CantSleepWontsleep is being induced tomorrow. She's disappointed that she won't get a live birth thread. Come and console her here.

And whilst you're here, feel free to answer any of the following...

What does one wear for induction - nightie ready for it all kicking off, or normal clothes for wandering around hospital in?

Anything else I should add to my hospital bag that I'm more likely to want with an induction?

If the prostoglandin stuff doesn't work, can I decide at that point to leave it, as I don't want my waters broken or the drip?

Would they be able to tell from a scan whether my placenta was still functioning just fine, whereby a few more days wouldn't hurt?

I'll be 40+5, and the induction is because I have gestational diabetes. It's standard practice to induce between 38 and 40 weeks for this, but I've been 'allowed' to go over because my control of it has been good.

Flamebat · 06/10/2008 20:09

Passed on the message Aitch - she says she feels all warm inside now

She is watching Eastenders on a bouncy ball, going to visit a mate on another ward, then going for an early night.

Sounds like heaven to me

EachPeachPearMum · 06/10/2008 20:17

EachPeachPearMum · 06/10/2008 20:28

Aitch · 06/10/2008 20:29

oh i do hope she has a boring time of it and all goes well.

expatinscotland · 06/10/2008 20:34

EachPear, I managed to score one, thanks!

The ILs are bringing an Argos and Tesco one for her to oggle, too, when they come next week.

I must admit I had a good time looking through it myself .

EachPeachPearMum · 06/10/2008 20:44

no problem, I shall recycle it.

expatinscotland · 06/10/2008 20:44

i have my own little wish list from it now .

the craft kits look fun!

EachPeachPearMum · 06/10/2008 21:01

I have been known to buy myself DD lego in the past!

expatinscotland · 06/10/2008 21:05

between that and the Yellow Moon catalogue, it could keep a person very busy .

Flamebat · 07/10/2008 07:39

"Morning. Today looks a fine day to have a baby! Managed a broken 4 hrs sleep between commotion on the ward and pain. Pain was worsening every 7 mins which is how labour started with DD, but seems to have settled to more constant ache now. Will be examined later this morning so will let you know if it's done any good or not. Better had of done or there'll be trouble! Should be allowed another pessary this morning too - can't wait ."

(Loving the fact that she did the [ hmm ] in the text )

PsychoAxeMurdererMum · 07/10/2008 08:16

EachPeachPearMum · 07/10/2008 10:00
