24 hours then emergency c section as hadn't dilated more than 4 cm.

Libb · 10/03/2005 21:36

4.5 hours from waters breaking to birth - I did actually post here on the night calling for the wisdom of Mumsnet!

DS will be 1 soon! (sniff sniff)

sparklymieow · 10/03/2005 21:36

Ds labour was 1hour 15 minutes before I had a C/section
Dd1 woke up in labour at 2am had her at 3:59am
DD2 was in labour for 12 hours but noone believed me till I was 8cm dilated so it was 1hour 2mins according to my notes

Libb · 10/03/2005 21:36

Next time I am camping in the car park, the hospital is 30 mins drive away!

gingernut · 10/03/2005 22:13

DS1: 50 hours from first contraction to birth, 27 hours in `established labour'.
DS2: 3.5 days from first contraction to birth, 10 hours in established labour.

MamaMaiasaura · 10/03/2005 22:53

confused, thought they didnt allow you to go any longer than 18 hours after waters breaking? they told me i had to be induced?

jampots · 10/03/2005 23:07

where did you have your baby nightowl?

MamaMaiasaura · 10/03/2005 23:16

omg jampots! poor you.. i would have been climbing the walls, pleading, screaming, .. etc

jampots · 10/03/2005 23:19

for the ante-natal period it was ok if not just a little unnerving with it being my first although looking back i did burst into tears quite easily for that week. Then when i was in labour i was just knackered. Ended up in an em c/s though

janeybops · 11/03/2005 00:12

nightowl,
you can go up to 48 hours after waters break as long as you are monitored I believe. I went a day and half from waters breaking till first twinge.... DS born 6 hours 45 mins later.

My first dd was induced weds 9pm and had her Friday lunchtime . Officially in notes it is 14 hours or so???

fairyfly · 11/03/2005 00:13

45678 hours and my god it hurt

nightowl · 11/03/2005 00:20

wordsley hospital jampot. i was having contractions from about 30 mins after my waters went, but it had been 18 hours since my waters broke and they were going to induce me. stuff happened and in the end i asked for another cs (i really didnt want one but was worried about how my scar would cope with being induced and baby's heartbeat was all over the place).

nightowl · 11/03/2005 00:23

had been having contractions all night every night for three days prior to that.

nightowl · 11/03/2005 00:24

3 nights i mean!!!!

jampots · 11/03/2005 00:29

ahh thats not brum is it? i had mine at QE/Birmingham Maternity

nightowl · 11/03/2005 00:31

well i usually tell people im from brum (because they havent heard of dudley)! i think wordsley has closed down now.

ghosty · 11/03/2005 00:43

With DS, from first contraction to eventual emergency c/s ..... 55 HOURS!!!!!
With DD ... from first contraction (after 2nd lot of induction gel) to eventual "I've had enough of this, go sharpen your scalpel" c/s ... 19 hours ....
