum gets there soon

PinkTulips · 09/02/2009 09:11

tuning off pc now as dad says she left an hour ago so going to hover by front door and leg it when she shows.
