24 hours

jabberwocky · 11/03/2005 03:33

from waters breaking - 38 hours
active labor - 22 hours

ghosty and you got pregnant again - good for you! more guts than me!!!

morningpaper · 11/03/2005 08:21

27 hours - expecting no. 2 and feeling reassured at the shorter times...

motherinferior · 11/03/2005 08:38

first one was about 36 hours, I think, ended in ventouse so would have been a bit longer otherwise (the epidural may have slowed it down - although it didn't work properly either)

second one was seven hours in total

ghosty · 11/03/2005 09:03

Do I win the longest labour prize then?????????

jabberwocky · 11/03/2005 09:05

Ghosty, look at the post from jampots on 10:56:17!

ghosty · 11/03/2005 09:07

Doh ....
I never win anything .... not even ever won a bloody raffle ....
I thought I had the biggest baby on the 'how big was your baby' thread and then someone came and boasted an 11lb 12oz baby ...
sigh ....
Jampots .... but not IYSWIM??

lunavix · 11/03/2005 09:14

31 hours - although the doctors spend the first 19 hours denying I was in labour and telling me to go home! By the time I was 4cm dilated I was too tired to do an ' I told you so ' so I just scowled

Miaou · 11/03/2005 09:14

dd1 - 16 hours
dd2 - 8 hours

Both times I had an epidural which mw reckoned could have almost doubled the length of my labour. So this next one could be as short as 2 hours?!

Evesmama · 11/03/2005 09:16

slow labour for 2 weeks????
actual labour 5 hours of pain pain pain because of syntocin

sasa15 · 11/03/2005 09:18

pre-labour for 2 days...like period pain...at home

actual labour 8 hours...at the hospital...

BEKsmum · 11/03/2005 09:22

30 hours from induction, but only 18 hours of that really hurt. Just found out I'm expecting no. 2 so don't know wheter to be reassured or scared witless by the short second labours!

Ameriscot2005 · 11/03/2005 09:38

DS1 - 2 hours
DS2 - 6 hours
DD1 - 3 hours
DD2 - 1.5 hours
DD3 - 6 hours

mamadadawahwah · 11/03/2005 09:46

DS 1 and only. 7.00pm till 1.00pm ended up in c-section.

mamadadawahwah · 11/03/2005 09:47

Had labour pains for three days but midwife said these were only "tightenings", HA they sure didnt feel like tightenings, more like a stranglehold!

ZoeB · 11/03/2005 09:48

should change my name to supersonic cervix...ds just over 45 mins dd 45 mins !!!! from first contraction.

PiccadillyCircus · 11/03/2005 09:51

Waters broke at 6:30am.

Proper contractions started 6:45pm.

In "established labour" at 8:45pm

DS born at 2:50am.

So labour somewhere between 6 hours 5min and 8 hours 5 min.

starlover · 11/03/2005 10:41

14 hours in "active labour"

about 17 hours from the first real contractions, although had been having pains on and off for a couple of days

bonym · 11/03/2005 10:46

Contractions started 9pm, gave birth 2.53am next morning. Hoping this next one (due in about 2wks) will be even quicker!

NomDePlume · 11/03/2005 10:48

hi scottishmumto1. My labour was 3 hours dead on ! Waters broke and contractions started thick & fast at 11.30pm, DD was born at 2.31am.

SeaShells · 11/03/2005 10:55

From very first contraction to actually giving birth...

DS 13 hours
DD 72 hours

With DD my contractions went on for over 3days before I went into 'active labour'

Active labour with both was just over 2hours, I had them both on a tuesday night at around the same time aswell!

fastasleep · 11/03/2005 11:18

My labour is in my notes as 70 minutes start to finish! But as I was in for an induction and I was magically 1 cm dilated all by myself, they broke my waters and stuck me on the drip and that was it really.....~pop~ lol

scottishmumto1 · 11/03/2005 15:12

i thought mine was long but some of these make mine a walk in the park. i was 30 hours from first contraction to an emengency c section, as hadnt progressed enough and baby was getting distressed. i would love to have these 1 hour labours that some have

purplelizzy · 11/03/2005 16:22
